Well seeing as bros already accepted [on air] that he did snoop on UPN when he had admin access, by simply clicking on a thread in the gov areas... Roq pretty much stands proven true on the "MK Spied" issue.
While this has been interesting to see, i would rather Roq took a different approach to this. It is always better to let the masses whip themselves into a frenzy than to seem like you are trying to whip them into a frenzy. The best way to drop a bomb, Roq, is to just drop it, and then pop in every one or two days, answer any pertinent posts, ignore the obvious tangents and focus on the smart questions that are relevant to the topic at hand. Done right, it is a thing of beauty.
Right now, the T machine is trying very hard to make it about Roq and not about the issue. They have also had a modicum of success in this endeavor. Yes a few will winnow out the chaff and retain the salient points, i wonder how much that will help Roq's goals at this point in time.
Add to that the CBs based around spying have traction only when when an alliance with muscle is making the allegation. From the looks of things, in the public domain so far,UPN and RoK and the Sith are not about to make a thing of it. I am not even sure that the NSO even thinks its that big a deal or are even convinced that they were spied upon. UPN apparently forgave bros. RoK ... i think they will thank you for not making them "the news" at this point in time.
So you have one confirmed and one possible victim that are already curled up in the fetal position, a third that is "meh" about it and unless Nagasaki is something really ground breaking [but really guys, is there anything that we cant brush off?] i don't see any immediate impact of Roqgate.
Pity really, i was hoping for a flare up. Watching the scotch bottle mysteriously get emptied over the hours is not all its cracked up to be.
PS: bros... why man? wtf were you thinking.

The TESV-Skyrim player community has been awesome so far in terms of coming out with mods. The Creation kit that was scheduled for a January release is still slated for a January release, however with just 5 days left in January, seems to be likely to have a launch schedule slip.
While the game itself is pretty awesome out of the box, and most would most likely not miss the various mods that are up for grabs right now at the nexus, those that get the mods are spared situations like the one depicted in the graphic below:

Of course all the console players will miss out on the mods and stuff, but hey, you dont "need" the mods to enjoy the game. Just that some of these are really good and enhance the enjoyment factor a bit more.
The mods i have running right now are:

Beauty Faces for females by necKos 131 ---- Makes for a better non ugh experience.
Dovahkiin Hideout --- Adds a super basement to your home, with doors to all your homes. So like a common basement spanning Skyrim, with loads of stuff and libraries and bookshelves and stuff
SkyUI --- Makes for a better inventory and trade UI
Tyatnis Mod -- crafting, non horse ride-able beasts such as mammoths and bears and wolves and saber cats... Better spells graphics..

Yes that enables me to craft arrows.
The gripe i have witht he delay of the CK is that, without it, modders are unable to create navigational meshes, or NPC pathing routes if they are creating a new Zone or building or area in their mod. So your NPC cannot follow you into the Dovahkiin Hideout [actually a blessing at times]. This pathing would be a cinch with the CK, or so the game makers tell us.
    So yeah, waiting for CK.

Cybernations Players, Staff and random search engine wander-ins.
Please take the time to visit the link here and at the bottom of this post.
Christine Jelinek, 17, has been missing since 4th January 2012. She is the daughter of CN Players. One of our own is in trouble. Please heed this plea to check the link, remember her face and if you do see her, to please call the phone numbers mentioned in the report that the link leads to.
We are hoping to have as many people as possible to see the link and to spread it, this would increase the chances of Christine being found.
Please take five minutes from your day, check it, spread it.
    Thanks in Advance
    Alfred
    Help us find Christine

Generally speaking, i work with some srsbsns, have not laughed in 10 years, dont be frivolous types.
I used to think that i was the only person in my organisation that owned a Gaming PC/Console/Game. I also used to think that i needed to make doubly sure that i did not let any gaming meme or term or whatever leak into my professional environment.
I also remember once, sending off a work email to my CEO signed : Best Regards - Alfred von Tirpitz - Triumvir - RoK... and having to explain why i should not be tested for schizophrenia. Recruiting in CN and working at work, multitasking.. do not gel, well.
Recently however, the same CEO in a meeting of departmental heads and quarterly review event type thing with cold sandwiches and hot coffee... was presenting the dismal performance of a particular SBU and was using a chart which tracked their performance.
It was at that point that i let loose a laugh that was abruptly cut off as i saw the other members of the meeting look strangely at me and the CEO.
The meeting proceeded normally when the CEO informed everyone that it was an inside joke.. whew.
Later the two of us got together to compare notes on Skyrim, Oblivion and Lost Odyssey.

Last month i was traveling, a long long long road trip.
About halfway through the trip, the car radio started picking up a particular song on the FM stations from the cities we passed. It is a rather catchy song and soon the four of us were humming along. Nothing special so far, right?
This was of course in India, for that is where i live. The first time we heard this song was in the state of Maharashtra. It is a predominantly Marathi speaking state. Those that know India will know that once you cross state borders within India, the languages change. Almost each state [except the cow belt] has its own language and a !@#$ton of dialects therein. Now the song which we are talking about was from a Tamil Movie. Tamil being the language of Tamilnadu, a state at the very south of India. Half a nation away.
All the states we passed, the song followed us on the music radio stations. And yes it had become a pan India Hit.
That is nice and all and yeah its a good catchy song.
Today morning i got a mail from one of the Dutch friends i made on CN, who has since stopped playing. And he linked me to the same song on Youtube. I opened up facebook, and saw some americans linking the song on youtube. Then Brazilians. Almost made me spit out my coffee.
I guess all it takes to be hit singer with a rapidly growing youtube hit count is a sense of "LOL"

Everyone gets taught that it was Christopher Columbus that discovered the americas.
When everyone knows in fact it was discovered by a boatful of the following:
    A Rapper
    A Rocker with long hair
    Bunch of Knights
    Vikings at the Oars
    A Topless Woman
Re-writing history it would seem is not just a CN thing. Folks in RL do it too.
    Proof
PS: Anyone know the name of that woman?

In the minds of many, the one real battle in the world cup. Inspite of a stellar performance by Wahab Raza. The lads in green lose to the blue boys.

Celebrations like you have never seen outside of a India-Pakistan cricket match, also equal scale in national mourning on the other side.
Regardless of what happens in the finals, in the mind of the average Indian, the cup was won on 29th March 2011. A fact : TV for the Indo-Pak semifinal were more expensive than those for the final. The streets were empty all day, and offices had declared half-working day just so people could catch this match on the telly. Record sales of beer the day before and take-away and home delivery restaurants being swamped with orders all day.

The Little Master was at it again

Now for the Srilankans in two days time.
PS: I am sure my wearing of my lucky hat while i watched the match on the telly helped. And the lucky brass knucks too.
edit: There was a 29000 seating capacity in the stadium and it was all sold out and jam-packed.

    Welcome home brothers.
The trek was hard, hazardous and harrowing. If not for bandits and fools, it was entanglements. You have finally come home. I bet it feels great to finally reclaim that which we squandered so carelessly, without ever realizing it was being frittered away.
Don't let the light flicker out again.

Started my interaction with computers and information technology at the age of 14, with a ZX Spectrum 128 by Sinclair Research Ltd. It was a fairly BASIC machine by today's standards. It was a load of fun for a 14 yr old, and my first introduction to the world of magic and power. Things came to a head when i got suspension from school over intrusion shenanigans and had my ears boxed by the principal.
So, chastised and suitably reformed i re-embarked on my painfully interrupted journey through the world of zeros and ones. Magic took on other names Intel, 386.. 486.. wow. Something called a Pentium, then MMX tech..
It was about the time i was just graduating from college that i discovered a game called Diablo. Gaming prior to that had held little interest for me since all the games available to me were first person shooters [if you could call them that] Wolf 3D and Doom bored me a lot, Duke was hella fun. But yeah, Diablo was the first game to hook me. So many items to find, so many weapons, so many armor types. treasure trove! In all its isometric beauty.
The next game to get its hooks into me was a RTS. Command and Conquer. It was like i had died and gone to heaven.
So the games i really dig till date are either RPGs or RTSs. One of the best that i played was Homeworld. I also had purchased a copy of Homeworld 2. However playing Homeworld 2 was another story altogether. I never could get to play that game, it installed flawlessly, it started up well and then 2-3 minutes into the actual gameplay it would give me an error and die. I tried everything, updated drivers, updated DirectX, changed Graphics Card, every damned thing. Patches from the publisher [sierra] did nothing and i got mroe and more pissed off with the sordid state of affairs. More so because i purchased it day one, and it cost me like 2 weeks wages at the time.
It has since been lying there in my game collection, gathering dust, and inviting baleful glances from me ever so often, whenever i happen to notice it. Yes, i held onto the grudge.
Then, recently, i was on one of my usual sojourns into *nix land. I typically install some flavor of linux on my laptop at least once a month, and tinker about. It started when i was in college and fell in love with the Unix world. Forced to work with Micro$oft products as part of the work environment, it was like a secret fetish, indulged in surreptitiously and on the down low, every now and then.
So yeah, i installed Ubuntu recently, and for the first damned time in so many years, i tried Wine. Because i wanted to install and use the corporate remote-logon software. After a couple of days of that, i tried running Civilization4 in Wine, it was not easy, and i never got it to run perfectly. It ran, but some of the stuff never showed in game, like the native resources on the tiles, like ivory/gems/horses etc. Then as i was at the closet, putting away the Civ Disc, i happened to notice the Homeworld 2 box, and i was like... "why the eff not"
I installed it, ran it, played it for 10 hrs straight. Worked like a !@#$@#$ charm. Jesus motherlovin Christ. The performance was much much better than i remember it on my WinXP box [it did run for a bit before crashing, remember?].
Since then i have tried most of the games i had in my collection with wine, and those that run, do run better in Linux with wine than they did in Windows. There is no lag to speak of, even on the higher gfx settings, no frame skipping, no clipping, no.. lockups, no unceremoniously being dumped to desktop with the ubiquitous dll or OpenGL or DirectX errors.
Among the games i have tried out and enjoyed on the Ubuntu box so far have been C&C 3, Teamfortress2, Oblivion, Diablo 2 - LoD., Sacred, Evil Genius and a lot more.
Funny how things work out, eh?

    So?
Today i get a call from my old mum. Asking me why she got three wall posts and one PM from some unknown on her farmville id in FB, asking if I have shown her my scars and asked her to behold my commitment? How often do i show her my scars and stuff like that. Then she asked me what an emo is.
My boss asked me the same thing about scars. He got it from FB too.
The sad part is, only good friends of mine know of my secret identity off world from CN. Or should i say, those i thought of as good friends. Did your perception of me as a friend change when i moved to an alliance not in your orbit? Or did you blab when you were not supposed to, and let some unsavory lulzers in on the FB handle of mine?
I dont care why you did it, or what you thought you would achieve by it. I shall tell you what you 'did' achieve; you made an already bored/antsy 36 yr old even more eager to be away from this cess pit.
    Shanks a lot.

    Metamorphosis
It is supposed to be trying and tiring, full of strife and risk, still is supposed to be worth it because that which lies on the other side of the pain, is something glorious. Think, uncontrollable gluttony while at risk of being eaten, followed by dormancy and defenselessness for a caterpillar, followed yet again with the epic struggle to come out of the chrysalis, only to finally achieve the splendor of glowing wings and the ability of flight.
Of course, it does not account for the chameleon that just happened to be right next to the chrysalis.
It also does not account for the shock of seeing some of your fellow caterpillars now looking like chameleons.
No wonder the butterfly yearns sometimes for the clock to tun back.
