  1. The government of Tennessee notes the Old Dominion's offer but doesn't take any further action. (OOC: Cause nothing's wrong according to them yet... Also, I'm working on the story a little bit offline and I'll probably get it up next week some time because I'm on a break then.)
  2. The passage of the Wisconsin ( ) secession bill has obviously sparked a series of huge events. Of course, the first action came from the Tennessee executive. "This act is an act of treason. It is a cowardly action. It goes against what has defined and what has built up this nation." The military was put on the ready and was ordered to Wisconsin to ensure order. The following day, similar proposals were set forth in the States of Illinois and Indiana. On November 7th, 2009, both states had passed their resolutions to secede. Magnimer expanded on his Wisconsin action and ordered the military to "ensure tranquility" in the States. Kentucky has not taken any actions to secede and has condemned the actions of its neighbors over the Ohio River. The federal representatives of the seceding states left Nashville and returned to their home states. "The Federal Government of Tennessee does not recognize the resolutions passed by the States north of the Ohio." It has been rumored that delegates from the three states are meeting in North Port (Chicago). More news is to come as things develop. OOC: It's a little spazzy I know. It's kind of a series of headlines put together. It's the easiest way to intro what is going on though... It'll get deeper as the premise is set up.
  3. Tennessee would like to welcome its new neighbor to the world! We'd love to have diplomatic relations with you! The state is a little busy right now though...
  4. OOC: Crap. Thanks for that. It's been a long time. It used to be mine. I'll fix all that right now. Yay! It's fixed! It really doesn't matter where it is so long as it isn't Tennessee itself... But thanks for that!
  5. In the Wisconsin Legislature: Bill 00676 to hit the floor today. An Act to Absolve Ties to the Tennessee Federation This bill is sponsored by Al Timmons. Follows, a record of his opening statements defending his proposal: "Today my friends, I present a solution. A solution to end ties to a failing far-off bureaucracy that is of no benefit to us or to our people. Tennessee may have at one point in history have been a solution to our problems, but today, it is the root of problems. Military invasions took pieces of Tennessee away and many other attacks have been thrust upon the country with little or no retaliation. Defense should be a nation's priority. It is not Tennessee's. My friends, our integrity is not safe with Tennessee. It can no longer fulfill its commitments to us. It is time we take action. It is time we leave. We came into this union, we shall leave it. My friends, a new time is dawning. A time with stability. A time with peace. A time where our people are safe and contented. A time we must begin now." There were no objections to continue the bill to a vote... Vote: 234 Pro 0 Con
  6. NEWS ALERT / Public Press The Tennessee Great Assembly reconvened on Monday. Tensions between the great states have risen over the past while because the states have seen a lack of vigor and leadership from the federal government. It is the view of many of the states that the federal system that Tennessee has recently been operating under has failed to achieve significant results as was originally planned. Many of the representatives are uneasy as the climate heats up at the state level. PRIVATE JOURNAL / Wisconsin State Representative / Ned Collins It seems to me that these states that have since joined the Federation by their own accords now will to go again under their own. The Tennessee federal government has time and time again proved ineffective in managing a sprawling nation that has expanded beyond it's own capable hands. Whether or not these states will go through with it, I don't know. I feel that Wisconsin will though. The people here have too long been under the rule of others; their land treated as a commodity and a playground for the bigger dogs around them. Should the state take the initiative to become its own, I feel it only necessary as a patriot unto my home to follow her and raise her up... PRIVATE / President / Magnimer "I've been President far too long. Being the leader of a nation that has been pieced together is virtually impossible. I have tried to maintain it for as long as I could. The people have feared a strong central government... I believe their fears shall come to haunt them." OOC: Obviously the topic title tells where this is headed. Feel free to post thoughts, observations, or whatever. I don't really want any "outside" forces to be that involved. Anyway, I'll try and keep this moving forward!
  7. The Tennessee Legislature will be reconvening after their short recess. Work should continue on Monday.
  8. Tennessee has been very peaceful lately. Several important bills are making their way through the Libertarian controlled Congress. Namely an abortion bill, a bill wishing to expand the military (again), and a bill to "protect Tennessee industry" (a protective tariff). News of their progress will be made available as time passes. (OOC: Yea, it's hard to do anything interesting at the time. In a couple more weeks, I'll have more time to think and do something interesting...) Also, a copy of the Tennessee Federation Constitution is being prepared for view online.
  9. Tennessee has repaired its southwest portion of its defense network. Most repairs that needed to be completed from the last attack have been completed. We thank all of the friendly nations who helped!
  10. Tennessee congratulates the Queen on a successful first outreach. We'll be listening!
  11. *Classified* Dispatch to Apache group F66: Operation 'Overwatch' Objective: Assess the situation of RoB forces in the area. Do not fire unless fired upon. *End Classified* The wing of 4 Apaches took off. The leader took point. After about a half hour of flying they made it to the frontline... which had virtually dissolved in a mass of chaos. Sporadic fire came from below. The leader came on the com to his wingmen. "We are being fired upon. Unleash weapons." One of the other pilots responded, "But sir, they aren't even firing at us. They are just unprotected soldiers that are running away." The leader came on, "You will listen to me. We are under fire and you WILL return fire." The leader unleashed his nose gun. Bullets flew into the groups of RoB soldiers. The other choppers, slow at first, began firing as well. The leader of F66 grinned. He wanted to keep them over the river... Dispatch radioed the leader asking what was going on because they knew that he had cleared his team to fire. The pilot responded, "They opened fire on us. We are retaliating." The command was silent. "Very well..." (OOC: N Reeki, you can kinda respond however. It's open enough I think to do something creative. )
  12. The Tennessean Raptors made it to the RoB forces. Seeing how... insufficient they would be against a direct bombing run, the pilots radioed command for orders. The response was to observe for the time being. An odd move, the pilots thought... They wondered what was going on and what Tennessee was planning.
  13. Unlock me. I sorta broke it... but just wanted to clear me from the list here. Thanks!
  14. OOC: Yay! Don't kill too many of my people. I did give authorization for allies to come into my borders, so all that is fine. IC: There are resistance movements actively acting against the RoB invasion. Since Tennessee gun laws are fairly... well they definitely have the right to bear arms many people will defend their homes aggressively. Classified (except to allies) The Tennessee military is working to get organized. A lack of consistency and leadership is not helping the military machine roll. News of engagements involving allied forces have reached the Command however. Wings of F-22 have taken off and are moving to meet with the New Englanders and to meet with Pravus Ingruo forces (OOC: Which while it said they were classified movements, I'm guessing I may have gotten word of them somehow...). Tanks and ground troops are rolling out of Fort Campbell toward the enemy. The defense network around Nashville appears to be online and functional... if they even make it that far. We thank everyone for their help!
  15. OOC: This totally breaks my lock. O well. I haven't been on in a while, but stuff has sorta settled down a bit so I can RP to an extent here. Sorry to ruin your fun N Reeki This should be fun anyway.... IC: The first real test of the border defense system seems to have... malfunctioned. Obviously the technical design will have to be reevaluated. Meanwhile, disorder is expanding at the military HQ in Nashville. The president is pulling troops from all over the nation. He has put everyone on maximum alert. He has opened up an emergency channel with the government of Biff. He has also asked all the allies of Tennessee for help. To the Republic of Biff: We ask that you stop this infringement of a sovereign nation's territory. The government of Tennessee is active and functional.
  16. Hey! Guess I never really unlocked from last time. I'm gonna continue to be locked... not sure when I'll be able to be back (should be soon though not like forever) but I'll be sure to let everyone know. Thanks!
  17. I need a relatively short lock. I just need to lock until Saturday, or maybe Sunday. Thanks!
  18. Good job on the Tennessee border guys! It's perty!
  19. OOC: Haha. Oops. Thanks for that. I'll edit. Btw there is an error... your but. IC: We have fixed the clerical error. Thank you!
