1. Implicit (I think) in what Nick GhostWolf said, you should wait until you have enough money on hand to do all of this without disrupting your purchase of wonders every thirty days. Also, I think it's best to purchase the Federal Reserve as early as you can, as the second or third wonder. It's expensive but very much worth it, and since its cost is based partly upon nation strength, buying it before undertaking your mega tech buy will save you a significant amount of money.
2. And... the sixth time, it worked! Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result may be a good operative definition of insanity, but it still works sometimes. :P I noticed this, though: before I corrected my link, it had the lon and lat reversed! http://www.cybernations.net/national_wonders_map.asp?Nation_ID=151267&Location=Moon&Type=Base&lat=-42.41833895118996&lon=128.5234375&VALUE=617009E6E2 EDIT: By "corrected my link," I mean that I corrected the numbers but left the lon and lat as they were. OT, but... thanks, Chinan, for doing this. :)
3. The former, three times. Now, four. :(
4. You have received an error trying to view a page. Here is the detailed error code: You selected an invalid map position.
5. Well, we wouldn't have it any other way, so by definition it's working out OK. Actually, we're thinking in terms of remaining neutral forever. What it lacks in novelty it more than makes up for in faithfulness to everything we stand for. :ehm:
6. Thanks for the well wishes!
I forget who was in there last year, but I'm glad to see all these friends recognized. I look forward to next year's inductees!
Linked in the OP, but...
7. Yes, we're still here, still neutral as neutral can be, still having a good time, with the usual challenges interspersed with reasonably frequent bouts of awesomeness. On our fifth anniversary we established the GPA Hall of Fame. Today we announce the addition of six new members: Antonio Salovega VI - AS6 enriched the GPA with his wisdom, FA expertise and great graphic skills. He was a very nice and correct man which always placed the alliance above himself. Helga von Lichtenstein - Few people embody the GPA ideals of diplomacy and friendly demeanour as well as Helga von Lichtenstein. During her membership, she left a lasting effect to the community by acting as a mediator when the extremes conflicted, and continued to do this in GPA-related affairs after her departure from the alliance. The post-war GPA had a lot to thank her for improving our image at large. She tended to work really hard, too. Mary the Fantabulous - Mary left the GPA after about a year to head to NPO. She was the leader behind ECHO and several other efforts, especially focused on green team unity. She worked closely with United Blobs and Phil Gaea to shape the GPA as it is today. Her leadership in the GPA went unquestioned, but she struggled quite a bit with the disjoint she saw within the forming green community. Very highly regarded by those who were in the GPA in its early days. omnilynx - Omnilynx has served GPA in several positions, including a brief but extremely vital term as the President when no-one else bothered, during the outbreak of the War on Peace. After the war, he made a long, succesful term as the CIO of the alliance. Ouchneddnesscooooo - Quite a lot like Helga, really: hard working, versatile, friendly, popular, and always embodying the ideals of the GPA both within the alliance and though his work as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sol Invictus - Sol Invictus' persistence in the positions of CIO is beyond equal. His strong presence on the technical aspects of the alliance has guaranteed that we can enjoy the infrastructure we have. Beyond that, Sol is perceptive, articulate and occasionally outspoken. All in all, a most excellent person to have on our team. As always, you're cordially invited to #GPA and our forums to help us celebrate six years of GPAwesome.
8.
Ok, just two points left. The first one is probably it: (-60, 89) URL: lon=89&lat=-60 [s](-59, 89) URL: lon=89&lat=-59[/s]
And indeed it is. Thanks, and Happy New Year!
9. 98% at (-60, 92) 99% at (-60, 90)
10.
I'm sad to see the MoMC vacant. Is M_a_C_a still working there at least?
That's what I get for not staying up 'til 1am to make appointments at the crack of update. :/ Indeed not only will Thierra serve as MoMC this term, I'll let it slip that MoMC is in particularly excellent shape at this point. I'm sure you'd be pleased. And, Nitiot will be serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs this term.
11. Join the GPA, get a free cellphone!
12. Cameroon is the only nation in the world that's named after a crustacean.
Portuguese sailors reached the coast in 1472. They noted an abundance of the mud lobster Lepidophthalmus turneranus in the Wouri River and named it Rio dos Camarões, Portuguese for "River of Shrimp", and the phrase from which Cameroon is derived.
13. I, too, support making alliances an ingame feature. I don't see that the transition would be difficult-- just assign ownership to the three highest seniority members of each alliance and make then transferable by an offer/accept system like trades or aid, though only if both are alliance members. If an owner deletes or changes AA, his/her ownership automatically defaults to the highest seniority non-owner in the alliance. Then let alliances talk the initial owners into transferring ownership in accordance with alliance law or custom. No reason for admin to get involved in alliance affairs. Maybe in case of megadrama, make it so that two owners could strip the third of ownership? Full disclosure: I'm not playing TE this round-- update attacks are too much for me. But I playing another game with a system like that.
14.
Just out of curiosity, do you guys allow your nations to tech raid at all?
No, we don't.
15. OMG... I have a trainee who, so far, refuses to set his tax rate above 15%. Of course I'm trying to talk some sense into him, but if I'm unsuccessful... Fortunately, he has marble/cattle, so he could have either a classic 3BR or a nice, population-heavy 5BR with fish, sugar or pigs, and his own cattle. Which would be better? Yes, I could figure it out myself, but discussing it might be fun.
16. Great Dzar! As I recall, you rocked out pretty hard back in the day!
