Our population has remained united, and we have gone through many struggles together. While we started as an isolationist nation, unwilling to deal with foreigners, we soon grew out of this stance. We became friends with many nations, in a peaceful way, through both defensive measures in trade. As of late, the entirety of France, save Brittany has been united under one banner once again, and French civilians the world over are ecstatic. Chimaira began as a nation with ties to it's Scandinavian past. The population remained dedicated to the Swedish language, and the continuation of the culture, despite the location we were to call our home. Over time, things have changed, and two of our national cultures have become closer, and have partially intertwined over time. These two cultures being Chimairan and French. With the creation of the People's Assembly, Chimaira moved a step further to a mutual friendship among these two cultures, and other nationalities in Chimaira, but these changes wouldn't be enough. Over time, expansionists, extremists, and ultra-nationalists sat amongst our military and political ranks and waited for their moment to rise up. This happened just lately with the Conti incident, and has exposed the corruption within the government. Through the government's success in holding together and combating this inner-threat, the far-right wing and far-left wing elements of our government have exposed themselves as traitors, and through the unity of the remaining government, and showing we can all work together, we have proved that we dislike these elements, and want to continue on without them. Through much patience, and many talks, our goal has become apparent, Unity. The few cultures that call Chimaira home have learned to co-exist, with the larger, French and Chimairan becoming closer and closer by day. Through EFTA, we found friends, and began our closer ties with the outside world. Through these talks we've established key points, and our government wishes to not keep these secret, but release them to the world, and share the new Chimaira. These talks have made the following apparent: - Chimaira needs to be de-centralized, some democratization and democratic reforms must be passed. - The CNP must be dissolved, and replaced by the Norman People's Party, a centrist group that represents the interest of all Chimairan civilians. - The Chimairan state must be reorganized, and rid itself of the Chimairan name. This name is stained, and holds no tie to our cultural past. And with these goals apparent, and the oncoming surge of democratic reforms, Presidenten Elrich von Richt hereby proclaimsThe Chimairan State defunct, and it's replacement by the Republic of Normandy, representing the ties of Scandinavia and French civilians to their past, and a unity through it. Many of the top governmental officials shall remain the same, and we hope that through the changes to take place now, and in the future in "Chimaira", that we may make ourselves on better terms with the citizens in our nation, and with foreign nations outside our borders. Our officials languages are to as of now be Swedish [svenska] and French [Français].
