Buryatia Handover of Sovereignty Celebration

Recommended Posts

Yakutsk, UKB

At the National Stadium a large crowd of people moved to their seats ahead of the start of the official handover ceremony. The capital was lavishly decorated for the event and everywhere there was a mood of jubilation among the citizens. Vaulian and Hanseatic flags flew from every flag pole and lamppost ahead of the ceremony.

Inside the stadium, a stage had been erected in the middle of the soccer field reserved for the VIPs and those participating in the ceremony. Behind the stage were three large flagpoles. The flags of Vaule and the Hanseatic Commonwealth were hoisted up the first two flags, but the third remained bare.

Buryatia’s independence was mere hours away and soon another nation would be born in Asia.

The invitations are confirmed and the government of the UKB has taken the necessary security steps in preparation for the arrival of international guests. Since the government has not yet appointed Ambassadors and Diplomats, the responses are sent via the Vaule and Hanseatic Commonwealth embassies to the nations.

An individually addressed, handwritten note, is sent to all the nations that have expressed interest in attending:

"Your intention to attend the Buryatia Handover of Sovereignty Celebrations in Yakutsk has been received and acknowledged. We have made the necessary security arrangements for your arrival.

If you need anything, feel free to contact the Vaulian or Hanseatic Embassy near you.

Sincerely,

Chief Executive of the United Kingdom of Buryatia"

A monumental occasion indeed thought Sarah as her private jet descended down to the airport of Yakutsk, there she was to meet the Chairman of Buryatia and the President of Vaule to make the transfer of power complete. A limousine, took her and her entourage through the city where she was able to awe at the renovations already taking place in the Buryatian capital. It was good to see another strong ally being formed in the midst of such world turmoil and as a voice for peace in Asia she was happy to be apart of such a transfer.

Arriving in the stadium, Sarah was led to the center platform where she was able to sit under the Hanseatic flag and waited for the ceremony to begin.

At 5:30 pm, all of the invited guests were escorted to the main stadium in Yakutsk where the ceremony would take place. The stadium was packed to capacity as tens of thousands of people turned out for the occasion. The VIPs and foreign representatives were led to their seats as the first part of the celebrations was about to get underway.

“Your Excellencies, Your Majesties, Honorable guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Buryatia. We thank you for coming out to celebrate the momentous occasion of our independence. Please direct your attention to the skies above the stadium as the Buryatia People’s Air Force puts on a display of their aerial acrobatics for your viewing pleasure”-MC.

Suddenly five MiG 29 fighter jets flew over the stadium in tight formation. The fighter jets performed several maneuvers from loops to Pugachev’s cobras and Split S’s, to Scissor maneuvers with stunning skill. As the air show drew to a close, the jets reentered formation before streaking off into the sunset leaving behind trails of blue, red and yellow. As the jets disappeared, the crowd in the stadium gave a standing ovation with thunderous applause.

As the applause died down, the MC once again took to the microphone:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we now welcome the President of the Vaule Socialist Republic, Mr. Treize Karolekov, and the Representative of the Hanseatic Commonwealth Lady Sarah Tintagyl !”

The crowd again applauded as President Karolekov stood and waved alongside his Hanseatic Counterpart. As the applause died down, several performers dressed in traditional Yakut and Buryat attire rushed into the stadium. In a matter of minutes the stage was filled with almost 40 thousand performers. A Buryat folk song began, and the dancers moved in unison to the beat.

As the performance drew to a close, each performer picked up a single card and held it above their head to form a large image with the words: “United Kingdom: Buryatia” printed on them. Again there were cheers and applause from the audience. The performers quickly left the stadium as the applause died down.

Once the crowds were silent again, three columns of soldiers marched into the stadium. The first column, made up of the Vaulian Military stood facing the Vaulian flag, while the Hanseatic Peacekeepers column faced the Hanseatic Commonwealth flag. The third column was made up of Buryatia Military forces faced the empty flagpole.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding for the National Anthems of the Vaule Socialist Republic and the Hanseatic Commonwealth”-MC

As the crowd rose, the anthem of

was played by a live orchestra as the flag of Vaule was slowly lowered down its flagpole. As the anthem ended, the Vaulian flag was removed by a Vaule soldier who marched towards the VIP podium and presented the flag to President Karolekov. While the crowd remained standing, the orchestra played the anthem of the Hanseatic Commonwealth as the Hanseatic flag was also lowered and presented to Lady Tintagyl.

The lights in the stadium dimmed as three soldiers marched toward the third flagpole with a flag in hand. The orchestra began to play the Anthem of the United Kingdom of Buryatia as the soldiers slowly hoisted the flag up the flagpole.

As the ceremony drew to a close, a large fireworks display lit up the night sky.

Once the ceremony ended most of the people trickled out of the stadium, while the government extended an invitation to all of the foreign guests to meet with the Premier before departing, if they so desired. The last matter remaining was for the leaders of both the Hanseatic Commonwealth and the VSR to sign Buryatia's Independence Declaration.

Though I am unable to attend, The government and the people of Yuktobania give the best regards in giving a new nation sovereignty. Yuktobania will hereby recognize the United Kingdom of Buryatia as an independent and sovereign republic.
