A South American Junta

In the southern most regions of South America a change was coming as a newly risen military junta flexed its military might and expanded its control. With legions of poorly trained and equipped militia as their standing forces they simply overwhelmed their enemies with numbers, countless human lives were lost in human wave attacks against hostile fortifications and defenses. Every battle would leave the battlefield strewn with corpses and yet from this a more solid core of trained and capable survivors would form as the select few began to survive and learn. An introduction of basic combat vehicles and lightly armoured tanks would help to reduce the losses even further and further.

With hearts singing and gun blaring the Junta would take control of the land of Peru to make it their fortified homeland from where they would be able to commence further attacks and conquests. The industry of the land was focused solely on preparing and supplying a mighty war machine as factories would be refitted to produce weapons ,supplies and equipment. Military camps and bases would be raised to help base the growing Junta's military numbers and to provide areas for the training of fresh recruits. Air strips would be set up to house the growing Junta air force and many of these strips would be upgraded into full sized air fields and air bases as their assigned squadron numbers continued to grow. Port facilities would be hastily modified to take the small sized Junta naval ships and shipyards confiscated from their owners to be used to construct larger naval vessels.

Martial law would be implemented across the whole of Peru as well as food rationing so that most of the grown foods could go to the military stockpiles. Violators of the law would be arrested and put before a judgement committee, those that carried out only minor crimes would face varying lengths of manual labor before being released while on the other side of the spectrum the harshest rule breakers would be put to death by firing squad.

For now the focus of the military junta would be on fortifying the country of Peru against military attack from the outside and for expanding the ease of moving troops and supplies for offensive operations outside of the nation. A small amount of effort was put in constructing basic embassy buildings in the capital on the slight chance that any nations from across the globe wished to communicate with the government.
