"Top Gear congratulates its new acquaintances on this fine document."

"Hm, is this an attempt to isolate the Krieg Empire? Nevertheless, we congratulate you on this pact."

"I suspect it is a result of honest friendship, and the proximity of their nations."

Declaration published in Conti’s official gazette, the Journal of Records, on the 18th August 2009.

“Recents events in Europe have convinced the Bailiwick that neutrality is no longer a viable option to secure its borders and protect its sovereignty. By joining Scotland and Euzkadi in the Iberian Pact, Conti is aiming to contribute actively to the defence of its interest and that of its allies, as stated in the above treaty.”

The United Netherlands will be unable to join this pace because of our neutrality but we do seek closer diplomatic ties to those countries involved. For the remainder we would like to congratulate you with this treaty that might stabilize the region.

We thank the Dutch for their sentiment, we too are willing to begin dialog on improving existing relations between our respective nations. However your ties to the Krieg Empire (OOC: that is still in force right?) give us cause for concern.

We are pleased to have sealed this accord, we shall stand as a collective beacon of progress and stability in Western Europe.

Rakata echoes the sentiments of our dutch comrades, and we appluad this move to provide a closer and more integrated unity in Iberia.

Many thanks to the government of Rakata, the Pact shall stand firm in maintaining both social and economic progress in our area of Europe.

We can understand your sentiments. However our ties with the Krieg Empire are currently under review by the States-General as it is assumed that the Secretary of Foreign Affairs went too far. There might even be full scaled parliamentary investigation into his role and possibly his political future. A friendship treaty between the Krieg Empire and the United Netherlands was turned down by the Statenvergadering (Lower House) as it would endanger our sovereignty and neutrality.

The United Netherlands would be delighted to initiate a dialog with the Euzkadi Republic on improving our existing relations between our respective nations as we have the feeling that they have somewhat deteriorated.

France is pleased to welcome Portugal's entry into the Pact. May the nations of Western Europe stand in solidarity for the common good.

Aid: "Did you see sir? A Pact for Western European nations, sounds like something we should get into.."

Emperor: "Hmm? Oh, no actually those public statements are a sham, they created that pact with the sole purpose to keep us out, actually."

Aid: "Shame really. I always loved Scotland in the spring.."

Emperor: "Wait till you see it in the dead heat of the summer.." he muttered.

Aid: "What was that sir?"

Emperor: "Nothing. Get back to work, I dont pay you to sit around and compliment our rivals."
