1. This is what happens when I retire from MilCom. The old guard thinks they can just dust off their rockers and take over. Perhaps you forgot I still have deep roots in our government ? You will step down now. /Some of us still remember the Night of the Missing Ribbons
2.
Glad we could get this done. Hopefully when the next war rolls around, we can find other people to fight. 2 wars in a row. If it happens a 3rd time, we might as well just get married.
Ask IRON how that goes.
3. I am trying to redclare a war on a nation that I was at war with until yesterday. The game both says that I cannot attack because the war has expired and that I cannot redclare because I am a Ready at war with them. Unfair. The nation that i want to be at war with is here: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=415645 He was in my range for fifteen minutes after update, and should not be able to avoid war because of this bug
4. I wasn't even s'posed to be here today! Congrats to everyone who got the job they wanted.
5.
Where are those Karma sigs with the Fark guy punching the IRON guy who jumps out of the trash can when you need them?
Since you have graciously requested a reminder, I am glad to oblige. Thanks for your appreciation of the creative work of one of our members!
6. I knew about this before the last three times it didn't happen.
7. Gravedigging. Oh wait, no. Pete and Repete walk into a bar, but Pete is underage and gets carded. Who is left?
8. Glad it had nothing to do with his being ZI'd. We'd've hated to have that on our conscience. Good luck with your RL challenges, Finster -- and congrats Peron. o?
9.
Did you attack right before update? If so, you may have done it a little late and done them after update. Check the timestamps on your sent messages.
I last attacked yesterday afternoon. So, no. Oh well. It's too late now. My opponent has reset his DEFCON and replaced the troops. Fog of war, I guess.
10. I have now been unable to attack for over an hour. This constitutes a significant tactical advantage to my opponents.
11. All attempts to launch a CM attack against a nation with which I am at war receive a "You have already launched cruise missiles twice today against" target nation message. This is not in fact true. Update: Same problem occurs with air and ground attacks.
12. Welcome to the family. You do know the n00b buys the booze, yes?
13. I just wanted to say, "Good luck, we're all counting on you!" /Excellent blitz, LE //You needed it.
14. And thanks to you as well, Ivan. The glow made it easier to attack at night. /It's the goodwill like this that makes the compliance issues such a downer.
15. Why do you think I re-declared on you? I needed an idea for dinner. Thanks for the good fight and the kind words. ---------------------------------------- As the person who reviewed every IRON nation at least once a week to check for compliance on the military terms, I will say that in general they complied within a couple of days once reminded of the terms. But I did have to remind about a 20% of the alliance. There were only a handful of nations that failed to ever comply with the surrender terms. Why that many people needed reminders, and why those handful are not smoking craters is not mine to say.
16. If you ever make it to Minnesota, you should swing by Moto-i "The First Sake Brewery Outside of Japan". My wife and I celebrated our second anniversary there recently and tried the tasting flight they offer of their three house brews. After that, I went for the Junmai Nama Genshu, while my wife enjoyed the Junmai Nama Ginjo. Yummy. /Why yes, they do have a gluten-free menu ...
17. There are actually many gluten free beers available, though "available" is very dependent upon your local distributors. Green's, makes a variety of beers, of which I can get three at my local store. New Grist and Bard's Tale are both decent enough quaffing beers. I have yet to try Redbridge (due to my prejudice against Anheuser-Busch). I also enjoy sake, wines and most distilled alcohols without any problems. Green's Explorer is a stout. I keep it in my wine fridge, so it is about 58 F when served. The head is more foamy than creamy, which is a disappointment to a former Guinness fan. The beer is a dark caramel color. The flavor is more lager-y than I would like and a bit simple. I'm still waiting for the recent revolution in mixed grains for gluten free beer-gone-bad (bread) to make its way into the GF beer market. Gluten free products often end up tasting sweeter because of the naturally higher sugar content of the grains used, and all of the varieties of Green's that I have tried run true to this rule. The result is something like drinking a beer while sucking on a hard candy. For this reason I wouldn't recommend drinking this beer without an accompanying food. A curry goes well and the sweetness actually helps quench the burn. Sadly, they're not cheap and not quite good enough to rate the price on a regular basis.
18. The graphic which prompted the comment only referenced the GRE + FARK update counter-blitz. I do not dispute that other AAs helped out. Your former largest nation tried to claim that you faced all of these AAs during your initial "sneak" attack. You got counter-blitzed by just two AAs, whose total membership was less than yours, and got your arses handed to you. Deal with it. You acquitted yourselves well once the war was fully engaged ... don't demean your efforts by inflating the scale of your opposition. Your nations fought honorably and lost. Your gov has chosen to abuse our regard for you and mock the terms we offered instead of damaging reparations. We offered this term as an olive branch to your AA to help heal the wounds of the recent war and build a common cultural understanding. Your gov chose to crap on one of the three pillars of Farkistani culture (Beer). I weep for the nations of IRON that I had hoped to befriend. My final question: Are you really defending bay's review as having met the surrender terms? Really?
19. Have no doubt, I have the highest respect for the IRON nations I engaged in the recent conflict. They did a great job in responding to our assault. Honestly, they were some %@$*_% fine opponents. BUT (1) FARK + GRE never even came close to 1:1, let alone 3:1 on IRON (2) IRON gov surrendered. READ THAT AGAIN (2) IRON gov surrendered then they tried to weasel their terms. Bad form. 'nuff said /FARK's resident gadfly.
20. So you're saying that that was the best you could do even with advanced warning? Interesting.
21. Hmm. Yeah. When was the last time anyone saw Fark show up in force, unexpectedly? Oh, yeah. Now I remember: <snip>
22. OOC: I have coeliac disease, which means I am unable to digest wheat gluten. Put that another way, 99.999% of all beers have me doubled over in the bathroom for a week. I could write better beer reviews. Poor form.
