"We are waiting to see if the nations most capable of action will take it..."

"We will not take any action unless the war, or at least some of it, ends up in Disparu."

"We do not intend to have any of our units come anywhere near to entering Disparu territory and if they do we ask that you give them a single warning to leave and if they do not you have our permission to engage and destroy them".

"We wish for no other nations to join with the Eggman Empire unless they ask for assistance at which point we will have to engage their allies to. We have also not violated the principle of being a gentlemen. You can still fight a war and remain gentlemen through certain conditions such as fair treatment of POW's and no chemical or biological weapons and such like".

The destruction of any Golekhi vessels will be an act of war and will be responded to as such. Our Imperial Knights are some of the best troops in the world.

"Then we would look forward to pitting our own forces against yours to see which side is stronger. However, any of your vessels entering the now restircted one hundred nautical mile zone will be seen as assiting the Eggman Empire and thus a decleration of war against the Islands of Ice".

Statement From Islands of Ice

"Yes this is an imperialistic move by us for more land, and we welcome your condemnation of our actions. Regardless we seek more land, land which the Eggman Empire inhabits and from which we shall take".

If it is land you seek, look somewhere else. Since you apparently have the worst spies ever, allow us to explain to you that our nation has recently come under a series of terrorist strikes. These terrorists saw fit to poison swaths of land in the Eggman Empire with Toxic chemicals and biological agents. So if you did succeed at taking over the country, you'd still have your hands full cleaning it up. Don't worry, this fight will be one for you to remember...if you're still around, anyway.

"Excellent we look forward to pitting our forces against your own in a fight to the death, our soldiers and military personal are ready to do their duty as we are sure yours are. May the best side win. Also regardless of how this war turns out we are willing to send hazmat teams to help clear up the toxic and biological agents once hostilities cease of course".

Very well. Nice you are so eager to get a taste of what we have to offer, try this on for size:

hammerhead2.th.jpg

The LDH Hammerhead.

Uses:Primary;anti-infantry, secondary; infantry support/dropship

Armament:Two M61 Vulcan cannons, 2 missile pods.

Crew:2;One pilot, one co-pilot. Can carry up to six passengers.

Purpose:The main goal of the Light Drop-ship Helicopter, or LHD, Hamnmerhead is to clear landing zones, provide security, carry out airspace patrols, and support/carry friendly troops on the battlefield. With it's heavy vulcan cannons, the Hammerhead can shred unprotected infantry and lightly armored vehicles. Combined with the missile pods that can take down heavier equipment, such as tanks, the Hammerhead is a vicious foe to meet in the battlefield. It's cargo space allows for quick insertions or extractions of small teams of troops, and providing the Hammerhead with a little extra firepower if the troops decide to use the firing slots. It has two T700-GE-701D engines that each power 2 4-bladed rotors, providing the Hammerhead with excellent stability, making it easy for troops inside to get accurate shots on enemy combatants. The engines also provide power and speed suited for QRF(quick reaction force) tactics, allowing it to race from one end of the battlefield to the other in mere minutes. It is also equipped with the latest jamming and countermeasure tactics, allowing it to evade even the most persistent of lock-on missiles. When this helicopter shows up, you'd better hope you got something big and thick between you and it. Otherwise you're paste.

To war! Well, that's the general consensus anyway. If there was one silver lining to the recent terror attacks on Eggman Empire, it was that the country was in full warrior mode.Civilians that hadn't been able to make it to bunkers and safe zones during the terrorist fights now had done so. Those who had chosen to stay now helped the military setting up defenses, serving food, and doing general tasks that helped free up manpower for more important things. The remaining Armies of Eggman Empire had reformed and consolidated their holdings, building up their defenses and equipping their troops with fresh gear. New recruits now had some combat experience under their belts and more seasoned soldiers had received a refresher course.

Hundreds of newly produced Hammerhead gunships were being shipped out to major cities, and coastal defense bases. Along the coast, any spot that held the possibility of provided a beach head was fortified. Mines, barbed wire, cement barriers, and a whole slew of other obstacles were placed along beachs and in shallow water. In Eggman Waters, vessels ranging from small PT boats to destroyers to the two large aircraft carriers, E.I.N. Filoviridae and E.I.N. Absolute desolation patrolled the length of the coast, ready to trash any seaborne invasion. Jets and helicopters soared through the sky, on the lookout for any spy planes or stealth craft trying to pick away at Eggman Empire defenses.

All the pieces were in place. Eggman Empire was ready. Now all was needed was for someone to step on the hornet's nest.

Airspace above Eggman Empire

Recon Bird Alpha Four Four Six

"You see anything John?" asked pilot Jack Strong as he slowly and gently banked the U-2 Stealth recon plane around allowing John his co-pilot to scan the water surface below. "Nope there is noth...hang on a moment. Swing us back around quickly I think I just saw something big down there!!" shouted out John as he strained to look back at the slight glimpse of what seemed to be a ship's wake. Jack responded straight away heaving the control stick hard to the left bring the U-2 back around.

"Wait for it, wait for it...yes there it is!!! My god its an aircraft carrier. Haha this is a great find, the information has been sent back to command and I bet you they are readying the strike aircraft now and who knows we might get medals for this" said John with glee already imaging the medals he could get and the women that came with them. "Thats if we make it!!" replied Jack shouting out and throwing the aircraft into a tight turn.

His cause for alarm was quickly apparent as a patrol of Eggman fighters swiftly swung in to engage the U-2 its so called "stealth" not working against the more technological equipment of the Eggman Empire military. This resulted in the fighters quickly entering missile range of the U-2 and after a quick launch the scattered and burning remains of John and Jack's was plummeting towards the sea below.

In total twelve out of sixteen recon aircraft belonging to the Islands of Ice airforce was downed by the superior capabilities of the Eggman fighters. However, some reasonable data was included before their connections were cut. For one they had located one of the Eggman aircraft carriers plus some escorts and even now the high command was planning an offensive air strike to take it out. Also included was detailed images of the Eggman Empire beaches which unfortunaly showed that the defenses were stronger than predicted and that for any attack to succeed a great deal of skill and luck would be required.

One and a half hours after the Recon Bird's mission

The attack force was nearing its target now, a total of six hundred fighter aircraft equipped for air to air combat escorted two hundred and fifty bombers armed with air to surface missiles. The entire attack force flew at a few short feet above sea level so that any radar from airborne sources would bounce of the sea and mess with the return signal. Of course as soon as they entered the surface ship's radar all hell would break lose and then it was hoped the massive numbers would count in favour of the Islands of Ice aircraft.

They were almost upon the Carrier group now and it was bound to be at best a few minutes before they were picked up on radar or at worst they already were on radar, in response to this possibilty the fighters scattered out into six squadrons of ten aircraft to better provide all round protection. The bombers split into five groups of fifty aircraft with two groups targetting the carrier only and the other three targetting any other surface vessels. It wouldn't be long now till they entered missile range.

With the Eggman Empire's permission, Golekh would like to send military assistance.

The Eggman Empire appreciates these offers. We are extremely touched by these acts. However, we must prove to the world, and our own people, that we are still a strong nation, and we do not wish our allies to pay that cost. At the moment, the situation is neither desperate nor grim. We would like you to keep your forces on standby and closely monitor the situation. We will of course be sharing as much information and intel on Islands of Ice and their military movements. If you enter this war, we want it to be on your own accord, not ours.

Should Kevz's armed thugs attack any of your holdings, you have our full support to use Eggman Empire as a launch pad for your own assaults. One last thing, if Islands of Ice resort to using WMDs of any kind, please view this as our invitation to step in and help. This offer is also extended if our enemy conducts wholesale slaughter of our unarmed civilians.

*Imperial Palace, Robotropolis*

Hank Voi entered Kintober's office carrying a stack of papers. Kintober looked up from his own stack and addressed him.

"What's the latest news?"

"Final defense preparations are complete. All military bases from recon outpost to major city garrisons are on alert, and fully manned and equipped. There is one thing however." Hank said. Kintober's eyes narrowed. "Intel reports that Islands of Ice spy planes have been piercing our airspace eying our defenses. It's also reported that they've found our aircraft carriers." Hank continued. Kintober snarled.

"I'll be damned if I let some punk country even touch one of our carriers. Tell them to scramble their fighters and have at least half their defensive squadrons in the air at all times. Also, ready our bombers, fighters, and missile crews. It's time to send Kevz a message he won't soon forget on why it's a bad idea to mess with us."

---

Alarms blared on the two carriers as the remaining fighters not already in the air prepped for take-off. Nearly hundred F/A-18E/F Super Hornets from each carrier soared through the sky looking for those who would dare attempt to hurt their sea-born home. Surrounding the two massive carriers were dozens of smaller vessels. Also, due to their closeness to the coast, little over 300 ground-based fighters consisting mainly of F-35 Lightning II and F-22 aircraft were now patrolling the airspace above the carriers. Almost 100 more were on route. A mix of cruisers, destroyers, corvettes , and support ships all spread out to provide the maximum amount of anti-aircraft fire they could produce. Soon reports from far out observer ships reported a wave of aircraft approaching from the east.

The aircraft split into two groups. 400 would head out to intercept the attacking air fleet while another 100 would stay behind to pick off any who made it through. Although Eggman Empire held the advantage of technological superiority, bullets still made holes. And usually the side that could fire the most bullets would win. The aircraft had one standing order:Demolish as many of the bombers as they could, no matter the cost.

The two airfleets soared at each other in breakneck speeds. Some 400 Eggman Empire fighters vs nearly 850 fighters and bombers from Islands of Ice. Both fleets had the sole obliteration of the other side on their minds. The Islands planes were tasked to destroy the two Eggman carriers and the Empire craft were going to stop them.

"All flights, target the bombers! Fire on my mark!" Ordered the captain leading the Eggman fleet. The two forces raced at each other, with both sides entering in weapons range. The Islands fighters attacked first. "Hold steady!" The captain ordered. Planes began to take hits and explode, their twisted remains spiraling to the ocean. "Wait for it!" Said the captain. Finally, just when the two fleets were about to collide, the captain exclaimed "NOW! FIRE AND BREAK! FIRE AND BREAK!"

Almost 400 missiles raced away from the Eggman craft and zoomed into the enemy formation. The Islands of Ice airforce had wisely put their fighters infront of the bombers to protect them. However, when the missiles came at them, the fighters reflexively broke off, which left the bombers wondering what was going on. They got an education in 5 seconds. While some missiles were evaded, or hit other fighter planes, a good percentage slammed into the massive bomber fleet.

Most of the bombers were bigger, and better armored then the fighters, allowing them to take one or two missile hits before things got bad. Surrounding them were dozens and dozens of fighter-bombers who fared much worse then their bigger counter-parts. The missiles had succeeded in chewing away over hundred bombers, leaving their formation with gaping holes.

However, it was apparent that trick was the only one the Eggman fighters had up their sleeves. The two fighter forces engaged, and in the turmoil, the remaining bombers managed to make it through. With the ordinance the bombers carried, it would only take 20 or so of them to sink both carriers, with a little extra for the other ships. Five times that many bombers could certainly cripple or outright destroy most of the surface fleet, carriers included. Now the only thing standing in their way was hundred fighters that the fighter-bombers could deal with and the anti-aircraft guns and missiles of the ships.

Missiles, flak, and hot lead at the intrusive aircraft as they dodged and weaved in and out of the maelstrom. The heavier bombers from Islands of Ice had taken up higher altitudes to avoid the stuff while the fighter bombers dove to near sea-level to avoid it. Destroyers, destroyer-escorts, and other, smaller ships were burning wrecks and some had already sank. A testament to the willpower of the offending aircraft to destroy their enemies. They were not invincible however.

The remaining 100-some odd aircraft that the Eggman Empire fleet had left were hard at work trying to kill the remaining bombers. At the moment they were winning. While having trouble with the fighter-bombers, the Imperial aircraft had found nice, soft targets with the regular bombers. Nearly 50% of their numbers had fallen, and with no fighter coverage, the bombers wouldn't last long.

One of the bombers had received numerous hits, and was going down. The pilot noticed that he was within range of one of the aircraft carriers. A mad plan formed in his mind. As the rest of the crew bailed out, he stayed behind. He made a silent prayer with whatever divine being was up there, that he hand would be steady and his family would be provided for. With grim determination, he steered the falling craft towards the E.I.N. Absolute desolation. His actions did not go unnoticed as several pilots and gunner stations turned their weapons on him. The pilot grimaced. Metal screamed as lead slammed into it, and the plane shuddered as it's wings were chewed apart. The man held the stick steady, as the burning fuselage of the bomber shot towards the carrier.

By now, dozens of small gun batteries had turned their sights on to this growing threat, and more and more ammo flew into the air in hopes of stopping it. The pilot heard the alarm of a missile lock, and screamed in helpless frustration as the guided projectile shot upwards to at his craft. The missile slammed into the cockpit, vaporizing the pilot and destroying the front half of the plane. The rest, however, plummeted onwards.

Deck hands and flight attendants ran away from the descending object, right before the twisted metal slammed into the flight deck. The remaining bombs inside the wreckage cooked off, blowing a large hole in the deck. Mere seconds later, the call was made and the Islands of Ice began to withdraw and retreat. The Eggman fleet had won, but at the cost of seven destroyer-escorts, three destroyers, two cruisers, and several smaller support ships. On top of that, not only had over 250 planes been lost so far, but the E.I.N. Absolute desolation was now out of commission until their deck could be repaired. A victory, but a bitter one.

OOC: Sorry for not replying I had hand written many different battle posts but I didn't like any of them and I must say yours was much better than I could ever do. Well done.

IC: "Damn it!!! That was almost our entire air force gone and we only sank some of their fleet which didn't include their aircraft carrier. It is very clear. We don't stand a chance of invading them now. Get all surviving aircraft onto the ground and re arm them as soon as possible. Instruct the ground units to prepare for immediate counter attack. Now all we can do is wait and see what happens".

"What news do you bring?" Asked Kintober, who was leaning over some papers on his desk. Hank cleared his throat and began.

"Our carrier fleet engaged an Islands of Ice air armada consisting of 600 fighter craft and 250 bombers and fighter-bombers. Our fighters and ships repelled the attack, with some losses." He stated.

"Which side lost what?" Kintober asked.

"Our side lost 278 planes, seven destroyer-escorts, three destroyers, two cruisers, and eleven smaller support ships. The E.I.N. Absolute desolation also suffered a hit on her flight deck from a suicide run from a heavy bomber and will have to be in port for several weeks for repair. Their side lost 539 fighters, and 142 bombers. We won the engagement, but we lost more in the way of tonnage, men, and equipment." Hank reported. Kintober nodded.

"Whats the status on the missiles?"

"All operational silos and mobile launchers are green for launch, except for silo 23, which is suffering from a jammed door. They all have conventional or napalm warheads as well." Replied Hank.

"Launch a salvo to get their attention. Military targets for now. After the salvo has impacted, have Blyzar contact them to see if they want a settlement." Kintober said.

"It shall be done, sir."

-----

Across Eggman Empire, ICBMs roared from silos and mobile launch units, and shot off towards Islands of Ice. It was only minutes before they began to impact Islands of Ice Navy, Airforce, and Army bases.

There was no defense that the Islands of Ice could muster against the incoming missile attacks and the soldiers and civilians could only do their best to try and survive. The damage that resulted from the missile attacks was enough to shut down two ports and three army bases. One airfield was also put out of action and various other military bases suffered damage. With no real response available a message was sent from the military command to the Eggman Empire asking for a permament end to hostilities.
