Until Death Do Us Part

OOC: Everyone's invited to this, just have your leader show up at the Botanical Gardens or if ceremony isn't your thing, at the party afterward. Don't ask for clearance, you've been given it, just RP the leader arriving or having already have been there. But please, more than anything, have fun with the writing. :)

It was one of those days where even a painting wouldn't be able to describe it, a cloudless sky, a bright sun, and the flowers on the ground seemed to give off the sweetest scent that hovered in the air. Sarah sat on the windowsill of the City Hall and looked out over Brisbane, off in the distance she could see the Botanical Gardens and the green and white lace hung in the trees, within hours she would be under the shade of those trees and in the wooden gazebo that was painted a brilliant shade of white she was to marry Larsa Solidor. The entire country was pulsating with excitement, for the amount of pain, instability and sorrow that the Hansa had gone through as of recent not much filled the people with hope as of late, but with the marriage of their leader many hoped that it would begin to change for the better, Sarah's happiness was the happiness of the country and it was the evidence that a brighter future was ahead.

Stepping off of the windowsill she walked over to the great mirror situated in the center of the room and looked at herself with soft eyes. Her blonde hair fell in loose curls around her shoulders, emerald glitter was dusted around her eyes and her fingernails were filled to a sharp perfection, the maids had done a wonderful job at making her feel truly beautiful. But there were no words to describe the feelings in her stomach, happiness, confusion, fear, and utter joy. She was after all, twenty-seven years old, a ripe age for marriage. But what was to come after this, a family? Surely, but when, what of the state? These were all questions that she felt needed an answer right away, but she couldn't think of how to do so.

"Lady Sarah?" The door opened and a plump maid with a red face walked in and smiled. "Your Ladyship, you look wonderful."

"So I've been told. You have all done a wonderful job. The entire city feels like its part of the ceremony."

"That's because it is Your Ladyship, everyone's so happy that the marriage is on such a blessed day and the foreign leaders have already begun to arrive."

"Good, then our invitations got to the countries successfully."

"But it wouldn't matter anyways Lady Sarah. The only people that matter today are you and Lord Larsa. Even if the world was dead an abandoned the sun would still shine down on you two."

Sarah smiled and held back her tears, the glitter would run if she cried. The maid took out the veil from behind her and placed in on Sarah's head like a royal crown then turned. "We'll be downstairs, the limousine has already arrived to take you to the Gardens." The maid bowed and left the room as Sarah put on the white heels and walked towards the wooden doors. She picked up the bouquet of white and green roses and walked down to the Main Hall. There were the servants and officers of her military and many members of the newly elected Diet. Slowly as she walked down the stairs a soft applause started, Larsa was already at the Garden with his escorts and men, along with the foreign leaders who had arrived. Slowly she stepped into the limousine and the vehicle took off down the road as Sarah sat silent alone with her thoughts.

If Larsa tried to tell anyone that he was not nervous, he would be a liar. Though in times like this those years of military discipline really paid off. Of course, the men did little to ease the nervousness but this was a day for people to enjoy, not to be scolded, he'd have plenty of time to get the last laugh in later.

Engaging in idle chatter was about the only thing to do at present, so he did just that.

"Biggun, eh Marshal?" quipped one of the nearby Lieutenants.

"Biggun indeed."

Getting the invitation made Mikhail and Rania think about their own wedding.

"Does your aunt still hate me?" Mikhail asked.

"She didn't hate you, she was just dissappointed that I didn't marry a Muslim," Rania replied.

"Dissappointed! She threw a vase at my head!"

"So."

"An charged at me with a chair!"

"And?"

"It took 5 guards to restrain her!"

"... yeah, she still hates you."

Official Reply:

We are sorry to announce that neither Mikhail nor Rania will be able to attend the wedding due to pressing domestic issues. We will however, send you a nice wedding gift, and send an unpaid intern to tape the wedding.

As the limousine drove through the streets of Brisbane a crowd of Hanseatic and New Cyrmeag citizens had gathered on the sidewalks and began to throw white roses on the street behind the limousine, to please the crowd and likewise her citizenry, Sarah wound down the window and pushed herself out the window to wave at the crowd, this was as much as the state's business as it was her own and truly as an aide had said to her in Helsinki, she was indeed the daughter of the Hansa, a ceremonial duty that was going to be relevant throughout the wedding. As the limousine arrived at the gates of the Botanical Gardens a column of guards in full regalia stepped down towards the vehicle to escort the young lady out to the ceremony.

Now the problem that had been bothering Sarah for quiet sometime about the entire marriage ceremony was that the fact that most men and women in her immediate family were dead and the Tintagyl line was almost extinguished due to war, therefore, unlike most girls who were able to have the comfort of their fathers escort them to the groom such was not to be the case here. However, instead the military and the Diet agreed to take the metaphor as the "Daughter of the State" and truly apply it here. At the beginning of the Garden, Sarah was to be accompanied down the isle by two men. Roger McAlpine, the new Minister of the Interior and Major Johann Kolm, commander of the Hanseatic Shore batteries to symbolize the giving up of the state to Larsa's hands.

------------------

Underneath the shade of trees, Bishop Timothy Doyle stood with an opened Bible while Marshal Larsa Solidor stood on his side with a troop of soldiers and representatives descending on the wings. Behind them were rows of chairs for government officials and foreign leaders, behind them was a great expanse of standing room for prominent citizens who had received invitations.

Sarah took a deep breath as she stood beyond the crowd as the Prince of Denmark's March began playing from a field organ to begin the ceremony. "Milady, are you ready?" Said Kolm with a great grin on his face.

"Yes." Sarah said with a nod and they made the slow march towards the center isle of the Garden and there the world opened up to her eyes as Sarah saw hundreds of citizens, foreigners, generals, and leaders looking at her as she entered into their lines of sight. But at the end of the isle her heart skipped a beat, there standing next to the altar was Larsa, holding tightly onto McAlpine and Kolm's arms she almost began to cry as they led her down the isle. Finally coming to a rest at the stairs of the altar where she was gently handed to the general. The parting of the daughter of the state had truly begun.

OOC: Heh, will Ranather Rukia attend too? :3

Also, I'm wondering of who to send to the wedding... :P

OOC: You could always send jed and Aaron with my representatives--disguised, of course, as they are not yet back in power. I assume invitees are allowed to bring a certain number of guests, am I right, Sarah?

IC: Among those who came from Promised Land, President Jackson was most prominent. He was flanked by two guards, of course, and one Anthony Harlem...they ooked on with various expressions, from a simple, small smile on Anthony's face, to a big, boyish grin on Daniel Jackson's face.

OOC: If Jed can come like this, this is where he posts...

OOC: Hehe...if the brothers bring a certain German Shepherd dog, would it be too obvious? :awesome:

IC: Accompanying the Promised Land delegation were two certain figures. Jed and Aaron Constantine smiled as they walked midst the crowds. Because they were disguised, nobody recognized them.

"Well, well, here we are. A wedding, to be exact. I wonder if they'll have a wedding cake?" Aaron smirked, of which Jed chuckled and elbowed him in the ribs. "Shush you. From the way you talk, somebody's bound to recognize who we are. We don't want that, do we?"

Aaron pouted a bit, but nodded. "Whatever you say, dude. Man, this fake moustache itches!" He complained as he tried to adjust the moustache. Jed smirked. "Suck it up."

"Hey! At least, I'm not the one wearing a fake beard!" Aaron claimed dramatically, pointing at Jed's fake beard. Jed chuckled and shook his head.

Generalissimo unbelievingly stared at the invitation in his hands; it was somehow delivered through to wasteland of Saint Paul City into his hands.

Although Generalissimo only knew them through radio communications he knew of no other two people deserving of each other like Larsa and Sarah... too bad he couldn’t attend, there was no way he was getting off the island.

Why not, why shouldn’t he leave? The bunkers ran themselves, the wasteland wasn’t going anywhere, and there was no real reason not to make an appearance.

With new resolve Generalissimo planned his endeavor. It was easier than he expected, all he had was to avoid naval mines and canoe from Saint Paul Island to Saint George Island, from Saint George Island a helicopter was chartered to an airfield to Rat Island, from Rat Island he would fly his private Learjet while avoiding the Amerikanisches Reich air corridor strait to Brisbane, and somewhere between the wasteland and Brisbane he would clean up enough to attend the wedding.

Dressed in a Procinctia full dress command uniform and toting his trademark unlit cigar Generalissimo arrived at the Botanical Gardens without incident. Edited by Generalissimo

(OOC: I suck at weddings. :P Since this is your country I'll let you proceed with the ceremony.)

"Im late, im late, I am so late!!" thought Motoko as she ran as fast as sh could across the ground the expensive dress she had furled into her hands as she had it pulled up to avoid it getting dirty. She cursed her drivers and her pilots before hearing the sound of music close by and she quickly managed to find the place of the wedding. Letting her dress down she walked across to where everyone was and quickly sneaked in with little attention so that it looked like she had been there for all the time. As she saw the couple she allowed a smile to cross her face as she half thought of a certain Russian Emperor that she liked very much.

OOC: Yeah, I'm afaid the dog would be a dead giveaway. Perhaps they left him with Laurel... ;)

IC: Anthony Harlem leaned sideways to whisper in their ears, just as Larsa took Sarah's hand. "Quit fidgeting. You trying to draw unnecessary attention to yourselves?"

The Bishop smiled as the couple held hands and turned their eyes to the altar and the cross suspended from the trees as the music finally came to a stop and the congregation took their seats.

The Bishop cleared his throat and blessed the crowd before beginning. "We are gathered here today, In the sight of God, and in the face of family and friends, To join together Larsa Solidor and Sarah Tintagyl in holy matrimony; which is an honorable estate, instituted of God, since the first man and the first woman walked on the earth. Therefore, it is not to be entered into unadvisedly, or lightly, but reverently and soberly. Into this Holy Estate, these two persons present come now to be joined. If any one can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace." The Bishop turned on the congregation as Sarah did the same and smiled, if there was one person that raised their hands, she was going to personally take care of it, before the guards would be able to restrain her, two nuclear crises can easily alter a persons idea of decency.

After a silence the Bishop began again. "Who gives this woman? To be married to this man?"

Major Kolm stepped up and released Sarah from his grip. "The Hanseatic Republic does Your Grace."

The Bishop smiled and began again. "We, who are witnessing your marriage, hope that despite the stresses inevitable in any life, your Love, Respect for each other, and your trust and understanding of each other will increase your contentment, and heighten your joy in living." He turned to Larsa. "Larsa Solidor, do you take Sarah Tintagyl for your lawful wedded wife, to live together after God’s ordinance, in the Holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honor, comfort, and cherish her, from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto her, for as long as you both shall live?"

OOC: Not at all, its fine as is.

Sarah smiled as he slid the ring onto her finger as the Bishop turned to her. "Lady Tintagyl, if you could present your ring to Larsa and repeat after me. A Hanseatic marine walked up to the altar and with a click of his boot handed a wooden case to Sarah in which was a golden ring. Sarah turned to her husband to be and smiled. "Larsa Solidor, I give you this ring as a symbol of our vows, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Gently she took his hand in hers and placed the ring on his finger and turned back to the Bishop.

"As Larsa Solidor and Sarah Tintagyl have consented together in Holy Wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, having given and pledged their lives, each to the other, and having declared the same, Bb the giving and receiving of rings, I pronounce they are husband and wife." He turned to the newly married couple. "You may seal your promise with a kiss." and turning to the congregation. "May I present to you, foreign leaders, and citizens of the Hanseatic Republic, Lord and Lady Solidor."

Sarah turned to Larsa and smiled as she held his hands. The first part of their journey had finally ended and the second half was starting to begin. Throwing her arms around her husband they kissed to the sounds of applause from the crowd and the entire state in unison.

The Foreign Ministry of the Federacion Iberiana sends its most heartfelt congratulations to our greatest friend and ally on the occasion of her wedding. Our president would attend in person, but unfortunately he is otherwise occupied... We're still not sure where.

Larsa turned to one of his escorts.

"Lieutenant. Would you do us the honour of performing the closing prayers?"

The man nodded slightly as he pulled out a small silver cross.

"The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up the light of his continence upon you, and give you peace.

May the love of God be above you to overshadow you, beneath you to uphold you, before you to guide you, behind you to protect you, close beside you and within you to make you able for all things, and to reward your faithfulness with the joy and peace which the world cannot give -- neither can it take away.

Join with me as we ask God's blessing on this new couple. Eternal Father, redeemer, we now turn to you, and as the first act of this couple in their newly formed union, we ask you to protect their home. May they always turn to you for guidance, for strength, for provision and direction. May they glorify you in the choices they make, in the ministries they involve themselves in, and in all that they do. Use them to draw others to yourself, and let them stand as a testimony to the world of your faithfulness. We ask this in Lord's name, Amen."
