They began to become famous. They're opinions heavily represented the people of Illinois. They became a political sensation. They were looked up upon as a "voice". This group of people went all over the region to spread their wisdom. They presented a heavy platform of independence. Their culture and reflections spread like wildfire. They began becoming daily topics for the news paper and began to become a resource of light for the people of Illinois. They met one night in The Holiday Inn, in Chicago for a meeting. They begin to deliberate. After heavy deliberation, their opinions were made. They were going for independence and sovereignty. The leader, Martha Carter appeared in front of several cameras to make a press conference. "On this day of June the Ninth in the year of 2012, The Republic of Chicago hereby declares our separation from both The American Commonwealth and West Virginia. We have had enough of the fight over our territory, so we have decided to come out as an individual state. This is a time for our people, our culture, and our voice to be heard around the world. The Republic of Chicago's boarders contain the whole region known as 'Illinois'. We are a people of our culture. We ask you to recognize us on this day to move forward as a people, a voice, and a nation." Commonwealth troops serving as peacekeepers in Republic of Chicago territory will be withdrawn to the Commonwealth protectorates in Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio.
