  1. The citizens of XGF wish to welcome you into this vast world! If you ever have a craving for 'zero gravity', stop on by for a visit.
  2. For the sake of any new players, I'll quote the Cyber Nations Information Index: So in game, groups of people who are managed outside of the game are considered an alliance. The index does not specify 'sharing of the same in game affiliation as an alliance'. So everyone in 'none' can legally call themselves an alliance so long as they have an off site management system. Actually, since alliances are player created groups, alliances with only one person should not be possible. The creation of an alliance in game should require at least two nations. A person trying to create an alliance should be asked who their co-founder is. At that point, the co-founder is contacted via igpm asking if they wish to create an alliance with the founder, but doing so will replace your current AA if your wearing one. Now I quote part of your OP: To make this game interesting, alliances implement these things you mentioned to increase the depth of nation / alliance involvement with each other. There must be a community before there can a management system, thus making community a very large part of any alliance. One nation can not be a community, so there can be no management system. If there is no management system, there is no alliance, as far as in game is concerned. This is where an alliance gets to define itself, so the makeup of one alliance may be very different than another. The possibilities are vast, with regards to what exactly can define an alliance. I joined GPA almost two months before the War on Peace. The community back then was unstable, and at one point I considered leaving over it. But I didn't. I just couldn't. A stable community is very important to the well being of any alliance. In our case, we saw the need to stabilize our community, which happened while we were paying our reps. There will be occasional disagreements between members within any alliance. Some get resolved without anybody leaving, but some don't. Thank you for your post, Count da Silva, I enjoyed reading it. From, XGF
  3. I enjoyed our discussions as well, Ender. You gave me some great advice on my first nation regarding military wonders. To this day, I miss that nation, but I broke a rule. The donation deals were interesting to say the least. When you were in NV, you got nuked just after I had done a donation. I felt sick from that. Feel free to stop by #GPA and visit, even if your not active in the game. I'm not the most active in irc, but when I'm on, it's usually between 10am and 1pm CN server time. I'm in the same time zone as the server. Honestly though, Your a great guy. While RL trumps all, I someday hope to see you return. I'll likely still be in GPA. Sometimes, I get bored with this game, but something always seems to draw me back in. Checking the GPA forum while at work for new replies is a sign of some sort. I've got one thing I need to fulfill in GPA before I retire from office, and I'm going to tell you what that is. PM coming shortly. o/ Ender Edit (including my weird ruler name) Ouchneddnesscooooo.
  4. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, TailsK. May you grow rapidly! Also, I like the name 'Epicurean'. o/ /Epicurean! Regards from, Ouchneddnesscooooo (in game ruler name )
  5. It's always an honor to be able to serve, and I enjoy it. Our newly elected all show promising qualities. It will be a pleasure to serve with them in the new term. /o alden Been a while since we've chatted, I'll try to find you in irc soon.
  6. May PoF prosper in it's future endeavors! -Ouch

  9. New Nations! Did you know..... On December 19th of 2008, 7% of all CN nations were in war. And this is a low figure. To those of you who came into this game for the growth aspect AND who also respect that others in the game are free to run their business as they wish, I ask you this: Why live in a lonely existence that accompanies the AA 'none'? If you believe that you can be impartial yet respectful to others in this game, and want to grow, come join us. 11. New Nations! Did you know..... Courtesy goes a long way when you are trying to secure trades. Sending a trade request without taking into consideration if the nation even needs your resources is not very cool. For you to be successful in your quest to achieve a bunch of bonus resources, you must do some homework. Sure, you could spam a lot of nations with this: "Hey, lets trade" But don't expect many responses. Sometimes, letting a nation know what they will gain from your resources will be what is needed to secure a trade. Compliments about their nation also helps. But, remember this, no matter what: If you decide to drop a trade agreement, give at least 24 hours notice! 48 hours is recommended. Dropping a trade without giving the other guy a chance to find a replacement is not cool. Some consider this enough provocation for war. So, be smart in your hunt for trades. It's more than just clicking 'Trade' on someone else's nation. For more game related tips... turbo growth and and awesome community, stop by and apply at the Green Protection Agency! 12. New Nations! Did you know..... Knowledge is but a step away. From your nation's navigation, click on Game Related Links. Then click on About Cyber Nations. It's a decent overview that all new nations should invest time reading. Also, there is the CN FAQ, located HERE. 13. New Nations! Did you know..... The majority of alliances in this game use IRC to communicate. If your familiar with IRC, don't hesitate to visit the channel that represents the alliance you wish to join. A full list of alliance contact info can be found here: New Alliance/IRC Combo List Stop by our channel, #GPA, if your interested in joining our alliance. Or just stop by. We won't bite. 14. New Nations! Did you know..... Throughout the progress of your nation, you can view your strength changes in a chart. All you have to do is click on 'Charts' at the top of your nation. Not only does this chart track your ups and downs, it also shows you how much of each type of strength you have. As you grow, you'll begin to understand how each category is important, and why. 15. New Nations! Did you know..... Joining an alliance should be a decision that you make as long as the alliance in question is in line with things that you value. For instance, you probably don't want to join a peaceful alliance if your main reason for playing is to enjoy the war feature, and vice versa. You should never ask an alliance for a signing bonus. Communication with your recruiter should consist of dialogue that establishes a base relationship between you and the prospective alliance. When you have bonded to an alliance, and they to you, then is when you will see that people don't mind giving you some aid. You must give to receive. 16. New Nations! Did you know..... Finding resource trades is a very important part of your growth, at any stage. So, your a new nation, and you want to search out trades. Do this: Click "Advanced Search" at the bottom of your nation. Then scroll down to "Advanced Trade Search Panel" You can search for one resource, or more if you wish. One rule for resources though, never double up on trades. Two aluminums do not double their benefits. If you are doubled up on resources, you are wasting a trade slot. Your connected resources should always be an even number. Becoming a member of the GPA will give you access to our economic guides, which include lists of resources that best fit your nation. 17. New Nations! Did you know..... The first mistake most new nations make... is collecting taxes prior to optimizing the nation. Many things play a part in successful tax collections. All this info can be found here, on CN's forum, but who has time to search? Nation optimization, outside of trade agreements, only takes a few minutes. When you apply for membership at the Green Protection Agency, be sure to ask for help getting the most basic nation settings done right. Get optimized today! Join the GPA! 19. New Nations! Did you know..... Allowing site adds to be visible will give you a boost in earnings. These are important while your nation is in it's early stage of infancy. How do you do it? Easy, click "My Profile" and be sure that you have a check mark in "Site ads for nation bonus". 21. Sure thing Sereana. My name here happens to be my nation name in game. I go by 'Ouch' elsewhere. Of importance, regarding the OP: This recruitment thread uses an old version of our Charter. I'll have our Director of Recruitment create a new thread to reflect the changes. From, Xyro Gravi Flatona
