  1. Neither are that great for a 3BR.

Sodium, available on Mars, is a +4 happiness for beer & fastfood. Basalt, also on Mars, is a -5% infrabuy.

Compare that to a cars set, where Basalt is +3 hap/-5% infrabill on top.

Or for a nation like me: Radon is currently a +$12 for me, which made my decision extremely easy. :)

Yeah. Well, I'm almost 3BR--I'm not that interested in buying infra right now, so I'm at Beer/FF +Uranium and some other resources. So I have some options. I could go radon and pick up Gold or Lead, or I could just wreck it all and go for Aff Pop+ one of the other moon resources. (Gold, though, only becomes just as good as another spare happiness resource--I already have wine, so it is not like I'm really gaining much to pick gold up instead.) I'm excited that there's not one clearcut Best Route, though.

  2. It depends mainly on bonus resources. The two mines give such different results that nations are better off going with the base that gives them the most efficient possible bonus resource.

That is what my original thoughts were too, and my Cow and Wheat would have made me want the Mars resource that benefits the 3BR combo. But I decided that I'd rather have the high bonuses now instead of in three years or whatever. Besides, I haven't done the math, but (while less "cool") the Colony seems way more beneficial than the mine anyhow.

But I totally see what you mean, because if I want to get the mine I'll probably want to overhaul my trades. My two awesome native resources don't combine particularly well with most of the moon resources. Which is the way it should be: they've been such an advantage for me over the years.

  3. next week soviet will remind you all that we once stood by GGA while they threatened other alliances to get off green, but oh wait! heres the real kicker they were just trying to be like there idols at the time the imperialistic overlords the tyranical NPO!

Just admit that you attacked CIS because they canceled a treaty with you and it ticked you off: I bet that that would a long way towards keeping it from coming up again and again. It's the arrogant, flimsy justification that keeps this thing alive.

  4. Yeah, Im good like that.

But anyway, noone can argue that spearo/spetton was even a remotely good reason for attacking the CIS. To me it seems like someone had a war itch to scratch or something. Annoyed after you couldn't get rid of us in the Veridicide?

    :D

/me goes to bed to avoid reading replys

Yeah, Spetton was never anything but a good citizen. He DID leave his old role behind. I know we never come to that point, but when that's the whole center of the Pacific argument that they didn't practice this it just doesn't go away. The only reason the rerolled nation issue ever came up was because of one small man (spy) with an axe to grind. It's amazing to me that people are arguing otherwise to this day.

  5. Not really... war over raids? lawl... TF did you ask them to peace out?

I'm kind of curious as to why I should just peace out when someone attacks me for no good reason.

"Yeah, I know you attacked me and anarchied me out of the blue, but hey, it's cool. I'm sure it was an accident. I'm not going to make sure you remember not to do it again, even though I have you on the ropes. Please, enjoy the free technology. It's on the house."

  6. Or, at least, how most of the really vehement condemnations of spies from other alliances tends to ring a bit hypocritical.

Every time I see that "spying is bad, mmk?" meme I want to punch a hole through my monitor and set fire to everyone on the other side.

It's quite possible the singlemost annoying thing in CN to me.
