WORLD CUP FINAL Meihua Takes Cup Defeats Russia 0-0, 4-3 in exciting PK shootout! Lets be honest: this game was dull. Both Russia and Meihua took the field looking to win, and it really showed as both teams fielded a solid defense, preventing any score in regular time. Leaving many people wanting more out of the game, the crowd really rallied as both teams prepared for a PK shootout. Jack Capstone, Meihua's keeper, entered goal-line fully ready to play, stopping the first two of Russia's tries, the first being a spectacular diving save, while the second was a poor shot directly down the middle. Artyom Artyomson (Grandson of Tony), on the other hand, had enjoyed a day free of Meihua's offense, and was thus wholly unprepared for simple tricks and flicks that Meihua employed in order to kick the ball in the net. Meihua takes the AFIS World Cup! Congratulations!

FINALS ANNOUNCED Athens Vs Meihua 0-1 Just when you expected a smooth cruise to the finals, Athens surprised everybody by falling to Meihua 0-1 in the Semi-final round. A lot of solid defense all around until the second half when Meihua switched to a more offensively centered formation, breaking through to score the game winning match. Russia Vs Tierra Del Fuego 2 - 1 A battle between two Cup favorites, and what many assumed would be the Final round match, Russia and Tierra Del Fuego went head to head in the number 2 watched match of the Cup. A battle of possession, Russia managed ten more minutes than Tierra in holding the ball, minutes that were crucial in the final moment of the match when Skorkosvky Petro took a header off a cross for the game winning match. Russia and Meihua face off in the Cup final!!

Big Day Matches! Meihua VS America 3 - 0 One of the prerequisites of winning a match is hanging on to the ball, which America spectacularly failed to do. Meihua took full advantage of their control and finished the match early in the second half. Tianxia VS Athens 2 - 2 1 - 3 PK Perhaps the most anticipated match of the tournament, Tianxia took on the Athenian Federation. Regular time ended 2 - 2 in a tie, forcing the match into a PK shootout. There Tianxia proved very unlucky, scoring only one of their shots. Athens moves on. Coming up next! Madagascar will lend troops to the Protection Force, which will have the added bonus of training Madagascar Security Forces

The Office of Foreign Affairs notes that the Travel Authority is tracking an extreme surge in Holiday Travel to Bear Islands'. Per the unofficial treaty between the two nations, all tickets to Bear Islands from Madagascar will be subsidized to reduce costs by 50%. The government is also fairly confident that at least one town is completely devoid of people, all having left to participate in the festivities.

"Von bear?" asked the Captain, very skeptical. "Yes, all governments officials are required to have 'bear' in their name somewhere," the inspector said, quite serious. The captain took him for his word "So, what do we have today, good Captain?" asked the Inspector. The Captain folded his arms in a cocky manner, and one of his crewman opened one of the crates. Inside were hundreds of packages of plastic culinary utensils. "Party utensils. To be sold for under 2 Bear Islands Dollars," the captain said smugly. "Damn you!" The inspector exclaimed. Madagascar had been flooding the country with cheap, disposable goods. It was in retaliation for last month, when Bear Islands started selling higher quality construction materials to the Madagascar population for cheaper than the local producers. "I also bring news. We're going to be imposing a tariff of 200% markup on your auto parts. In effect, a whole 2 dollars more in taxes per dollar," the Captain said, turning to his work in offloading goods. Tierra Tops Bear Islands In the first match since resumption of gameplay, Tierra Del Fuego defeats the Bear Islands' Nation of the Bear Presents Bear Islands' Nation of the Bear 1-0. TOURNAMENT CHANGE Due to the continue collapse of stable nations, that tournament has taken a turn, as both Siam and Faraway have vanished as nations. We mourn their passing. As a result a reshuffling of the tournament is slightly in order. As Madagascar and Russia have already played, their match still stands, with Russia advancing to the next round, knocking Madagascar out of the Tournament. That leaves only 3 other matches remaining.
