Bloody Nicholas
Treaty web Color code for now: MDP: Blue MDoAP: Red MDAP: Maroon bold Since the the Karma War graph went over well I thought I'd work on a replacement for the old treaty map. It will be automatically generated like the DoW graph so it will never look as nice as the old one but it is far easier to maintain. Since there is no way in hell I'm tracking down everybody's treaties I created a script that generates the graph from a fairly easy to understand mini-language. # are comments and get ignored. Bloc() takes the bloc name first, then any number of alliances. e.g. "Bloc('One Vision', 'NPO', 'GGA', 'IRON', 'MCXA', 'Echelon')" MDAP() MDoAP() and MDP() each take two alliance names. e.g. "MDoAP('MK', 'Umbrella')" Everything is case sensitive and alliance name must be the same everywhere. How to add an alliance: Go to the treaty map wiki page Add a comment with the alliance name "# MOON" Add each treaty (MDP or above) with the above alliance first "MDP('MOON, 'NPO')" Repeat until done Save. If this confuses you query me on coldfront ('bj'). Edited April 26, 2009 by Bloody Nicholas

Sovyet Gelibolu
Added RoK's, though I wasn't sure whether to use alliance acronyms or theur full names... I think the general rule of thumb is to use acronyms when they're pretty well known to the general public, and full names for either obscure alliances or alliances with one-word names ("the" isn't a word). For example, if I were to enter RoK's data, it would look like this: MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'ARES') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'Apocalypse') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'CSN') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'Monos Archein') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'Royal Order of Confederate Kingdoms') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'Valhalla') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'TOOL') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'VE') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'Orion') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'NpO') MDoAP('Ragnarok', 'The Syndicate') MDP('Ragnarok', 'MHA') Edited April 26, 2009 by Sovyet Gelibolu

I made myself do extra work.

Jonathan Archer
Only problem I see is that it can't tell the difference between NPO and NpO, or RoK has a treaty with NPO I don't know about.
Sovyet Gelibolu
The map is still a bit ugly at the moment, it needs some coloring work and some differentiation between the types of treaties. Will you be including the concept of Super Treaties? I always liked that concept. Only problem I see is that it can't tell the difference between NPO and NpO, or RoK has a treaty with NPO I don't know about. I'm not that enthused about alliances being in more than one place, unless there's some way to identify counterparts (example: FOK) Edited April 26, 2009 by Sovyet Gelibolu

Sovyet Gelibolu
I must have missed something in my retirement, what's a super treaty? It's a holdover from the Lord Sharpe era of the MDP web: a super treaty, as he defined it, is n MDP or higher with either no cancellation clause or an absurdly long cancellation period, that has been in effect for a long about of time (he chose a year, but this can be pretty arbitrary). Later web makers didn't really make much use of the concept. Edited April 26, 2009 by Sovyet Gelibolu

Otto Verteidiger
I can think of three that fulfill the cancellation requirements. Those are? I'm really curious, I only remember one. Edit: Question to any TOP members.. What is the deal? # The Order of the Paradox MDoAP ('TOP', 'Alpha Omega') MDoAP ('TOP', 'Argent') MDoAP ('TOP', 'FOK!') MDoAP ('TOP', 'IRON') MDoAP ('TOP', 'MHA') MDoAP ('TOP', 'NPO') MDoAP ('TOP', 'OG') MDoAP ('TOP', 'The Gramlins') MDoAP ('TOP', 'Umbrella') MDoAP ('TOP', 'TSO') On your wiki page it says you only have a MDP with these guys, not a MDoAP. Is the wiki wrong? Edited April 26, 2009 by Otto Verteidiger
ShadowDragon
Those are? I'm really curious, I only remember one. Gremlins-MHA MHA-NPO RIA-Sparta Those are the only three I can think of.
Sovyet Gelibolu
Gremlins-MHAMHA-NPO RIA-Sparta Those are the only three I can think of. I wasn't aware of RIA-Sparta. You learn something new every day, I guess. The third one I was thinking of was INT-LSF (which may or may not satisfy the time requirement, depending on whether your take its starting point from the signing date at the end of the LSF-NoV war, when it was a treaty between LSF and CPCN, or from the date of INT's foundation).
