St. Louis, MO, Mississippi Confederation

Today, victors in the Presidential Race and Gubernatorial Races have been announced.

As predicted, Conservative candidate Sonny Perdue.

Perdue's platform focused on a balance of unity and confederacy, where the unified miltary would be built into a strong and able force to defend the Confederation, while it would be left up to the states what their internal policy would be, as long as it kept in keeping with the standards of the nation, human rights and things of that nature.

He was also a strong advocate of typical conservative ideals, such as supporting affirmative for the upcoming vote on the Castle Doctrine and is for the addition of a "Stand Your Ground" clause. He also believes strongly in the right to bear arms and a very laissez-faire group of policies concerning tobacco and alcohol.

His Vice President is Haley Barbour, who follows the beliefs of his running mate Sonny Perdue.

The governor of Louisiana is Julius Walker. He is a Conservative, but definitely the most liberal who won an executive election. He does not support the addition of a "Stand Your Ground" clause to the Castle Doctrine and feels that handguns should be banned.

Matt Blunt has won the election for the Governor of Missouri. He is a hardline conservative, but tolerant towards differing views. He has worked on a platform of party cooperation, but morally supports conservative values.

The winner of the Arkansas Gubernatorial Election is Peter Kinder. He shares similar views to Governor Blunt, but desires less interaction with the Liberal Party and wishes to push harder for Conservative ideals.

OOC: Huh...the Vice Pres. reminds me a little of William Shatner, though he obviously isn't Shatner...

OOC: Haha. He does!

IC: We congratulate our new neighbor on successful elections! We hope we can expand diplomatic ties with our friends over the river!

President Perdue responds:

"Thank you Promised Land for your kind words and thank you to the Tennessee Federation. We would be very interested in pursuing an expansion in diplomatic interaction with the surrounding area."

Drakoria congratulates the Confederation on their new election, but we advise Governor Walker not to ban handguns. Doing so will merely open up a new black market.

OOC: Why is an anti-gun guy in the conservative party?

"We thank everyone for their congratulations. Hopefully after we have become more established, we can open up a broader spectrum of relations to include more far-flung nations."

-President Perdue.

OOC: He's not anti-gu only anti handgun. I didn't want a straight across ultra-conservative state. But trust me I'm NOT anti-handgun IRL lol.

OOC: So illegalize the Colt .45 but let people have AK-47s, right? :awesome:

Territories Begin Incorporation

After the Plebiscites in Kansas and Nebraska approved their annexation by the Confederacy, the central government got to work on incorporating them into the nation. Border stations were kept up to enforce the 2 year restriction on immigration into the territories, but old road blocks and things of that nature were removed. Measure were taken to unify Kansas City West with Kansas City East, although the process is complex and difficult things are going rather smoothly. It is expected to take some time, however.

Also, the new Agricultural Incentive Act was passed. The Act pertains to the territories, hoping to increase the already large agricultural production by offering specific tax breaks for livestock and crop farmers. It is hoped that the Act will spur enough growth in agriculture to begin exporting grain and foods to other countries.

Classified Report to Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Samuel Birmingham

Message Begin...

To: Supreme Commander Samuel Birmingham

From: Field Marshal Russell Foster

Body:

Integration of the territories of Nebraska and Kansas on a military level has begun. Troops have entered and have established a presence in the old Louisianan and Vinilandese military bases. We have made sure that they left with all their possessions. We are now stocking said bases with our own technology, equipment, personnel and arms. Recruitment efforts have been brought up to the levels standard in the states and drill camps have already begun set up.

The missile defense system is also being installed within the Territories, also known as PROJECT OSIRIS. It will provide comprehensive protection from cruise missiles, significantly dampening their effect.

Our initial goal of establishing a standard presence and normalizing the territories is complete. We will maintain business as usual and follow standard military procedures.
