  1. In GDI, wasn't there just one nation that scammed? Correct me if I'm wrong... Also, moar plz. The sooner I'm at zero, the sooner I can get on with my life. (Pro-tip: Check my war screens carefully. You didn't stagger properly. )
  2. I, RyanGDI of GDI Blue Zone B6 hereby pledge moral support to the Crimson Guard.
  3. Thanks for the advice mate...for the sake of keeping posts more compact, I just trimmed that bit off. As for the answer to the main question: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=61337. In essence, kind-minded actions taken as rogue offensives, and because we don't turn our backs on our members for that, we got bombarded. Nuff said.
  4. Well, here's how membership will work: 1. Recruitment. Yes indeed, we will still actively recruit. We won't boast about benefits, but we'll let people know about our alliance. 2. Forums Application: A nation goes to apply on the forums and fills out the form, including what they wish to see from the alliance, and what they can contribute. 3. IRC meeting: I or someone else in gov will meet with the applicant over IRC and have a short interview to determine their ability to effectively be in the alliance. This is basically the make-or-break point of membership. 4. Acceptance and training as needed: Upon approval, the member is accepted/denied into the alliance. If it is seen as needed, they will be mentored by experienced members in the workings of CN, particularly towards the field of their desired interest. 5. Strict policies on membership: In the GDI, we had a policy that 5 days of forums inactivity meant expulsion. We never stuck to that. In TFA, we'll be drawing out activity policies and sticking to them for once. If you see any flaws, please feel free to point them out. I'm seriously for making TFA an effective alliance, and the more help I get, the better.
  5. Well this lasted long. Congrats on taking some advice Liam. And good luck.
  6. Same basis as why war on GDI nations would end with our disbandment. Allow me to clarify: In all reality, where's the difference? What, just because a (ooc: re-roll) isn't found out about immediately and has a chance to prove him/herself before (ooc: their identity may be revealed), doesn't mean the circumstances are the same. Alliances should be given the same starts as nations, regardless of who's behind their workings. (PS: I believe you may have forgotten, but I did spend a bit over two months at Monos Archein, and was in government during most of my stay. It's not a matter of how the alliances actually work (I do indeed have that concept well-grounded), it's about the way I conduct politics. It just generally goes about in a way that sometimes isn't the most desirable on the public perspective.)
  7. 3 AM in the morning, they're asleep. My MoFA's contactable by mobile, but it's best that he just reply when he comes on. I sent a copy of this and the disbandment thread to all TFA/GDI members. * - Time edit.
  8. Disbanding and reforming with a few, more so.
  9. No, I will not become RyanTFA. Seriously.
  10. Just a follow-up to this, I've requested an appeal for the single ZI, however it will be taken swiftly should the appeal fall through. I sincerely thank the Viridian Entente for their understanding and actions towards peace for the remaining membership. For that, you have my gratitude and respect in your actions.
  11. A Final Announcement from the Global Defence Initiative. They always say that good things don't last forever. Everything always comes and goes, is born and dies, and change is the only constant in the world. Not even the dedication of myself and several other members on the GDI could put us immune from that. See, the thing is...the second GDI was never actually all that great. Sure, we had better statistics on the charts, through better recruitment tactics, growth programs, and trade systems. But in all reality, the integrity of the alliance was virtually none. The government activity of the alliance was virtually none. I pushed some to strive for monthly goals established, to no avail. Try as I might, GDI was an internal headache that some days I simply felt like dumping. And yes, the PR wars were terribly staggered as well. There were some things that always gave me hope to push on, however. The support from the GDI-tF war was an incredible change from the normal bias and mindless anti-GDI propaganda, and made me realize that...maybe there was hope. The "RyanGDI" thread started by Lordliam, discussing about my character and competence, allowed people to seriously speak up and give their true opinions. I realized that the whole world wasn't against me, and that there were people out there with better ideas of what things were like than most. Then came the VE-GDI war. Allow me to draw the line right now: this war is not responsible for our disbandment. I do not wish to see a mob of people storming Viridia saying "ZOMG YOU DESTROYED AN ALLIANCE! DIE DIE DIE!" and etc. The VE-GDI war...was actually a help towards solving the GDI crisis. It marked the inactives, it pressured the weak-hearted into surrendering or deserting, and it showed sheer incompetence of some others (I mean this in no offensive way, however our recruitment policies were so badly slacked, it's scary. Almost.). However, most importantly it allowed me to see the ones that had true dedication to the alliance. It showed me who was willing to go to the ends of war to see to our safety, and to stand in defense of the alliance. The ones that were active, and the ones that I could trust. This allowed me to re-group them, and create an effective core team that will be joining me in the departure. If it wasn't for the VE-GDI war, I would have been dragging behind other members that would have been either unloyal, or would simply sway at the first sign of danger. For that, I actually thank Viridia. Good things come and go, yet in the end, GDI survived its purpose. When I first started, all I had wished for was a regular, steady alliance with decent size, and for it to be successful. And indeed it was. Yes, perhaps under not-so-likable conditions, however they were conditions at heart. And like pretty much everything else in the world, when something's served its goal, it's put away. When you use a gas pump, you put it back and drive away once your tank is filled to the desired amount. When you eat a bagel, it's gone when it's served the purpose of giving you energy. When you use a pencil, it becomes useless when you've used it for too long and run out of lead. The alliance has simply found its aging point, like the gas pump, the bagel, and the pencil. And now, it's respectfully deceased. The Global Defence Initiative hereby disbands from the bindings it has been united by on this date of August 20, 2009 at 12:16 AM. (PS: Due to time constraints and being extremely busy, the awards ceremony for people who have shown allegiance and/or dedication, and our members that have shown heart will occur in the next 1-2 days. I apologize for this delay.)
  12. Just a notice to the general public, due to the fact that a friendship has developed between myself and EmperorStranger, I see it as fit to establish our military forces to protect WOLF until the find a formal protector to take his alliance in, which then this motion will be re-evaluated. Nuff said. tl;dr - On my orders, GDI protects WOLF. Hands off.
  13. Yeah...for some reason, it's not that easy to find. http://s1.zetaboards.com/GDI_Forums/index/
  14. There are currently no wars going on between GDI-FAIL and TF. It's over, leave it at that.
  15. Indeed...however in the case of Zhaan, getting my attention privately would have been more effective than making a public show, per say. It was an un-necessary solution to the problem, that's the issue.
  16. Well then, if that statement's true then we may have a couple of differences in our operations, that's all.
  17. I'm just stating the facts. Stuff like this occurs in most given wars, Zhaan just needs to take it to appropriate channels without publicly complaining about it and creating more problems.
  18. Announcement of a Milestone Short, sweet, and to the point. We've now reached a sweet 150k alliance NS with our 36 members (aiming to break that old 40 mark the old (pre-my-GDI) mark). Onwards to 250k!
  19. It happens in most wars Zhaan, deal with it...it's called peace lag. The order to peace out with all TF nations still stands. The memo must have slipped a couple of people and caused a bit of aftermath fighting, but that happens. If you paid any attention to the OWF during the Karma War, you'd see proof of that.
  20. Since I can't copy and paste off the CN ToS for some reason, I'll just explain it here. Section 4 mentions that nations can only be sat for 30 days. Yet, it's actually supposed to be 2 1/2 months (unless I'm wrong, of course). Should this be changed?
  21. Honestly...what is this I don't even... I don't even have a formal response to this at the time, other than Lordliam now currently holds no government positions. Frankly, we need to have a talk before I can start drawing out lines.
