Just a last ditch effort for all you people out there: please stop using such easy passwords (and try not to use the same login and password for multiple connected services. ie forums and email, forums and cn, etc).

If you want to see about how long it would take to crack your password on an IPB2 board which has been compromised, checkout this link: http://lastbit.com/pswcalc.asp

Input the length of the password and what type it is (alphabet, alphanumeric, ascii) and put in "15000000" for the speed. This will give you an approximate time for how long it will take to brute force your password.

Note: This is brute forcing it only, not dictionary attacks. If you use a dictionary word/words in your password it will likely be cracked in minutes.

Although I would imagine technology advancements would cut down both numbers significantly after a few years

I broked it with my cn password.
"Brute Force Attack will take up to 5.19669097934947e+22 years"

I don't need to look at thjat link, I know how easily mine can be cracked

I've cracked windows passwords easier than mine, but that is not saying much when your windows admin password is "it456"
