Manetheren
As promised, when Alaska and Canada were taken under Tahoan and Vinilandese Protection, they could hold plebescites for independence at any time. Much of Canada has already voted to regain its indepedence, albeit under a different government than it had before. Alaska has previously been content under simple protection, but across Southeast Alaska, a region with strong ties to Tahoe already due to the large economic investments in oil, gold and other natural resources there, asked Tahoan occupation authorities to set up a plebescite asking the people if they would like to join the Tahoe Republic as a State, join the Tahoe Republic as a territory, recieve independence, status quo, or other. 9 of the 12 districts voting chose to join Tahoe as a state or territory, one voted for other and the rest for status quo. Those nine districts have been admitted to the Tahoe Republic as the Territory of Alaska. Due to its size, Anchorage is the natural choice for a capital (it is the only sizable city in Alaska), however due to the voting patterns of that district in which statehood/territory only recieved a plurality and other choices the majority, it will not be the capital of Alaska Territory. Seward, on the Kenai Peninsula, which strongly voted for statehood by huge margins (primarily due to the fact that most of its inhabitants are Tahoan citizens working in the fishing and oil industry) will serve as the interim capital. Sarah Palin has been chosen as the Governor of the Territory by President O'Deaghaidh. Anchorage Area Border Alaska Territory Border. The Aleutians are part of Proctinia and did not vote in this election
JEDCJT
OOC: IC: New England wholeheartedly supports Tahoe on this. OOC2: Yay imperialism! Edited July 20, 2009 by JEDCJT
V The King
OOC: Mudd, we need to talk. >_> EDIT: Just so there is an IC answer and things do not magically repair itself in the RP: "Vinilandese authorities find the plebiscite results dubious, largely for the district of Anchorage and those around them as we a different outcome was recorded in our part. Tahoan authorities will be privately contacted in order to resolve the issue." Edited July 20, 2009 by V The King
iamthey
The Dominion doesn't specifically care either way; though we don't have an issue with the imperialism expansion of tahoe. Edited July 20, 2009 by iamthey

Generalissimo
Procinctia fully supports Tahoe’s measures to assist the continued self-determination of the Alaskan peoples. The government of Tahoe has been in contact with us concerning this matter for some time, and has been remarkably accommodating regarding Procinctian concerns. I look forward to further cooperation with our new neighbors, it’s somewhat refreshing not being the only government in the Bering Region. Manetheren
"Vinilandese authorities find the plebiscite results dubious, largely for the district of Anchorage and those around them as we a different outcome was recorded in our part. Tahoan authorities will be privately contacted in order to resolve the issue." As per the plebescite, joining Viniland was not an option availible to voters and likely is why the "other" option was so prominent in and around Anchorage. The Ministry of State is preparing another vote, specifically for Anchorage, with the option "Join Viniland" availible to voters. Current polling is showing this is the likely result of the vote.
