Today is the grand opening for the new number one news channel through out the Grand Republic, here at the Grand Republic News we have made it our mission to keep all our listeners and watchers up to date on the most pressing stories both locally and internationally. Local News. Construction of Merchant Fleet begins. A nation's wealth is a nation's lifeblood and to increase one's wealth requires the means to do so. Thus construction work has begun at the many shipyard's that line our nation's coast. It seems the Chancellor has called for the creation of a vast merchant fleet to sail the seas to bring our nation's goods to foreign lands and in turn to bring their back to home. Grand Republic to join United Nations. The Grand Republic has only just recently put forth a request to join the newly formed United Nations organisation. Though many other nations have mentioned their grievances and complaints against such an organisation and its founders the Chancellor believes that it would be greatly beneficial for the Grand Republic to a member. International News. Bolivia struck by Tianxia attack. The nation of Bolivia came under attack by Tianxian forces today in retaliation for their attempt to build and maintain a nuclear arsenal to which Tianxia and other nations have vowed to halt. As our listeners would well know the Grand Republic itself has given up on any and all attempts to create such destructive weapons. This has in turn brought us a great benefit as Athens stepped forward to remove all our nuclear weaponry materials as well as providing the reactors that now supply our nation with all it's power needs. Kevin Kingswell Posted November 3, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 3, 2013 Local News Grand Republic News was given an the exclusive rights to have the very first viewing of the new AH-64 Apache attack helicopters. These advanced new aircraft have been brought in to replace the now past their prime UH-1 Iroquois military helicopters. With much improved weaponry and capabilities the AH-64 will go on to provide the Grand Republic Army with that extra force it needs. Plans are currently underway, as we have been told, for conducting regular exercises across the nation for the pilots of these aircraft so that they can be prepared to use them in actual military conflict. Launch facilities had already been built by the previous government however, no rockets had been launched since the transition to the new form of government and today we found out why. When the very first Grand Republic rocket lifted off this afternoon it carried with it a special cargo. Attached to the rocket was the newly created core module for what will become the Grand Republic's very first space station. This module will be positioned in low earth orbit where it will continue to maintain orbit as the other modules are built and prepared for travel up to the core module. Whilst out right violence has never been a barrier to the success of the nation's industry low level sabotage from fringe criminal elements has caused delays and the Chancellor has finally given the industry companies what they had been seeking in terms of security. The Grand Republic Army has called for the creation for ten high speed, mobile missile gunboats to protect local maritime interests. So far Interior Union has put forward the lowest cost offer but Omar Science has stated that they could complete construction in a much shorter time scale though it will cost more than Interior Union is offering. No flights will be allowed over the Grand Republic, no land transportation will be allowed in and no vessels may approach within twenty nautical miles of the Grand Republic. Any attempt to cross any of the Grand Republic's borders will first be given a single warning before being removed by force if required. The only exception granted is to the Athenian Federation.
