Nightfall came close. With difficulty, the translator asked the Dusk's if they trade or not. He also asked if they would need to lodge in for the night, which he asked the Storm Dragons as well.

Seeing that there was no threat, the steam tank moved back and went home; the BBC went home but the Steam Flyer stayed behind.

The translator began getting better at passing the core concepts on from the Samurai to the Storm Dragon.

"We are One." He pointed again to himself. "They are Another." He paused, straining to get the concepts across through the linguistic gap. "There is Two more. One is like Us. One is Not."

"Interesting. We are pleased to meet you. Will there be peace between us?" Talos inquired.

The Samurai bowed deeply.

"You wish such. It shall be." He paused for a moment, thinking to himself. Something just beyond the reach of the mind tickled his consciousness.

"We are Down. Much So. Food, Supplies?" He inquired of the foreigners. Might as well be prepared for the long journey.

The translator called over one of the SF pilots. After talking abit, the translator looked at the Dusk:

"Meat? Cattle? [The Artures pilot points at a heard of cows across the valley] Stay for night?"

The Samurai turned and scrutinized the Artures with a critical glance. He knew they looked similar to Them, but something was missing. Some aura of power which came from the nonexistent beings. He unconsciously tapped a foot while speaking.

"We wonder who is this?" At the response he bounced slightly. "Yes."

(OOC: The supplies are for the Dragon coming to our country; we don't have any IC knowledge of what you eat/anything.)

BACK STORY 3

The States of Rocky Atlantica did not use much money. They used it with others (the coins were solid gold, silver, and bronze), but it was less useful in their lands.

For example, in Mounlantia citizens pay their taxes with a certain amount of "public work days", where the citizen helps to build roads, buildings, and (in times of defensive war) the military. They had quite alot of respect for one another, and trust (even with their enemies). Trading was a big thing, and borrowing as well.

The Dragon going on the diplomatic trip handed an Artures some Imperial Currency.. walked over to the young cow he just bought.. wrapped his quidpartite jaw around the throat of the cow. A wrenching rending sound was heard as its head came off the body. The Dragon then seared the stump shut with a blast from one of his rocket of his rocket suit. He picked up the cow over his shoulder and plodded back to the Nothing. "Can you transport this?" Styrm gestured at the ship.

OOC: :P /OOC

The Pilot and translator look strangely at the Dusk's, but continued:

"Good. This way to house. [the translator points at the city] Any other food? What can you trade? We have this [translator points a piece of aluminum taken from the pilot's spare parts bag] and cattle."

The Artures Pilot eyebrows the dragon, but does not feel disgusted at all. Artures were used to seeing "insides". The translator, on the other hand (and being Volanusian) just stared at the dragon decapitating the cow.

The Samurai thought to himself for a second before gesturing to another cattle. He handed what appeared to be a bar of solid silver to the Artures and walked over to a cow. When he was within five feet, he stopped and time slowed down. In a split-second, the twin Katanas strapped to his sides flashed out of their scabbards and cut it into six transportable pieces. He let out a high-pitched whistle and several Dusks came from the ship to load the dripping bits aboard.

"Transport Is No Problem."

Styrm resonded, "I'll follow the part of your crew that is heading back to your homeland back then." He walked to a refueling center the Storm Dragons had set up and topped off his fuel in his jets.

ooc: Shadow.. no time manipulation :-P Except for dramatic emphasis..

Meanwhile, in Merrit...

"RETREAT!" Yelled one BBC soilder, running behind one of the last structures in Merrit. The swarms of Kamloopsians had overwhelmed the small amount of barricades, and the enemy aritillery was firing all around them.

Another wave of artillery came screaming in, blasting apart a Steam Flyer on the way. The chuncks of metal rained on the soilders, killing several. The soilder looked up from cover, just in time to see several Steam Cannons explode from enemy Blast infantry. The man* looked and then blasted a Artures charging. limbs flew apart as the rain of artillery shells screamed in. In the last moments of his life, he saw the remaining Steam Cannons and infantry running, the buildings being broken down further, a Steam Flyer exploding.

Once again, Merrit switch hands. And from that day forward, Mounlantia treated the Kamloopsians Generals as cowards and unrespectful.

Giacomo was luckly in Lacantis by this time, unknowing that the way home was blocked.

OOC: When I say man, I mean Artures.

The translator was again disgusted, and then the Pilot was as well. The pilot even distrusted the Dusk, as it reminded the pilot of humans too much.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The Following Day, after the return of the Army

With the destruction of 36 ST's, two SF's, and some 300 soilders, Mounlantica decided that all of its forces would be needed to take Merrit, and then continue the push to the Gates of Kamloops. They had nothing to fear from Victoria, but the Civilian Defense Force (CDF) was put into action for defending the city in case of suprise attack. All military units were called to the front.

EDIT: Sirens started blaring in Mounlantia.

Talos and his remaining comrade looked around, wondering what the hell was going on with the Sirens. They looked to the Translator, "What's happening?"

The Dragons then heard massive explosions across the valley and rapidly deduced they may be caught in the middle of a war.

The translator looked nervous. The sirens last went off some 120 years ago, from the Human incursions. They were tested every 3 years, but not all at once.

"Well, we are at war with Kamloops; have been for about one month and a half. We recently re-took Merrit, and my best guess is that they cowardly took it back during the night." They see the pilot running for the Steam Flyer, and in moments the crew took off. "We need to finish this! Our nation is getting ready for full-scale war! We only deployed some 3,000 BBC's, but now all 40,000 are heading out, including steam tanks and steam flyers! And they need everyone they can get to fortify the city, work the factories, and be ready for attack and to supply our soilders."

"We'll do what we can to help." The Dragons took off in their jet suits and then began to hover at stall speed a few hundred feet above the city. They looked out and saw the incoming steam equipment. The heat signatures on them were enormous. They flattened their wings so that the pylons on the flight suits.. each of them targeting a tank. "Run AGM'S hot."

"AGM's hot sir."

"Target lead vehicles in the approaching colums to slow them down."

"Copy.. I got the one on the left.'

"Launch first volley."

"Volley 1 away!" They were pushed back in the air by the thrust of the missiles dropping off the pylons.. a few seconds later.. CRACK--THOOOOOoooooommm! The two lead tanks in the approaching kamloops column stopped int heir tracks with giant holes where engines once were.

The Kamloopsians were awed then dismayed by these fast flying things attacking them. Some fired their gernade launchers at the strange craft, yet soon realized they thery were quite high. Even the artillery could not hit the fast things. Several messengers were sent to Kamloops, descriptions of the strange things each.

OOC: They will have gattling-guns soon, as a minor warning.
