A new Territory

We find it quite amusing that a fellow imperial state is condemning us for actions that represent his own government structure.

Provide me evidence where we marched Soldiers in foreign territory. You can only blame people when they actually did something.

You are an Imperial nation, no? We moved in troops to protect ourselves we are not entering any kind of combat. The troops are stationed in bases, its not like they are out pilaging and plundering.

Clearly you do not know the difference between Imperial and Imperialist as such we will quote from one of the databases.

Imperialism has two meanings; one describing an action and the other describing an attitude.

1. Action: Imperialism is the practice of extending the power, control or rule by one country over areas outside its borders. The areas so controlled or ruled may be called that country's empire. Imperialism is a branch of Colonialism in which the controlled areas are formally declared to be its "colonies" or "protectorates". Imperialism is also used to refer to situations where the mode of control is less formal ; for instance where the dominant country's influence or control in the subordinate areas is economic, not involving overt territorial conquest. (Age: 1815-1914)

2. Attitude: Imperialism is the attitude of superiority, subordination and domination over foreign peoples.

So an Empire does not need to be Imperialist.

And while they may not be pilaging they are there which is not defending oneself but an invasion.

OOC: True. But this is CNRP-R not the real world.

OOC: See the CNRP-R history thread.

IC: You do not need 800,000 square miles of land to defend 800,000 square miles of land. If anything, you've just made it more difficult for yourselves by doubling the amount of land you need to guard. We demand that you retract your claim and your soldiers immediately.

Byelorussia wonders why these American nations are so against the Agmarian holding of a protectorate in Nunavut. Their homeland is actually geographically closer to the area than many of yours. (OOC: It is really close to him, cross the Arctic Ocean.)

At it's closest, the Agmarian empire is over 1,600 miles away. At our closest, it's 1,500 miles away and it's only about 1,300 miles from Brunswick.

(OOC: It's really just psychological. Americans don't like Europeans in America.)

The difference is negligible. What's more, the land is simply a protectorate. The Agmarians did not subjugate the peoples therein into their empire.

OOC: I know, I just think it's fair to say.
