1. History of the Oirad Clan, The Battle of Ningxia

Day 1:

An Entry in the Chronicles of the Oirat Clan

Behold, I am Pran Nor, Chronicler f the Oirad Clan, here to bear witness to our glorious battle against the Usurper for the City of Yinchuan.  As we speak, twelve thousand rider stand poised, to infiltrate the usurpers lines.  The Generals from Nanjing say they have a new weapon, they call this cannon the Blitzer a 'rail gun' a cannon which they say will stop our enemies dead in their tracks and send them running!!!

BUT, they still need our clans to charge their lines and raid them.  They rely too much on their technology I think!!! HMMM?!  Today, the lands f Ningxia will run red, with the blood of the enemies of Clan Oirat!!!!!

==================================

The 11th Route Army was finally on the attack, regaining ground from the Li.  Under the leadership of the Imperial Knights and Rangers, uniting the clans of Inner Mongolia in uprising, combined with a frontal assault, the Li's forces had suffered major losses.  Being routed quickly, retreating back to their rear lines.

For once they seemed to have the Li forces flat footed, and the Imperial Knights were not about to let the opportunity go to waste.  In the West striking across the Gansu Border, the Imperial Rangers, the Emperor's Finest, and the Oirat Clan lead by Imperial Knights Yoshi Hamori and Nyugen Phen had launched a major raiding operation, given cover by the Imperial Air Force and eighteen new Blitzer batteries to punch through line units.  Once through breaking off into autonomous groups these units were conducting a massive rear area raiding campaign forcing the reserves to Ningixia's west away from the province.

At the same time the 3rd Cavalry Division and the 109th Armor Regiment advanced on the outskirts of the province to sweep around and cut it off while, the 8th Mechanized Infantry assaulted the center of the Ningxia frontline.  Special operators and close air support would create space for lightning thrusts by combined armor APC spearheads which made for enemy Headquarters units, as artillery and infantry units were used to hold the line.

The offensive had begun.....

=================================

The news of the Yuan Offensive soon would spread to the State of Qin.  Falling on the South Flank, the Qin was a vital route that could be used by either side.  The Li were in grave danger now, the rumor was much of their armies still bruised from the fight in Inner Mongolia were now in dire threat of being caught with their pants down, with only two divisions anywhere nearby in shape to fight.

Soon the Li threat would pass... yet, there were some who still saw the opportunity in the Li.

In the court of Qin Fuyi, Ambassador Sima Kan approached, walking slowly, kowtowing to the King.

"What brings the Li ambassador before me today?" the King of Qin's voice boomed.

"I come before you with a proposition your majesty...." the Li ambassador said.

2. 1) So she won't be able to get her land back, since Nutmeg made it pretty clear he won't be returning the land to her.

2) You made it pretty clear you stand for a balance of power that favors yourself and your allies, not an actual balance of power, otherwise you would not be supportive of a military action to actually return Europe to a balanced state, Romania has now invaded multiple nations without consequence. France doesn't like you telling them who they can allow into their territory when you're telling them who gets to control THEIR territory and former citizens, I can't really blame them.

3) If you ICly stand for sovereignty, then you would not be ICly supporting someone else breaking that sovereignty, as such it is hypocrisy, I do not see what my OOC anything has to do with you being ICly hypocritical and making an OOC argument regarding it.

There's no point arguing such ludicrous points.

3. 1)  You mean she won't be able to threaten nutmeg militarily.... gosh that's so awful.

2)  I made it clear I stand for sovereignty and a balance of power in Europe.  Which means no state gets to do whatever it wants to other states without consequence.  France currently seems to not like that, because French policies don't respect sovereignty.

3)  Read the rules, different states are different, OOC I don't believe any of us are sovereign no.  Because only states are sovereign, we are subjects of States, in your case a citizen of Conneticut and the United States.  You and I are subject to laws.  Our fictional states are different, and have different policies depending on which ones we play.  This is what it is called in character.

4. Some facts.

1)  FHIC was not present, she can only retake territory by IC action.  The fact that Snowhaven went inactive during FHICs absence was not something anyone but whatever his/her name who played Snowhaven caused.  Once that happened any player could've claimed that land.  It did not automatically revert to FHIC, FHIC had to role play that.  The only action I did was ask that she rule out military force in discussing the issue with Nutmeg.  Frankly, this is something other players have been perfectly fine RPing out.

2)  After people go to war with me I tend to have less sympathy for them.

3)  I am pretty sure I was not Britain even when that Markus-Prussia conflict occurred I believe and if I was I certainly wasn't paying as much attention.  So I fail to see your point.

5. Your idea of friendly IC is pretty much saying "Don't get in my way and submit to our hegemony of your surrounding area." you must make plenty of friends with that attitude, considering its one of the things I get whined at about.

The exercise was happening either way, even if you had not decided to attack Rudy, making sure all of my mutual allies get along and can work together is a reasonable thing to do, and bringing France into the mix to get along with those they had historical issues with(Tikal), ensures I wont be forced to choose sides between my allies. The conference happened once you did make preparations to invade Yugoslavia, since Yeru wanted to make sure there'd be some more defense besides simply GLR and Alvonia.

Triyun's effort was to say "You are not allowed to restore your nation to its original borders, even though had not been in basic there would not have been a dispute over the land since you were the only person with an IC historical basis over it, and then make sure your allies stay our of Europe, even though my allies completely surround you." You are saying that France should accept the British/Carthage/Romanian hegemony, but any moves France makes are evil? I think you're blending IC and OOC opinions here. FHIC's response was due to the blatant hypocrisy shown by Britain i'd bet, since it is fairly obvious that France was being told "play by our rules or else." which is not much of a friendly discussion as peace terms under the guise of relations. France ICly has been in the position to roll over Europe and did not do so then, instead working with the entirety of Europe to ensure stability, so there isn't a historical basis to assume that on based a flippant comment.

Your idea of prudence is to bow to the encroachment of Europe by an African power, and be completely boxed in by her neighbors who you even said yourself, wish to contain France. For someone who often goes on rants about revisionism ICly, you are doing quite a bit of it OOCly.

People wanted to contain France because of France's Policy Positions.  Not because of the player.  France had a policy of all French speaking peple should be under French rule, as that was sovereignty of people, rather than sovereignty of nations.  We wanted to ensure France does not switch its borders based on military force.  Once anyone gives up territory they aren't entitled to it back, they have to RP to get it back.  This isn't anything new.

On top of that, Cent is a Mediterranean Nation.  He's part of that Mediterranean civilizational base that included much of the Roman Empire.  I do not honestly see North Africa and Europe as that far apart.  I do see Japan and Europe as far apart, but you seem to be ignoring that and thinking you as Japan need to police this.

On FHICs as Eva said quid pro quo for an alliance, which is what she came to me and asked for.  It wasn't quid pro quo for peace.  FHIC then made a fairly incredible statement saying she didn't respect State  Sovereignty which is against European tradition big time.

6. As some of you may know, Tianxia is currently embroiled in division.  Its current political state is somewhat akin to the Holy Roman Empire.  Yuan Jia, the original Emperor was replaced by his son, Yuan Shizi this summer IRL and due to all the factors going on I'm RPing has been kidnapped and the Empire itself is currently split.

At present the Empire as it holding now as something equivalent to the Holy Roman Empire.  I would like to know if people wish to join in RPing some of these factions.  I'm RPing the Yuan as well as the Unknown Faction.

Tianxia_GOT_Map.png

Currently the dominant factions are:

The Yuan Dynasty Regency, which controls still much of the Coastline, and holds most of the Navy as well as the loyalty of the Amphibious Army Corps, and the Eastern Army Group, as well as most of the Mongol Tribes, owing to its roots there.  Its current vassal states, are nominally the Ryukyu Clans and the Guangdong Merchant State, though these are tacit ties at best in order to let each of them fight other enemies.  Its primary rival is the Li Dynasty, whom is lead by former Field Marshall Li of the Western Army Group, the largest land army formation in the World.  It is also at war with Jiangxi Soviet, Manchuguo Separatists, and Beijing Commune.

The Li Dynasty, the Li Dynasty is was originally a Junta formed after Yuan Shizi went missing, however, Field Marshall Li arranged for his rivals elimination and proclaimed himself Emperor.  In the initial stages of the civil war, Li was by far the most successful leading his forces, taking over vast swathes of the West and the military infrastructure located there.  Li is known to view the dismantling of the broader Empire a error of a boy, and believes that the Tianxian Empire can only be revived with strong military rule.  Li nearly took Beijing until the appearance of the Unknown Enemy in the South, forcing Li to retreat to defend his rear flank.  Since then the Federal Forces of the Yuan have recovered much territory but the war with the Li has settled into a stalemate.  Li maintains neutral relations with the State of Qin and Chun, seeking to bring them into his camp, for launching new offensives.  He also seeks outside support.

Current Mid-Weight Factions are:

Guangdong Autonomous Merchant State, is a misleading name.  The territories of Guangdong are now ruled by a oligarchic-organized crime nexus, an amalgem of elites from the state intelligence services, organized crime families, and business elite.  An ultra-capitalist distopia, the provinces are the richest by far in China, but with massive inequality.  In the early phases of the war as well as the Great Dying plague, many from all around fled to Guangdong seeking refuge, which seemed immune to the plague.  At first businessmen made a killing offering services to save people by getting them into the provinces, only then did they reveal they were indentured servants, forced to work off loans for their entry at incredibly high rates.  Guangdong has remained technically in the Yuan camp, and though it sells weapons and loans to all sides in the war.  But the Yuan cannot afford another war, or a loss of Guangdong Bank financing.  Its only real enemy is the Jiangxi Soviet.

The Jiangxi Soviet, has risen taking Mao's Earliest banner and vowing to restore a new China.  Adherents to Mao Zedong thought, it was started by an escaped peasant army which rose up in the Guangdong Autonomous Merchant State, protesting its conditions.  Entering into some of the poorest provinces in China, it quickly spread like wildfire, gaining new recruits for a new People's Army.  With an absolutist Maoist Ideology it remains in a constant war with its neighbors, advancing where it can, conducting insurgencies where it is pushed back.  It has no allies, for allied states are bourgeois constructs, it only stands with the people!

The Manchuguo are an uprising of Manchus along the Korean border, advocating the restoration of a Manchu State.  Their forces have fought with the Mongol Clans loyal to the Yuan for control of Western Manchuria, while benefiting from the wars in the south to divide their much more numerous enemies.  Their primary enemy is the Yuan.

The State of Qin was a nationalist uprising modeled on Qin Shi Huangs state to restore the Han Chinese dominance in the Empire.  Capturing the vital cities of Chongqing, Wuhan, and advancing along the Yangtze, the State looked to play a major role early on in the conflict.  Unfortunately, Li's Uprising got in the way, capturing Chongqing, and encircling and destroying many of the armies.  Many defected to Li's banners before his stalled advance on Beijing and Nanjing.  The rise of the Unknown enemy saved the State of Qin from absorbtion into Li's Banners, and the renewed Yuan Strength balances Li's domination.  However, Qin's position remains fragile.  Its King Qin Fuyi, is diligently preparing his forces for an opportunity as the Yuan and Li smash each other around him....

The State of Chun formed in the South China Heartland, is one of the last places that still remembers the Imperial Way of Life.  Through deft diplomacy, regional governors were able to band together and form a democracy, which has held the Imperial Reconquest back, and kept Li's armies from invading through careful diplomacy.  All this changed with the appearance of the Unknown Enemy, and its raids.  The Great Forests of the South began to die, and farmers are moved further to the East.  This in turn has provoked unrest, and made it increasingly difficult to govern, with insurgencies popping up favoring the Jiangxi Soviet model.  Increasingly the Harmony of Chun is threatened, with both the Yuan and Li seeking it to join their side for protection.  How long can the State of Chun remain neutral, before it appears too weak and someone comes in to claim it?!

The Beijing Commune formed as the armies of Li advanced on Beijing and the warlord controlling the city fled North.  No longer content to be a prize to be fought over, and with Federal Troops nowhere in sight, the people of Beijing and her sister city Tianjin formed stockades, intent on making plundering the city costly.  For three months they ground Li's armies, slowly being pushed back, till the Unknown Enemy forced Li's attention elsewhere.  The Beijing Commune legend spread as being the first to defeat Li, and the armies ventured forth from the Barricades, to build a anarcho-sydnicalist society.  It was not long before they found themselves in contact with a new Yuan Army, marching North.  Unaccustomed to open field manuver warfare, the Beijing Commune Armies were destroyed, with the Yuan surrounded their territory, and drove them back to the areas surrounding Beijing.  Now the Imperial Navy has Tianjin under blockade, and land blockading Beijing, waiting out this Commune.  Inside, a Reign of Terror has begun, purging class enemies, as they seek to prepare for a new Miracle of Beijing.

The Ryukyu Clans control much f the Ryukyu Islands save for Imperial Navy bases which they are loath to provoke a confrontation with.  They remain tentatively loyal to the Regency council and do not attack ships friendly to it.  However, with the tacit approval of the Regency Council they've made habit of attacking the Guangdong Merchant Fleet, and fighting with Guangdong over settlements in SE Asia and the Philippines.

Expectation for people RPing a faction or a group within it will be that they generally go with the story, though if you have something good we can work together and potentially alter the story.  The other thing is, if you want to RP, please try to be prompt with posting, it doesn't have to be a big post everyday, but at the same time, I will write over people if they post once every two weeks or something.

7. So in other words mine mine mine!

Look I understand creeping imperial overreach, but you literally seem to think CN RP 2 exists for Japan to be god king and that's how it should be and no one should dare challenge you IC, and if so its a conspiracy against you OOC.  If you want a world that's just you and you're closest friends you should make one where we can't enter.  Most people in CN RP 2 voted to let us enter, and its all their decision not just yours.

8. I'm kind of with Eva.  I queried FHIC on her last post and got quite a few things clarified then didn't get much response when it came to some more disagreeing stuff.  I made the same effort with Mara and Lyn.  Certainly Lyn was pretty civil though a bit stand offish at first, and FHIC was good at first.  But I don't think the problem extends to both sides to the same degree.  All our coalition members tried to address things on a timely basis, were available for IRC query, never stormed out of meetings etc.  The same can't be said in reverse.  We're in this in part because two sides foster mutual antagonisms, but there's no doubt that those antagonisms stem from one side being live and let live with the past, and one side holding very long term grudges.  If the Tricent Hegemony as you like to call it was bound by long term grudges the Tricent Hegemony would be at perpetual war with itself.

The other issue is simply a question of thing things can and cannot do.  A large part of the objections center around no ineffective tactics but unworkable tactics.  This could on one hand be addressed if one of us says, 'This defense doesn't work you still get hit and here's why' or 'this airplane does not have the capability to engage someone from here and here's why' OR it can be explained OOC.  Either way people bitch.  However, its not on us to make sure the adversary doesn't RP god modding offense and defense, its on them, what is on us is to show a reason why and why not.  Just because Mogar doesn't know what he's doing when he throws up a wall of missile spam, doesn't mean I need to lose or not be able to use tactics to defeat it.  And yes tactics involve technology and maneuver.

I'd also point out that the environment under which this would be occurring would be significantly better if the other side were more mature and at least kept their shitting off public channels.  I got plenty of after they posted the first move 'Oh Triyun's lying about his life, his degree etc.'  then after my response, 'HURRRRR why do I have to fight against Triyun at this level he has a degree' from literally the exact same people.  I've got no motivation to be nice to people like that, and it is not something that is particularly historic to CN RP, its a new phenomena with this coalition of theirs and a new low of behavior.  I don't recall EM, Kanks, Cochin, Martens, or I ever doing that to eachother.  Then there are attacks on Voodoo's GMing.  Every experience I've had with Voodoo's GMing he's asked me whomever I'm having a disagreement to state our case and present evidence.  What I see is merely the fact that he listens to my case and my evidence results immediately in him being called bias.  The other respondents rarely then state their case or present contradicting evidence to support their claim.  They just attack him.  So if he rules for me because I'm the only one who presented evidence that's reinforcing his bias.  That's a ludicrous notion.  Weighing cases on evidence presented is the only way not to be bias.  To weigh a case based on whether or not you like someone is bias, but there has been no case where Voodoo has done that, and he was accused as bias right off the bat.  That's just dragging things into the mud.  You want to fix the problem look at the blurring lines there.  I'm not going to go out of my way to help people who are assholes get a less lopsided ass whoopin' :P

9. Knight narrowed his eyes as he watched her go on about this creature.  It sounded all fantastical, and this Yenros person, there was no sorcerer by this name on file.  He shook his head, scowling, "You expect me to believe that.  If a sorcerer of such power existed we would have heard of him.  Even Tyrannia was not that strong.  I think you're just making up a story.  And I think you are hiding here to avoid facing either the Emperor's Men, or something else.  So why not be a good little witch and come with me?"

He said as he approached closely... it was then he heard he rustling in the forest, time was short to get her to surrender.

10. "Enough of your games sorceress!!" he growled as he formed a energy blade around his hand.  He did not know who this Yenros was, probably some trick.  "I am not here with some gangster or some hired thug.  I am here for one thing and one thing only.  And that is where is Yuan Shizi.  He was abducted by magic.  A magic that few possess.  Either tell me where he is or face the consequences!!!!" he said raising his arm ready to finish this.

"If you lead me to Shizi and agree to not use your magic to hurt people again maybe we can work something out!"

11. Lowering the multiplier thresholds seems fair enough to me.  Also, a question.  Do multipliers apply to substituted assets as well?  Like say I substituted 10,000 troops for the 5 squadrons do I get 60 aircraft or 180 aircraft (due to the x3 aircraft multiplier I get). This isn't addressed by the published rules as far as I can see.

As voodoo said that's multipliers of squadrons, not the multiplier for squadrons.

12. Still doesn't help nations without planes, boats, or aircraft.

Aircraft you start off with a base of 600 aircraft just by having a nation.  What's the issue here.

As for boats no you don't have big ships but you have as many shore based missiles, helicopters, missile boats, patrol planes, as you want dictated by common sense plus in Voodoo's iteration 1200 combat aircraft.  That's more than enough to patrol an EEZ.

13. I'd like to propose the following, in terms of military and multipliers.

All nations have a minimum of 200,000 soldiers.

Naval Rules

0-4,000 Infra, 0-500 tech: x2
4,001-5,000 Infra, 501-1,000 tech: x3
5,001-6,000 Infra, 1,001-2,000 tech: x4
6,001-infinity Infra, 2,001-infinity: x5

Air Forces

0-5,000 Infra, 0-1,000 tech: x2
5,001-6,000 Infra, 1,001-2,000 tech: x3
6,001-infinity Infra, 2,001-infinity: x4

If you're in different brackets for tech and infra, go with the higher one.

I'm assuming air forces are squadron multipliers, not in place of a squadron?  If so I'm good.

14. For all this talk of bias, if I make a claim about a maneuver I'm doing with a piece of hardware, or I say someone else fails with theirs, Voodoo never takes my word for it, he always makes me show how I know that.   Other GMs insult players from the other side of the war, do not seem to ask for much evidence at all.  Don't talk to both groups of people about that evidence.... Why's Voodoo the biased one, it just so happens he rules based on facts not opinions.

15. Can we make a ruling to prevent people having to read 50+ pages or longer journals on how to find out what the capabilities of one MISSILE can do and just base it on a cursory glance at Wikipedia?

Well they could also just read the sections within it they were guided to... those are a good deal shorter.

16. So my boat stops, or turns, and presto, no more concern for the missile, since it's intended trajectory is aimed at the ships assumed path.

Probably shouldn't have groped my Empress, then I'd probably have been less likely to jump at the chance to hit you ICly, but since you disrespected me, and my ally, and then supported the rolling of another nation EAI is concerned about in Europe, you put yourself on the opposite side of me.

Uh, 100, 000 ton aircraft carriers don't just turn and stop.  And the engagement window is within the one second mark for that.  If you dropped anchor from a ship moving as fast as you are (and you have to be in order to launch planes), or even just a little, it tear the anchor off.  The distance at which you can jam, you aren't going to be alter course at all again, read.

And beyond that, I'm not going to get into that argument again, other than you're stretching credulity, and for all your bitching you've made how I'm not acting like any nation would and thus am being OOC when I was Sparta in Italy, war over a boob grab is just the height of hypocrisy.

17. Because you say so?  Seriously.

I say Rudo is a dirty smelly commie loving shit eater who wants to make Vedran God Emperor of Earth.  To prove it I'm providing as much evidence as you do when you throw out these allegations.

18. So you're asking me to read multiple journals of a minimum of 300 pages just so I can know how to use missiles properly in a fictional RP game, in which we intentionally created rules to avoid these technobabble arguments in the first place?

Because letting Tricent roll people one by one worked out so well previously.

Character crossing

No crossing characters/nations. What happens to your in Barfistan, stays in Barfistan. If you reroll your nation and go right back to your old tricks, you deserve to get smashed. You need to remember that a new nation is a fresh slate, so don't roll a new nation to go pick fights with the enemies of your old nation.

This goes for others, a new nation should not be viewed in the same lens as the old one just because the person rping it did something objectionable in their last nation.

If a person rerolls and brings old characters into power in a new nation, that's another story. That's not a reroll, its a successor state and how it is treated is entirely up to the RPer.

So does this whole rule just not apply to you... or what?

19. Hence why minimum of 2 GMs really are needed to manage any sizable war.

People had a choice of whom to vote for.  Of the four candidates two were in a war, two were not.  People knew who could rule and who could not.  They chose those two knowing that.  Its a massive breach of GM good conduct that they would authorize a weapon to attack their IC enemies.

As for Voodoo, Voodoo has one ally on each side and is not in the fight.

20. By the time you jam a warhead on a DF-21 at the final phase, or a cruise missile, or whatever with chaff or anything else its to late if it even works.  That's something you would learn if you read the links provided.

As for jamming OTH radars, you'd need to go where they are, something too late right now.
