  1. Sorry good sir! a miscalculation on my behalf, although you may have the upper hand we both appear to be quite intelligent if i do say so myself! I say dear chap would you care for a cup of earl grey while we exchange stories of baffling expense wasting by the other less civilized alliances? I do say it would be most riveting! :v

I don't know. It's no more or less resource "wasting" than blowing things up in a war, or hitting NS landmarks, or trying to get sanctioned in the first place, etc., etc. I mean, this [game] is still about fun, right? Some people still like building things.

  2. Which should be your goal. Besides, uranium is an attractive resource in most trade circles so with uranium, you would very likely find a trade circle without any major problems.

True, but it doesn't sound to me like he's in a trade circle. And he'd have plenty of time to get it when he gets to the point he needs it.

  3. You probably want to think twice about Uranium for now. It's a good resources, but it's only really good whenever you get to the point you can buy nukes.

Wheat is important. The more population you have, the more taxes you earn and the more buildings you can make. Also, you'll want to pick up either a second population booster or one of the components of Construction (maybe marble).

    Good luck.

  4. Are you kidding? Off the top of my head (and I stress the lack of effort that went into this brief retort):

    I could go on.

    Okay, I will.

    Penn Brewing

    Erie Brewing

. . . and, of course Pittsburgh Brewing. Home of Iron City, crappiest beer in the world.

  5. Who the heck is building that much infrastructure when you're big enough to make one of these things? And even if I were, if something were to make me actually want the crummy resources that make up asphalt I'd say the wonder is doing its job. The martian resource benefitting the 3BR is directly worse, and there's a reason.

Not to say that more balancing doesn't need done, but look at the moon resources and tell me how much of a bonus fish or wheat get. I think it should go further, but it's a start.

  6. I'm ambivalent about the new images; it will just take a bit of getting used to. I agree with the calls to update the uranium icon (I never could tell what it was) -- but please make it a dull grey disc or sphere: http://blogs.knoxnews.com/munger/uranium.jpg. There are probably more than a few people here who actually believe uranium glows green under normal lighting.

I was thinking maybe just an atom molecule.

EDIT: "Atom Molecule?" Me good at science.

Seriously, how big of an idiot is this guy?

  7. Are you kidding me? Why would we need new icons? What a waste of time that could have been spent adding new features instead. Also, the new icons look worse than the old ones. They all look kind of "3D" now, which makes them more complex to the eye and therefore less "iconic", and harder/slower to recognize.

It's not because they're 3D, it's because you were so used to seeing the old ones. In time they'll blend right in.

Personally, I kind of liked seeing something a little different when I logged in this morning.

  8. Actually, I quite like the fact that you can't quite calculate out the precise cash flow from this. That's what causes the rigid "best" strategies we see in improvement building, trades, and such.

Also, if all we're interested in is maximizing efficency, why aren't we all building furnaces or something instead?
