  1. Indeed, the GPA has never threatened anyone.

We have been a little unstable and had a string of people show very bad manners to outsiders right before they leave. Been driving me crazy forever, and I thought just last night maybe all this sabre-rattling would be a good thing because of that. EDIT - meaning because we were finally getting some serious changes through to try and stop that stuff!

But for the NPO to actually flat out attack the GPA... over someone that simply managed to game us long enough for us to register his application for a day before we kicked him out anyhow?

This is war on a whim. Hundreds of peaceful farmer nations that could never possibly have offended anyone are now being put to the torch because, apparently, someone important had a bunchup. Come on.

Tell me one more time, UJP lost, right?

/me pinches herself, shrugs, and wanders off into the night from whence she came.

  2. Hrrm where to begin. Oh yes, it's declaration thanks.

Wow, just wow. Hats off to you Mauirov, you cant spell or even think straight it appears, but that's ok, we love you anyhow.

    :toast:

  3. Partly depends on what you mean by 'tech raiding.'

If you mean launching unprovoked attacks on essentially random nations in the hopes of profit, no, of course there is no justification for that. But it will continue to happen. Greed demands it.

And self-preservation demands that alliances not risk their own to defend the unaligned. So in a sense they may be called 'fair game.' But only in a rather tenuous sense.

If you mean launching assaults aimed at drawing out a conflict rather than throwing the opponent into total chaos immediately, in order to maximise the gains that may be had to offset the cost of dealing with another fool that thought tech-raiding aligned targets was 'fair game' in the same sense, however, that's very justified.

And lots and lots of fun to boot.

    :jihad:

  4. it is now. The Islamic Brotherhood is only 5 nations with 4 of them active. I'd say they are a lil outnumbered, and the reasoning for war...come on definatley is terroristic (if thats a word, which I think it is)

EDIT: it is a word. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/terroristic

There are degrees of 'is of identity: word' if you want to look at it that way.

It's a word, people say it, it's not a word, people that think about what they're saying wont say it.

It's just an extra syllable. The -ic ending (from french -ique latin -icus greek -ikoc) is used to make an adjective - but in this case, there's no need to make an adjective - 'terrorist' already IS an adjective.

At any rate, the sides do appear to be a bit uneven. :(

  5. GPA, while influential, is NOT the most influential alliance in the game. Being neutral forbids that. I would say it is a toss up between Pacifica and Polaris as to who is more influential. If ES was still around my vote would be Polaris. But I would venture to say that 99.9 percent of Planet Bob would agree with me in saying it is a toss up. GPA MIGHT... and I repeat MIGHT crack the top 10 on the list just because of her sheer size. But being 'neutral' (I use that term VERY loosely), and not getting involved in anything I cant justify labeling them as #1 in anything other than NS. The Flying Tigers might have been more influential, in fact, their preemptive strike on the GOONs lead to Something Awful happening to the GOONs in the UJP. I blame the flying tigers for that.

/me coughs. Someone didnt get the memo?

The Gamer42AU quote you based this little rant on actually said that the NPO was "...the most influential." Go read it again.

Btw, hi, long time no see.

  6. If the New Pacific Order ever looks a tad bit jumpy, it’s because they are. In the so-called “Great Patriotic War†the NPO&Co stood against (nearly) the combined might of CyberNations, and for a time were only hanging on by a thread… New Pacific Order has had some of their closest friends become some of their most bitter of foes… if you can’t trust your closest of comrades, why would you trust an alliance you hardly know (like the GPA)?

Saying they hardly know us isnt true. They were one of the first signatories of the DoN, and only very recently was that changed, so we have a much longer history of good relations with them than many of their current and past allies do. We've sat out every major war, we've resisted countless attempts to enlist us to shift the balance of a war and defeat them, and we've always been simply uninterested in compromising our neutrality. We believe they know they can trust us.

Oh yeah, again, royal we in IC forum, not .gov, not speaking for GPA, yadda yadda.

  7. Then we're going to pull the Sun from the sky and eat it, casting a pallid darkness across all existence. Abandon all hope ye who enter here. The Great Old Ones shall burst forth from dread R'lyeh and dim Carcossa, and we shall set upon them as lambs at the slaughter. Then I shall reach my hand through thine computer monitor and pull your greasy black hair so it ruins thine "My Chemical Romance" hairdo.

    YOU STOLE OUR PLANS!!!! :((

    :awesome:

  8. We speak for no one but ourself, our nation, and it's citizens. We are not GPA government.

We advise the original poster, however, that the portions of his post that are true are already well understood in the GPA, that spying is a surefire formula for phail. And that NPO been around a long time and almost always very reasonable :peace:

We apologise to anyone who feels this poster trolled them, even though we had nothing to do with the post and cannot be in any way responsible for it, we are embarrased that someone chose to express support for us in such a crude manner.

We ask that if it's possible this thread be locked as clearly nothing but trolling and counter-trolling is likely to result from it.

    edit: grr nm

  9. This statement is not endorsed by anyone other than myself. Feel free to request your name to be added if you want though.

Likewise, we speak for no one but ourself.

OOC: Note that we do speak IC and use the royal plural.

I miss Kristin and El Bruc. This new GPA interests me not.

See, this is the irony of the situation. Kristin, in particular, was the worst President since we joined, almost certainly the worst ever. Yes, you all loved her. Because she was the little social gadfly hanging out and making friends. But then some of our friends turned on other friends, and SHE had gotten too close to one side. That's the one thing a NEUTRAL leader has to avoid doing. That's total phail.

Yet she's still popular, at least with certain people. Valid's worst sin seems to have been being a bit brusque in enforcing a rule on our board. Really, have things changed so much while we were in the hospital and inactive that all our old friends cannot forgive such a minor thing?

We feel quite certain that much of the ire directed at Valid is not truly aimed at him so much as the office (and the stench left behind by former occupants,) and that is one reason we do continue to support him. If we must die for KMs sins, then fine, we'll die standing beside Valid, thanks.

But we should certainly rather it not come to that, of course.

We ask that perhaps those who have been offended by Valid give him just a little benefit of the doubt, and consider whether they are really angry at him, or simply angry at the GPA for things past members have done.

    Sincerely,

Sigrun Odinsdottir, Vapneir, Queen of the Æsir.
