1. "It is good to see our British Counterparts are capable of reading, and are very good at pulling up clippings from the Northlands Archive News Network. I am very proud of them to find such an old document, and seem to be under the impression that as time passes, things change, areas change, people move in, and people move out. Sverige citizens heavily populated the area as part of the open border policy with the Northlands seeking employment, as many Germans crossed the border into Sverige. I would assume besides the ones that have stayed, if they did not end up in the Kingdom of Sverige, then I must assume they went to other areas. So sir, I must say your attempt to cause us mass murders is rather a farce and shows your character as another militant nation, perhaps you should be more concerned with your own allies butchering Germans, and be less concerned as what Sverige does with its own territory. Or does the British Isles turn a blind eye to blatant murder?"

Then it is unfortunate that it is not you territory nor is there any historical basis to prove major demographic shifts.  Our position remains that this needs to be settled with the Germans, we simply will not stand for Sverige unilaterally annexing land without mutual consent.

"If the inhabitants in the region once known as Schleswig-Holstein wish to remain under the protection of the Kingdom of Sverige, so be it. Historical irrendentism and cultural assimilation should not be used as a vehicle to override or otherwise dictate the voice of the People."

    - Lev Gromyko, Foreign Commissar

Did we miss the election where they voted for this?

  2. Yes well the problem with that argument is you have a rather massive problem with Northlands contradicting you.  Northlands documents refer to the provinces as German, going so far as defining there to be a Department of German Integration.  The only records of resettlement we've found in the Northlands archives, are resettlement within 2 kilometers of the canal zone not the whole province, and the populations of urban areas were exempted.  To claim there are no Germans there seems to contradict what Northlands itself is saying.  Some areas of the canal maybe, but the whole area, I do not think so... unless you did something with them.

  3. Absorbing a fallen or declining Empire is a pretty classic historical storyline.  That said, if you want to cooperate again you have to make an IC request.  Who controls a region is something that needs to be settled in character you shouldn't be demanding stuff OOC, I'd actually be breaking the rules giving this to you purely OOC.

  4. The Low Countries:

The corps of engineers would work to get ports functioning as well as land routes between the low countries and Germany.  The Borders of the country were now secure.  Plans wee put in place to facilitate intelligence gathering and long term national defensive missions.

    OOC: 3/7

    Bermuda:

The British Government had allotted funds for the construction of facilities to house British Civil Service workers and a small military contingent.  The British Government began operating its listening posts on the island shortly after.  Four P-8s would move to the Island.

  5. Dear, please help us all. This RP is going rather south. I would like to say that I remain my respect to the CN RP community, but it would be a pure lie. You and this RP have begun to lose some members that are great RPers because of this conflict. If you could, please just get on with it before I decide to take the same action.

Contrary to popular belief this isn't Maelstrom RP.

  6. I don't think getting rid of strategy, operations, and tactics is the answer to anything.  At the same time, this problem actually effects the little guys more than me or Cent or someone.  I can beat missile spam, cause I know how.  Others may be less gifted at that, but if you cap how much arbitrary missile spam you can put on targets, you reduce it as a decisive element.

  7. Marbury extended his hand the the President, walking a little distance across the room before meeting him smiling, "Mr. President!" he said, "So good of you to meet with me.  It is a real pleasure." receiving the cigars he smiled widely before retrieving a bottle of Lagavulin single malt.  As they shook hands for the cameras of the press, Marbury whispered the suggestion in President Marco's ear, "Once these bloody vulture journalists leave how about we light these up and have a drink of this?" he said with a laugh.

As they entered the private meeting hall, Marbury took his seat with his delegation behind him as he leaned back in his chair, "Mr. President, I'd like to on behalf of his Majesty and his government thank you for meeting me here.  We have many things to discuss!"

"To start let me say, that His Majesty's Government would strongly like to see the revitalization rather than bifarcation of the North Atlantic community.  Britain has traded with the America's for centuries, many people come from Britain who colonized the new world, and many of our allies, including our saviors during the second world war were of the New World.  Its my desire that we can not only normalize relations with the Americas but rebuild what were special relationships of kindom between our Island and fellow Atlanticists in the new world.  That is why I am here today, to hopefully build such partnerships with nations such as yourself."

  8. Iceland + Jan Mayen

In Iceland the British Government began construction of several key port facilities for the stationing of royal navy and coast guard units.  New Radar Stations were built, and the SOSUS was brought back online for operational status.  Meetings were arranged with regional governments.

    Low Countries

In the Low Countries the arrival of the British was taken with a grain of salt, though certainly better than the alternative.  The British Forces were quick to reinforce against the French Border, though cordial relations with the Germans did not necessitate the same.  Many of the British GIs were quick t enjoy the new breweries under their control as a good time was to be had!

    2/7

    Bermuda

The British Colonial Authority was a welcome return to tradition by many on the Island, which had kept its quaint imperial traditions even with the lss of the second Empire.  Now the British Government was readying to welcome it back int the fold.

    2/7

    Falkland Island

A British listening station had been constructed on the island.  Additionally a new air strip was being finalized for construction for hosting an RAF monitoring contingent.

    2/7

    St. Helena

Regaining St. Helena was quite a boon for the British.  A return to Jamestown was seen as a triumph of the British Spirit, as the small Royal Marine contingent was celebrated in the streets of an Island that had been British for all but a few decades in four centuries.

    1/7

    Malta

The storied return to Malta was another great triumph.  Cypriot and Britons alike marveled at the return to this stories Island.  A new nation was certainly being born.

    1/7

    Balaeric Islands

The British were quick to take position in Balaeric, inviting contingents from Carthage as well.  Heavy investments were placed in Radar systems and infastructure for the manuevering of missile forces while a decision was made to leave the island mostly autonomous to itself.

    1/7

    Azores + Madeira

British presence on these islands was also kept to a minimum, the idea was toyed around with creating a Hispanic Kingdom of all these maritime territories, but nothing had yet been decided.  Heavy investment in electronic surveillance and monitoring was made to these Islands as well as well as infrastructure to support Navy and A2AD missions.

    1/7

    Ascension

Ascension would be mostly looked after by the Royal Fisheries Bureau, while the Coast Guard and navy played some role.  A navy ship would come to construct a listening post on the Island.

    1/7

    Pacific Territories

In the Pacific, members of the British Ministry of Trade and Industry as well as Fisheries would come.  A large measure was to work with locals on mapping EEZs, establishing autonomous governing structures, and helping expand British trade in Pacific Fisheries.  Additionally listening posts would be constructed on the Islands, along with a SAT Track facility.

  9. Per Project Tricent, and with the World's largest economy and financial system, Britain formally offers to use its capital to buy up Carthaginian Debt in arms manufacturers and collaborate on achieving economies of scales in armaments industries and helping Carthage to spend with no consequence, in exchange for access to natural resources for our own massive arms build up.

  10. Its been that way a while and transferred over here, the only exception being the relatively new intercepor system.  I disagree though with the idea about spending hours researching missiles, aside from novel ones like the DF-21-D which is doing something truly unique, or trying to find a special cruise missile to hit sea based targets at super long range, most follow some fairly basic principles which once you know them you get some idea on how to use them.  Granted I'm a missile nerd, but there's nothing novel about missiles compared to any other form of projectile, there are time when it it is appropriate there are times when its not.  The one thing is they do take a long time to make and cost a lot, especially in maintaining vast vast stockpiles and qualified staff to use them, but that is only more argument for not having 50000 vs 5000.  I'd also point out if you're concerned about small nations, most of which don't spend a lot of time reading about missiles like some of us, and most of which are newer, they'd be better off having  face fewer missiles and instead face more familiar technologies like tanks.

  11. After a series of meetings at the Kazakh border, a letter finally came down from Astana.

"We should talk, our state is interested discussing relations and other things" - Joseph Gurlan, Head of state of the Kazakh Federation.

Li would send back a positive response requesting an audience with Joseph Gurlan in the City of Urumqi, in Xinjiang, well away from the front lines of the raging Tianxia Civil War.

  12. To the Kingdom of Sverige:

Please be advised in regards to all German Territory, our pressing concern is the integrity of the German state with our allies and friends within Germany, the political status of German territory especially in regards to formal annexation should be discussed with Prussia, Hesse, and Hannover.  Britain will not support the dismantling of the German State by a foreign army.  We do not have plans to annex the disputed region in question ourself.

    To Carthage:

Britain would request the ability to leave a base on the Rock, while transfering sovereignty to Carthage.

Globally all, now even the farthest reaches of Northlands, via operations through Falklands, would fall under British Dominion and protectorship.

  13. To Khans of the Steppe:

We the British People send greetings and a tribute of some of our finest jewelry, art, and other gifts to pay homage to your glory, and show our respect for the lands you rule on the Steppe and Beyond.  We wish to recognize your dominance of the North of Asia, and extend a hand of friendship.

The people of Britain wish to seek a trade and develop a strong friendship, so that the Sons of the Waves and the Steppe may work together in harmony.

We would like to offer to focus on a major aspect of trade particularly British high technologies and services for Mongolian wealth.  Mongolia controls much of the World's rare earth, we wish to harness this and would ask to work with you to become your principal supplier in Europe.

We hope for a favorable response,

    John Marbury

  14. Top Secret Encrypted:

To the Governments of the Carthage, Parthia, and Romania,

His Majesty's Government recognizing the increasing threat posed by global instability as well as the actions of hostile actors world wide would like to formally propose a truly global treaty, which can be expanded to include new members as relations develop.  This treaty is not a military alliance to win wars, but an intelligence alliance to prevent one.  Namely our goal will be to develop the infrastructure to gather sufficient forms of intelligence to prevent threats from ever arising.   His Majesty's Government selects you three powers as entry members for such an endeavor because of current relationships we share.

We hope for a favorable response.

    Most Sensitively Yours,

    Churchill

  15. Coded messages were sent to the USNA and UCS requesting permission to send British Envoys too them to discuss matters of pressing national security.  Formal visa requests were made for Lord Marbury to visit the capital of the UCS while Mr. Churchill would like very much to visit DC.

  16. British Armament Production was ordered for PGMs (to include launchers, ballistic missiles, precision guided shorter range weapons, PGM gravity bombs, cruise missiles), ASMs, Patrol Planes, strike drones, IADS, missile interceptors were to increase several fold, while the SBIRS, Public Health/Infectious Disease, JLENs, ISR budgets were also raised.

Construction of security facilities in Britain's newly acquired territories were also increased along with plans for annexations.  Significant global investments with the fall of Northlands were directed towards national technical means.  A formal request was also sent to Persia to cooperate using means which they may have acquired legacy wise, with regards to certain other countries.

Key plans would include a permanent and moving rotation of MGM-140s, Tomahawks Block IVs mobile launchers, Brahmos, DF-16s, Iskanders, disguised Klub-Ks, Yun-Fengs, and many more moving throughout the British Isles, in a combined operation designed to hold targets at risk who may threaten the national security of the British State.  Various appropriate systems would be deployed to the British overseas territories.

  17. Only on ships are they VLS tubes.  That's a force composition decision right?  That's the same argument as how you outfit missiles on a plane.  But neither planes or ships would be effected by this.  What we're talking about is ground launchers which people just make up a number.  We're talking about ground based launchers, and whether someone should be able to say, 'I have 10000, vs. I have 500.'  This is not a problem on ships because we know 1 ship has x number of slots, which can be outfitted a certain number of ways.

  18. I'm not super tied to one multiplier or another, but I do think being intelligent about this makes sense.

The only problem I see with missiles spam is that most weapon systems that fire such missiles are the same ones used for defense so there is nothing to really stop one side launching a missile spam, the other side launching counter missiles and then the two sides swapping. That and the fact that the numbers used seem to be above what current fire control systems can handle.

Also what do you mean here.  There are some paranoid russians that think our plans for anti-ballistic missile interceptors in Europe are a trojan horse for super duper secret IRBMs to assassinate Putin at the beginning of a first strike, but that's not backed up by any actual evidence other than Russian conspiracies after too many bottles of methonal tainted cheap vodka (also known as regular vodka in Russia).

  19. In b4 Longbow Spam.

Cruise missiles and bullets are very different beasts, having more in common with drones and fighter jets (in fact it is a kamikaze drone) than bullets, that points asinine Markus.
