  1. Complete and utter failure. Realistically, how do you plan on a bunch of people making moon/mars colonies and not wanting to attack each other? It happens enough on Bob, sometimes for reasons beyond any realm of common sense, so why would nations not try to destroy an enemy on the moon/Mars? Now while we're on topic, enhancing your Earth military doesn't sound like a bad idea. Inter-planetary nukes/lasers, resource transports, spy drops and all that shizzle could go down well.
  2. Meh, someone pissed off that they didn't get to raid you, so they nuked you in anger. Not to sure if it falls under illegal by at least some alliances' standards, but it's surely a dishonourable act. Kinda like extortion I guess...he basically said to give him your money/tech/land or he'll do as much damage as possible to you. No brownie points for that in my books.
  3. ===== Public Affairs Dispatch from the Global Defence Initiative ===== We have seen these statements of threats by the alleged terrorist group known as "Monolith", and are in the process of verifying their intents and capabilities to create hostilities against our alliance. A few hours ago, our logistics and supply base uncovered a Class-2 Remote Explosive unit secured to a crate in a munitions dump, set to cause a chain reaction which we believe would have destroyed the entire depot. Luckly, an on-site engineer had a Hurling M-105 Transmissions Scrambler, and stopped the bomb from being able to detonate until a bomb squad disabled the unit. The device is now being reverse-engineered in our R&D headquarters to attempt to discover the bomb's origin and possibly any unfamiliar technologies that could be exploited to our advantage. The "Warhog Mk II" Armoured Infantry Transport Vehicle was effectively used in the protection of infantry near the bomb site, where many were stored in a armour bay near the ammo dump. The Military Department of Public Affairs (MDoPA) has maintained an overall DEFCON of 5, stating that the terrorist act was "althrough a technological feat to bypass the defenses, it was a swift and small tactical procedure of which was quickly defused.
  4. Eh...Vilien & AJ, sorry to bring up reality but this thread is so badly de-railed that the train's ended up in the wrong country. Please chill out, both of ya.
  5. Nah, you're still a bit off from the truth.
  6. I think I should clarify on a few things before the conversation goes on... This all started and ended within a week, when one day on IRC one of the members (KSIStackz) threw about the idea of starting an intelligence agency for MA. It drew interest from a couple of people (including myself), and KSI said he'd work on the basic plans, take it to Kait and have it approved/denied. We got copies of the form and approved it, and KSI said he got approval to start the program. In all reality, I never quite did much in terms of running the group. Only one I knew was KSI and a fellow MonArch (who's name I will leave out for sensibility's sake), much less knowing who was doing any actual alliance spying (of whom was nicknamed "Snowfall"). I was only given the "Deputy Director" post because I was a senior on the team. KSI did pretty much all of the operation calling and general directions. I will not post details as to what happened, but in essence I simply oversaw the operations, worked on establishing the GDI as a small off-side defense team, and launched two in-game spy operations. Anything else? Nada. In the very essence, they were indeed going to be protected...the GDI was to function as a regular alliance, but would hopefully gain numbers and-well, read on: I wouldn't say its intention was any kind of special "elite" force or anything like that, but it was meant to come in as backup in the event that MA got into a war. As the alliance would be apart from MA, it wouldn't come under hostile fire by an opposing force, therefore being safe until we saw the time to be right. Now Kait, frankly I can't tell why you hold such a damn grudge against me, I'll just put it out here now. Wheter it was me ignoring your advice to re-roll during the gov discussions on my sentence, or if it was that one quote that said I didn't like you much in the untouched logs I passed to you (and by the way, it's crap like this that's why), I can't seem to figure it out after months of thought. Every move I did was with the alliance's best interests in mind. You even explicitly tried to keep me in because I helped the alliance in many ways. To this day, I still wub MA, but it seems like you're the only one that holds the cold shoulder. Perhaps even because you think we can't have relations again and you want to drop any warm feelings you may have towards me by acting "in a certain way". There's very few things I'd love more than being able to see MA again, and I'd do almost anything to see it happen. Now for god's sake, can you drop your stubborn attitude over private channels, warm up a bit and perhaps be a little more sensible over public threads? (BTW, keep the attitudes to private channels. This is already starting to smell like an episode of "General Hospital" and doesn't need to become any more appearent. )
  7. Against? What about with? Who knows...
  8. An Important Announcement from the Global Defence Initiative Today is perhaps one of the happiest days of the Global Defence Initiative. We haven't reached a milestone of pixels or nations unlike most that are mentioned, but we've reached one that roughly 2% of alliances ever manage to make. It all started when DSCN originally collapsed due to a complete government revolt. Bobithy and myself were close friends and stuck out for eachother, but ultimately we just couldn't fit into an alliance that reflected our colours. So Bob (along with most of the other people in revolt) went off to form the Socialist Peoples Army, and I (along with Kate, a new but equally enthusiastic leader) formed the GDI. On that day, we both signed an MDAP and our alliances started. It's been awhile since that first happened, and alot has occured that has changed alot of IC lives. In fact, I think it's been a bit longer than most of us have thought. I hereby announce that it has been one full year since the original formation of the Global Defence Initiative. Unbelievably, it's been a full year. A year of joy and frustration. Fear and hope. Laughs and perhaps even a couple of tears. Our character, determination, and diligence has brought us to our point of success. Our focus has been more on the adventure throughout the year than the end result. We aren't a huge alliance with sweeping numbers or members. That's not our point. The point is the experiences we had getting here, not just how many pixels we have or how many nations we've got. What it is about: It's about the tactical teamwork of Carib, John and Dragontooth amongst others when fighting Soda... It's about the laughs me, Bobithy, and Steff had in #GDI one night taking turns KBing French webcam chicks that kept popping up... It's about the friendships we made and struggles we had in CoMA... It's about the jokes the Warshaw Micro Coalition made up when preparing for The Christmas War... It's about the friendships we made at Monos Archein before our reformation... It's about those long dreams our old gov would sit back and have about GDI going on to be several years old...screw a couple of months or a year, why not a few... It's about the GDI Cafe and pages upon pages of virtual TV, burgers, drinks and snacks... It's about destroying the "Nod" alliance several times over... It's about that time I talked with Hoo and he told me about how very few alliances ever make it to the point we've gotten to today... It's about the GDI-Dyno duel and my personal duel with Jofna... It's about the patriotism shown by the members of GDI when put in the light of an enemy... It's about the long and difficult PR battles we fought on this ground... It's about my conflicting views between Socialism and Communism... (damnit Bobs, they're the same thing. ) It's about the countless times I've had to yell "IT'S DEFENCE, NOT DEFENSE!"... It's about the rogue we hit out in a joint-strike with Rapture... It's about our friendship with ARES and the ODP which we jokingly called our protectorate treaty... It's about crazy ideas our Head Gov came up with, and the ones that we actually did... It's about the forums that ended up being larger than Harvard University... It's about the countless other events in our IC lives that occurred in the GDI that gave us the experiences that we did... It happened. It's all happened. And it's those memories, friendships, and experiences that have made the GDI and anyone influenced by it who we are today: much more than just a list of numbers and pixels on a computer screen. We've made it. (And as for anyone saying that GDI technically didn't last a full year, hear this. While some nations split to KoTC and most of the remainders joined Monos Archein, Hummer and AGreatNation stuck behind, technically keeping the alliance alive in our absence. 1 of them may have left the AA for a short period of time, but there was always someone to keep the alliance alive. But wait... 1 nation doesn't make an alliance, does it? Ask Vilien. )
  9. Well then, I didn't quite expect to see this on the headlines when I signed in. Anyhow, I'm frankly amazed that there are some people who actually take things into a realistic perspective instead of complete bias and unsupported views. As for the ones that have mentioned that we can easily improve...we're working on it. (PS: Watch the AP forums for an important milestone soon (July 21).)
  10. Ignore this nation's post. He has been ejected from office effective immediately and under review for further action. The GDI apologizes for any harm caused towards the Roman Empire, and wish them only the best of luck in future endeavors.
  11. o/ BADGE. We look forward to positive relations in the near future.
  12. Well, the last thing the news was is obvious in an official degree. Seeing as leadership seemed to have disappeared and no announcements have been made, I've felt it as necessary as both a friend and ally to do so for their now-expired leadership.
  13. Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I'm here with rather short and brief, but equally important message. It has recently appeared to me that the Triple Entente alliance has fallen apart. From what I can tell using alliance statistic charts, the alliance dropped starting on July 11, and the AA now only has one inactive nation. I've gone onto the forums to see absolutely no activity. I'm on the IRC channel right now with nobody else on it. I've found the link to Demitri's nation, only to find that it's gone. At this point, it is only sensible that the Global Defence Initiative declare it's ODAP treaty with the Triple Entente alliance as defunct. For what it's worth, we provide our 48 hours notice to the public. To everyone who knew the Triple Entente, it is with sad news that I announce that it appears to be that the Triple Entente has indeed disbanded. May they rest in peace.
  14. We'll be having another meeting in early August, followed by another one a few days before we depart (and probably a quick one the night before). Keep a lookout for news.
  15. Oh look, it's a "thank-you-for-thanking-me" bump.

  18. A new alliance can always use some new help. Bump.
  19. I fully endorse this message. In essence, the guy was pulling a Dr.DavidBanner, thinking that ghosting the GDI would destroy it, and simply enough, I didn't care. Glad to see you hit him of all people.
  20. Appearently not. Congrats to the SU and SWF on a new treateh.
  21. I think I've taken your advice well enough... you'll know what I mean shortly. (PS: If in doubt, ask USMC123. )
  22. I should make note that there aren't actually any terms for the surrender. However odd that may be.
