      Out-Of-Character (OOC)/In-Character (IC) Tag Usage   04/18/2016

A reminder of some rules that are important to remember in this forum, and especially in times of war when the feelings get heated: What is not allowed: * mentioning or alluding to "real life," including referring to a so-called game, a server, players, and other related terms. * flaming. That's right, flaming is still not allowed, even during a war. Imagine that! * spam posts and attempts to e-lawyer your way around what is considered a spam post (one-word or multi-word contentless posts, images posted with no, one, or contentless words, any combination of annoying contentless spam phrases, posts like "interesting," "this is interesting," etc that contribute nothing other than a +1 to your post count, "in before X" posts, etc). * mentioning or alluding to Moderation issues or reporting other leaders ("your post is breaking X rule," "I'm reporting you for X rule infraction," etc) What is allowed: * telling the world about your alliance/alliance business or sharing your opinion about other alliances/alliance business as a leader of your nation. * mention of IRC and forums. These are considered as means of communications between leaders. If you encounter what you believe to be a rule infraction, post it here following the pinned guidelines. Alliance leaders, please feel free to encourage your members to read this thread and make a renewed effort to follow the rules. The ninjas will appreciate it. The use of OOC Tags: * Putting OOC tags around one word is merely attempting to circumvent the roleplay rules around certain words that fly in the face of what the roleplay section is about. Most notably: game. Note: Game is allowed in reference to the political game but not allowed in reference to implying that users are playing a pixel game. * Using OOC tags around an entire post is merely a blatant attempt to make an OOC post in an IC forum without getting caught. For a further detail description of what is an appropriate and inappropriate use of OOC tags refer to Megabyte's post here.

A Petition for Support for AFIS

11 posts in this topic

The special Congressional Committee on boosting Madagascar's global presence officially sends a letter to all nations, requesting recognition, assistance, and participation in restoring, for the international stage, the AFIS organization (Association of Football for International Squads).

In the letter, the committee proposes the following:

- The new AFIS will be based in Madagascar, a globally neutral power.

- Each participant within the organization will get one representative, to work at a new Headquarters in downtown Antananarivo

- The first official Tourney will be held in Madagascar, with a possible voting scheme to allow the tourney to travel around the world.

Responses to the petition will be accepted, and representatives of all nations will be welcome to air any questions, concerns, or comments before the Congressional Committee in Antananarivo.

Having been a longtime member of AFIS and great fan of the sport it represented the Athenian Federation was the first to pledge its full support as well as provide in the financing and an offer to establish a regional headquarters in the building that once hosted AFIS' predecessor FIFA.

The Faraway Ministry for sports and Leisure Activities would inform the AFIS that while sport was an important part of grooming young people, football was seen as a sport for the masses and not refined enough for the likes of Faraway to receive financing or state support. Rather, badminton, lacrosse, fencing, chess and equestrian skills were listed as some, but not the only, proper and ladylike activities for young Faraway women of proper social standing.

Meihua hereby accepts the petition, and gladly joins the AFIS (if permitted). Funds will be given, and players will be offered for sacrifice trained for victory.

The ongoing yet proven temporary loss of Association of Football for International Squads really was a loss for entirety of mankind. Bear Islands' Nation of the Bear shall be signing the petition of supporting this international sporting event. One question remains in the minds of the bear. Are You Ready For Some Football?

In order to get a bit of international presence, the Faraway Union would actually start funding a football team, the Faraway Football Faeries. In contrast to UN membership, the Royal Assembly actually could see a chance of this paying off in some way or another.

At this newest revelation, Captain of the Meihua'a Squad, Jin Shi, would comment, saying "I hope the Faraway team is aware that swords and horses aren't allowed in this manly and unproper game.". Edited by Horo the Wise Wolf

Of all the major sports in the active Commonwealth soccer wasn't the most popular, but it still had a very strong following.  The American response to the creation of an international level soccer league was mostly non-governmental in nature, with domestic leagues coming together to determine the process of selecting players from across the nation to compete for the national team.  Most of the funding would be from private sources, ads and endorsements with little input from the government, although some assistance would be rendered in terms of speeding up passport processing and other miscellaneous things that would make the American team run more smoothly.

Prussia would politely decline, citing the popularity of its own internal Bundesliga, and the necessary time commitment such a league requires of its players.
