1. The government was suspicious, but given the dire circumstances the free nations of the world found themselves in (and her disappointment with the government rejection), it was worth a shot. Carter would be dispatched to Reykjavik, and he would arrive by plane the next day. He stayed the night, and then made his way to the Smauratorg, following the directions to the letter. He entered the 13th Floor.
2. A brief message was issued to the German government from the FRA's foreign office
Salutations, We would like to discuss issues pertaining to the security of the FRA, and the recent trend towards Communist dictatorships overthrowing democratic governments. We would like to meet with your officials in Germany, to negotiate either an arms deal, or some other defense contract. Regards, Reginald Carter Foreign Minister
3. "I offer my condolences to the people of the Confederacy. While we disapprove of your... social policies, we disapprove more of the authoritarian push being made against the free states of the world. Our nation has neither a quarrel with Communism nor with Communists-- indeed, we welcome all political and economic views in our people. What we have a problem with, is circumventing democratic means to subjugate an entire population. In Avorez, this was attempted, and we intervened. Of course, the new democratic government ushered in a Communist-led party, but that was beyond the scope of our problem. This happened again, in the Rape of Alaska: A communist coup backed by foreign dictators, which crushed a revolution by the people of Alaska after it usurped authority from their representatives. Our nation doesn't want to crush Communism or Socialism, we want to safeguard the freedom of all peoples to choose who they are governed by. We suggest, and this is only a starting point, a relationship based upon the following principles:

The right of a people to choose who governs them
Opposition to totalitarian regimes and dictators
Specifically, to defend against the Red Dawn threat, and the dictators signed onto the Red Dawn
Free information sharing related to these objectives
Defensive alliances related to the above objectives
It has been said that all it takes for evil to succeed, is for good men to do nothing. With respect to the Maîtresse-en-titre, we are all good men, and we all need to take action to safe-guard our future, lest that be so."
4. President Meyer arrived at the meeting place in Boise, and took his place, after offering the respect that the heads of the UKIM were due.
5.
"The workers of USIT should take this speech and realize their freedoms are being violated. Even in Novak, political parties are allowed to exist to oppose the Party. In your country, your leader fears opposition from what the people want. If it is what you desire, go forth and rise up against the elite who say you cannot have a revolution for the people, to have a government of your choice. You will have my full support." - Ali Nasir Muhammad Husani, Deputy Chairman of the CCPN.
Private to the CCPN Good sirs, Where was your condemnation when Alaska's people were trampled on by the Communists, both foreigners in the URSR and UFE, and domestic terrorists? The will of the people and their democratically elected government didn't seem to matter much there, did it? Only the iron fist of Communism. And when Communism toppled the government, the people rose up, and so the Communists again went against the will of the people, and opposed a revolution against the Communists. Where was your revolutionary spirit then? The elitist communists, villains ignoring the will of the people of Alaska, who yearned for freedom, were not worth your contempt? Does having the same ideological brand exempt them from harsh words? Because these same crooks-- in Athens, in the UFE, in the URSR-- are sitting at the table of the Red Dawn, a group your nation is a signatory to, a group which pledges to inevitably violate the right of a people to choose who governs them, if anyone. Your allies are the enemy of freedom, and anyone who aids them in their rape of lady liberty is too. I hope Novak comes to their senses and realizes the error they have made. Regards, President Meyer Federal Republic of America OOC: Roooooooooboooot hooooouse!
6. Private: I understand now, and then we shall amend the offer, if you're still game. Protection from foreign instigators will be provided for only the effort made towards the points. We will assist your rebuilding efforts when at least the first point is met, the second point being met would confer an even larger effort to rebuild your nation, and the third point can be written off as it is of little importance. Does this seem fair?
7. The reply would be brief: If you cannot get your legislature to pass a bill which will comply with these terms, amending the constitution, or otherwise allowing our request to be met, we will neither provide a deterrent for outside Communists, nor support your rebuilding process; unless, something changes in the situation and intervention is absolutely necessary. It's entirely up to you. Regards, President Meyer Federal Republic of America
8. OOC: I'm much closer, but if you don't need the military we're willing to help you rebuild following the failed rebellion. I hadn't read the recent response to Fizzy, so had to modify this a little bit. IC: Natas would be contacted by President Meyer of the Federal Republic of America, privately Mr. Natas, In response to your plea, and the attempt by the rebels to contact the URSR ( we cannot emphasize enough the threat here ), the support of the Federal Republic is being offered to you in countering this extremist communist threat and protecting you from foreign Communists. Troops, supplies, workers money, it's at your disposal, should you need it. Help in rebuilding any destroyed infrastructure will be granted as well. However, we need something in return: 1. Negotiation between laborers/unions and the government, to hammer out and implement legislation that gives a fair shake to laborers and unions. 2. Immediately following the end of the crisis, an election is to be called on all levels of government. 3. Amnesty be given for rebels who defect, or surrender Respond with haste, President Meyer Federal Republic of America Two divisions from the Eastern District in Kentucky would be mobilized and prepared for deployment to the Midwest, should the offer be accepted. The FAASNF would be prepared, with ten wings of fighters and the AC-130 wing fueled and ready to go. Two divisions from the Central District would be poised to enter from Missouri-- the rest were already on alert due to the incident in Alaska. Four divisions from the Western District and five divisions from the Southern District would be diverted temporarily to the Central District-- relations with Pravus Ingruo and the CAS were good, so there was no need for such a large presence. Engineer corps would be ready to go in restoring the Republic's neighbors.
9. Private to Athens "We recognize the deportation of our citizens and the recall of Athenian nationals. Athenian nationals will remain unmolested during their departure from the Federal Republic of America. We ask the same courtesy for FRA nationals being removed from Athenian soil, that they remain unharmed during the detention and deportation process, and that if they're willing to leave voluntarily they be allowed to do so. Regards, Reginald Carter Foreign Minister Federal Republic of America" A diplomatic missive would be issued to any citizens in Athens, if they could be reached, not to resist unless direct bodily harm came to them, and to comply with Athenian authorities in their deportation. If they were allowed to leave voluntarily, take the opportunity to do so, and come home safe.
10. Sorry I missed you on IRC

my girlfriend's over so my mIRC activity will be a bit sporadic during the weekend.

11. A condemnation was issued by the President of the Federal Republic of America at the capitol, in Austin. "Murder and the overthrow of a democratically-elected government by a handful of revolutionaries is not legitimate by any means. We also question the UFE, Athens, URSR and others for their support of the new order. We do not want your business at this time. If need be, we will compensate our workers and our entrepreneurs for any substantial losses, and we will encourage businesses to work with New Mexican and Confederate markets in greater numbers. It is the moral and just thing to do, to oppose this kind of barbarity by whatever means we can-- as we cannot defend liberty with arms, we will do so with our wallets and our words. The people of the FRA, and we, their representatives, are appalled; but, we are grateful too, grateful that we have a system where a voice is not obtained through a gun, but through a ballot box. Where a voice is gained not through the murder of the common man or of government officials, but through civil liberties; not through destruction, but through freedom. We are grateful that radical forces have no home here, a home where people are treated fairly regardless of sex, religion, or skin, where people have all sorts of avenues of change at any government level, and where people have a fundamental right to express their grievances freely-- and peacefully. We assume Alaska had such a system, like ours, and so our condemnation of the revolution as skirting these legitimate means. The remaining loyalists are free to make their way to the Federal Republic of America, and we will do anything we can to offer you a new home. You will be offered refugee status and protected from outside interests. If the former government survives, we will continue recognition of the Federal Republic of Alaska, and with-hold recognition of a new order. We hope you accept our offer!" Private Given the threat this posed, especially so close to home, the military was put on high alert. The FRAA and FRASNF were ready and willing to defend the Republic should her way of life be attacked by foreign powers, and troops across the Republic were stationed in Kansas, Missouri, and other northern states. There were, of course, no sizable communist or socialist groups in the FRA, but outside intervention was worrisome enough. Private message to the URSR Greetings neighbor, As our neighbor, we have no interest in a quarrel with you. However, given the current state of affairs, we also have don't want to trade with you, nor associate with you. What we want isn't always what's best, though, and so we request that loyalist forces and members of the Republican government be given free access through the URSR, should they choose to accept our offer. This would be done in exchange for opening our markets back up to the URSR, and a continuation of normal relations. We just want peace-- remember, it wasn't the Alaskan government that started this problem. What say you? Regards, President Meyer Federal Republic of America
12. If Avorez places tariffs on foreign goods, we will respond in turn and place a tax on Avorez's goods, business deals between nationals and Avorez citizens not included. We request you make an exception for the FRA.
13. Private to the CAS Fair enough, no complaint from us on that front.
14. Privately, to the government of the CAS Criminals as defined by this set of laws, or otherwise?
15.
The government of of the CAS had recently passed a series of laws banning multiple practices that the population viewed as immoral and not proper for the CAS, some of things banned in the bills were: - Abortion - Contraceptives - Prostitution - Adultery - Divorce (only allowed in case of abuse or if they are found to be too closely related) - Production and/or sale of pornography (no ruling on internet pornography) A week to the day after the bill passed the CAS military launched a massive overnight campaign on the violators of the new bills resulting in over 3,000 arrests, 100 deaths, and warrants placed on a further 1,500. Within those number were a significant number of Avorez citizens silently added to the list for suspected anti-government activity (officially they were counted as people that violated the bills), the majority of those arrested are expected to be released with court dates, some will be detained until their court dates.
The Federal Republic of America inquires into the circumstances of the "100 deaths". Overall we question the bills, attack the immoral anti-women, theocratic, and anti-reproductive rights movements, and deplore the legislature of the CAS for these affronts to liberty. Refugees fleeing from this particular law will be granted a safe haven, as is usual for political and religious refugees, in the Federal Republic. Among other things restricted in the bills, contraceptives and abortion are safe and legal within the Federal Republic, and divorce and adultery, while rare and somewhat discouraged, are permitted. CAS citizens within the FRA will remain untouched without cause, and trade between the Federal Republic and the CAS will not be hampered because of this disagreement. Regards, Reginald Carter Federal Republic of America OOC: Last page is win.
16. A message was sent to DI:
Republican Motors will offer a partnership with Drakon Incorporated, to use their factories and labor to produce cheaper police and highway patrol electronic systems and vehicles for use across the FRA. Of course, we would have mid-level and line supervisors on-hand to make sure this technology is kept in our hands, but this would provide cheaper labor and manufacturing for Republican Motors and employment for the workers of Avorez. Let me know with any suggestions or your acceptance, Harold Nussbaum Republican Motors
17. Response to the AFM's statement: What's it matter? A dead terrorist is a dead terrorist, and it's only the start. Freedom to oppress your fellow man is no freedom at all, and obviously, a state is not a supporter of anarchy. The request is refused, and further attacks will not alleviate the situation. We already stated the initial reasoning to continue involvement by Federal troops in Avorez (to keep it from becoming a dictatorship led by the Communists, who had already orchestrated a coup days prior to their election), and so terrorism will only worsen the situation. The AFM knows what they need to do for our troops to leave, and it certainly isn't what they're up to now. Keep in mind that you're undoubtedly going to get innocent citizens of Avorez killed in all of this. To the Avorez government and the Communists: We'll work with the interior ministry, police, and military to apprehend and stamp out the terrorists. Also, don't worry about our borders closing or trade being disrupted by this new state of affairs. Citizens of Avorez are treated just like any other foreigner in the Republic, there is no animosity towards you for the slayings of our young men, only towards the AFM.
18. OOC: You should have messaged me IC: Broadcast to Avorez's government and citizenry from the FRA military station in New Mexico, also put in leaflet form. The Federal Republic condemns the AFM's attacks. The very reason you have democracy and the opportunity for political freedom is because we intervened to protect that very freedom from agents of communism and authoritarianism. You exercised that freedom in electing the very same brutes who brought you tyranny, and while we don't approve, that was your right to decide. The Federal Republic will continue to maintain troops, and if attacks continue, we will reinforce the twenty-thousand strong army with twenty-thousand more. In Clovis Federal troops scout out an outpost of the AFM, and launch a raid involving armor, troops, and AC-130s from Texas, intent on capturing and interrogating members of the terrorist network who surrender, and neutralizing the rest. One FRA soldier was critically wounded and flown back to Austin, where he was tended to for his long recovery ahead, with the taking of five terrorists and death of about a dozen AFM terrorists. For the most part, after a sufficient number of captives were taken, the AC-130s mopped up the remaining soldiers and then returned home to Texas. The captives would be interrogated and treated as francs-tireurs outside of POW status, and once as much information was gathered as possible, disposed of. The information gained would be used to further initiate strikes against the insurgents, and the two soldiers killed were replaced.
19. Private to Avorez: Given Mr. Vanderbilt was the leader of the coup that transformed Avorez into a dictatorship not but a little while ago, we do not believe he will maintain democracy in Avorez. Because of the hypocrisy in meddling in your elections and espousing the virtues of free and fair elections, we're not going to remove him, as a democratically elected official. We will continue to station a garrison in New Mexico for the time being, however. Other than that, good luck with reforming your public education system.
20. The Federal Republic of America condemns the rising tide of a dangerous mixture of religion and government. An invitation was given to the secularists: They are more than welcome to assimilate into the FRA and take part in politics here, if they so choose.
21.
The Premier issued a statement today regarding the actions of the CSA, FRA, and the HAE. "We will stand down as ordered by the FRA. We will also welcome the former president and his cabinet back. We will hold elections to see which party shall be in control for the next 2 years. However we would like some breathing space, in that we want it so that every time we change our government we dont want to have Federal troops invading our country. We also ask that all federal troops leave the former state of New Mexico. As for the CSA we were not thinking of invading once our revolution was over."
Federal troops were ordered to ease up and allow the peaceful transition of power back to the democratic government. "We deny your request, for the reason that the requirement for the establishment of an Avorezian nation was that it would remain democratic and free. To be fair, we didn't hold up one of the rules (regarding leaving your country after 42 hours), out of... a pure accident, and so we'll be fair and will remove troops following the return of a democratic government to Avorez. We've violated that promise before, that is undeniable. We will, of course, do our best to remove troops after it's been made clear that Avorez will not return to autocratic rule. We will, of course, intervene when necessary to keep the nation democratic. Good luck with the elections." - President Meyer Meanwhile Commander in Chief Holden was preparing a report and justifications for military intervention within the state of New Mexico, to be completed once the successful reversion occurred.
22. OOC: I forgot to withdraw the troops I have stationed in Avorez. IC: A response was issued by President Meyer of the FRA "This violates one of the preconditions for Avorez's formation that we set out, and also endangers both the stability of North America, the well-being of our soldiers stationed in what was once the US of Avorez, and our economic and political interests in the region. The Premier will be deposed, elections will be held, and we will ensure sanity is brought back to New Mexico once more. I have met with Commander in Chief Holden, and we both believe that force should be used to meet these objectives. Given that we already have twenty-thousand men and a thousand tanks, APCs, and artillery placed within this rogue state, we urge the CAS to hold up, lest you injure us as well as the knaves. Thank you." Soldiers stationed within New Mexico would receive orders to lock down Santa Fe & Albuquerque, as well as highway 40. Las Cruces only had a minimal amount of Federal troops, and so they withdrew to the edge of town to set up a defensive position. Communist soldiers would be given commands to surrender and lay down their arms-- the overwhelming numbers of Federal troops to locals, and the superior technology of the FRA, would be our strengths. If they refused, they would be shot and killed. Stealth fighters from the Austin military base would begin to fly over New Mexican territory, picking out any targets that might threaten Federal troops.
23. Given the principles of the second republic, the website would remain unmolested by Federal authorities, nor would members of the group be detained or otherwise harassed. The secular nature of the state, however, and of most of the people, made it so interest was relatively low.
24.
Did the American Union fall into anarchy or something? (Steel-blue done.) Done.
Sort of.
25. Confirming the United States of Avorez controls New Mexico for the time being, unless he falls into disarray/inactivity, in which case I'll claim the protectorate back. Also, could the FRA be redone in steel-blue? :3 Thank you, Lynneth!
