hartfw
While I understand the focus on a single war, I would suggest that a nice improvement would be to include a total round damage category. Hypothetically speaking, a nation could have 5 of the top 10 damaging wars and be edged out for the flag by a nation with only 1 war. More to the point, basing the top reward off a single round of war rewards end of round performance and thus encourages taking (and thus often giving) as little damage as possible prior to the round end. Instead, total round destruction would temper this, providing incentives for waring harder earlier, and more often. Even if not basing a flag off this, it would be really nice to have summary stats for nations war damage throughout the round matching teh single war screens: Round wide: Soldiers Lost / Killed: Tanks Lost / Killed: Cruise Missiles Lost / Killed (okay lol this one doesn't matter) Aircraft Lost / Killed Navy Lost / Killed Infrastructure Lost / Destroyed Technology Lost / Destroyed Land Lost / Destroyed Land/Tech/Infra Lost / / Destroyed Destruction Rank: Of the XXXX nations, this nation ranked XX in damage tanked / YY in destruction. bombuator
This also could help people that have been on the Top 5 Smallest Nation Gains, I've been #1 and #3, and no wars in the Top 40 Most Damaging Wars now.
Instr
Yup, aiming at performance over time is better than instantaneous performance. Instantaneous performance lends itself too easily to gaming; going for most destructive war means you get a huge warchest like you're a flag runner, get a WRC, then find someone else with WRC and a huge warchest. Just flag-running by another name.
