  1. Exactly, the +200%/-50% range needs to be reduced or simply done away with now. The new change to NS has made it so that nations which are not in the top tier have such a wide band of potential enemies that nations on their upper NS bounds can anarchy them in a single attack, regardless of having max military or not!! What is the point of the bounds, if my outer bounds nation can anarchy me in a single ground attack, how is that (barring Nukes themselves) any different from me fighting a top 20 nation? Both will be destroying my infra and tech at the max rate, both will anarchy me in a single attack. Seriously what purpose does +200%/-50% serve anymore?
  2. Not true, at least not in all realms. I personally dropped not that much, however the number of nations above me who are in my strength range to attack me increased by over 35%!!!! Now their actual military strength did not decrease, just this phantom NS. To give an example: a 1000 NS nation that has little to no tech on Oct 31 could fight between 500 NS and 2000 NS. On Nov 1 it can now be attacked by nations that were at 3000 NS the day before. Where as on Oct 31 a 1000 NS nation was roughly half a match for a 2000 NS nation, on Nov1 now a 2000 NS is worth nearly 4 times a 1000 NS nation. Balance at the lower levels has gone out the window.
  3. lol, true, need better terms to describe the update at 12:00 server time and the updates of the admin update log.
  4. Yes this si the exact problem that I noted somewhere back on page 6. This change for better or worse should have had something else to prevent the now very narrow band of nations. Just to see if I could, I found that there are at least 5 nations in one alliance which I could take on simultaneously now, that this morning would have been below my strength range even if I had dismissed my entire military!!!! That is insane. It also means that somewhere above me is a nation that can attack me, which I could not beat with 5 of my nations. At this rate why didn't they just remove the -50% +200% restrictions entirely. Sure the larger nations may not quite have it in the same degree, but those of us who had not reached the 300 tech limit are seeing that we are in range of people who are quadruple our 1/4 our size. Let it be written, let it be so......
  5. The spears and slingshots arguments do not really hold water here. This is supposed to be a nation simulation game. Tech is not your level of technological advancement (which for all intents and purposes is the same world wide) but rather more a measure of your technological edge and availability. A third world country in RL still has access to computers, just far fewer of them per capita. As ever increasing amounts of money are funneled into the technology business the availability of these items increases. This is exactly how infra is displayed in the game. All nations in RL have roads, but truly developed nations have better planned and constructed roads, operating more efficiently and covering a higher percentage of the usable space. As such the view that buying tech from a third world country should be useless to a first world country is not valid. As the most technologically advanced countries outsource their technological manufacturing. To this end I agree that tanks, troops etc should have levels such as planes. However there should be no cap to the levels and the raw tech value should have no effect on performance, only serving as a pre-requisite to purchasing the more advanced level units. Say every 100 levels of tech is another higher level of aircraft. This allows admin to keep caps on the numbers of planes without capping the ultimate effectiveness they can reach. If players concerns are that unlimited tech advancement affecting military would create imbalance this solves it. As the advanced nation can buy the tech cheap, but must still pay ever increasing prices for the actual units themselves.
  6. Well first off I must say that of all the results I am enjoying the most of all Rather than restate stuff that has already been said I want to just tack on a 'me too' to the opinions of which I share. #1) GRL is an interesting game dynamic that may help curb the rather rampant nuking of late. However it would probably also benefit from some form of color sphere or even alliance link as well. #2) GRL does in fact make environment something that one must think about more now (hehe suck it to my friends who laughed at me for keeping lead around in fear that this day was coming) #3) Devalued NS of tech is probably good #4) Devalued NS of tech to 1/4 of where it was, probably bad. #5) Devalued NS of tech without altering the NS of infra or military units, definitely bad. #6) If tech is devalued then it's cost and benefits should be altered equally. #7) Weapons destroy tech is good, might make raiders actually raid, and those who want to avoid raiders be able to deter simply by holding enough weapons that they could destroy more tech than you can steal. The most concerning I feel is #5 and #6 as who can fight whom was somewhat balanced and even before. At least it was compared to this. I checked my nation strength range page and found some nations of whom I was too high to engage previously that now I can. Nations that I could probably take 4 or 5 of without concern. If tech is going to lower NS then it should lower practical benefits as well.
  7. Thank you, sucks this is happening, but it is assuring that it wasn't just me.
  8. I recently tried to log in, and at first was given an error message that I had no account. I double checked to make sure that I had entered the proper screen name etc, which in fact I had. It just did not seem to know that I had been there before. So I tried again, on this second attempt it 'logged' me in, but took me to the main log in screen. No information for my nation was displayed and no links to it existed on the left side. So I tried to use a direct link to my page, and got the old error message of: "Sorry but that nation no longer exists. Please check that the nation ID in your address bar above is correct. If you are certain that the ID is correct please report this error in the forums." I was mildly disturbed by this so I double checked that I had the ID correct, and again it was. I tried to tell a friend what happened, he immediately looked up my nation and said all was fine. Confused I reloaded the screens and there it was again. Any ideas what happened? P.S. No I did not get a message about violations of ToS etc, there was no messages of any kind saying that my nation was deleted, it was simply gone for a few minutes, as if I had an account but no nation.
  9. aww I didn't mean to make you feel bad I'm sorry want me to put it back?
  10. np, knowing it was a game joke, and not a hacker, makes it hilarious and not annoying
  11. I did a careful check, so far I can not find anything else different. I checked line by line but found nothing.
  12. I forgot to add that it was added to the end of my nation bio not in replacement of. No, I dont think i have an offensive nation bio: "Tend to the Tree of Wisdom, partake of it's fruit and find shelter in the shade beneath its boughs." just some random fluff I would call it. Hacker is what I thought of at first, but never seem to know with this game, I mean it would be a really funny thing to add to a nation bio randomly
  13. Hey I recently just had this appear in my nation bio: ***"I love admin and be loves me back*** complete with the spelling mistake. It is also my nations two week happiness bonus. Is this part of that, or some other legitimate part of the game?
