  1. Thank you Prodigal Moon, And I assure both you, and Planet Bob, that strive to keep the Fifth Column Confederation's ideals of Strength, Growth, Unity, Liberty, and Honor first and foremost in our minds as we move forwards.
  2. I would say that its based on your own preferences. There are a lot of different types of alliances out there, and the important thing is to figure out where you fit in. Micro-Alliances: These are your small fish, often less then twenty members. Pros: A lot of them are very active, and they have a more closeknit community. You also will be considered as more of a person, less then a number to them. You get more personable treatment, and a better chance of having some say in where the alliance is heading. My own alliance, the Fifth Column Confederation is at this stage. Cons: You aren't going to get as much aid usually as they don't have as many big nations to hand out money. There is also a higher chance of getting raided as they don't carry as much recognition as some of the Huge alliances. This can be alleviated by proper diplomatic relations, but it is still a factor. Mid-Tier alliances These are your established but unsanctioned alliances. Pros: There are a ton of them, with varying degrees of activity/government types, aid programs. Cons: This is basically your middle of the road average option, its difficult to diffentiate between the good ones and the bad ones, and they can still get raided, but wont have the programs that the massive alliances have. Sanctioned alliances: These are the big daddies, all the power, all the numbers. pros: safety from raiding, and a bigger aid packages. cons: Hugeness at the cost of personability. While many strive to buck that trend, inevitably, you are going to be a small fish in a big pond. The final thing to consider is your own ambitions. There are many different government types out there. Do you want to just log in, collect, go to war when told and follow one emperor? I'd try the NPO or one of the imperial orders, Do you want to have a chance at leadership every election cycle? Try one of the more democratic alliances. There are also alliances like mine that split the difference, with elected positions but some set leadership. Zacharias is correct though, another piece of the puzzle is the fact that ATM, most alliacnes are involved in a global war. Joining them will likely mean your nation gets involved as well since they are attacking eacothers applicants. Check this forum for more info on which ones are currently at war. Basically, its all up to you, just do your research, get to know some of the members before you sign on, and find a good fit for you where you will have fun. Now on the selfish side: My own alliance, the FCC, would love to have you, so if your interested in a micro, please dont hesitate to stop by. I can also recommend the Terran Empire, or Brotherhood of Sithis as good active alliances that are a little more established then us. NATO is a great big alliance that is nearing sanction and has a lot of good people in it as well. Those would my reccomendations, but again, good luck, and just find somewhere that you will have fun!
  3. The Fifth Column Confederation is proud to see this treaty formalized. The Terran Empire has been a positive influence from the moment of our re-inception, and we are proud to call them friends. We look forward to continuing our relationship in the time to come. -Director of the Fifth Column Confederation
  4. Hey yall, As you know, I have reformed the Fifth Column Confederation. There may still be some other former members out there, I've already met one. Any Ex-Pats are welcome to come to the new forums or IRC at #FCC and stay in touch. I know many of you have moved onto new alliances, and it is NOT my intention to try and steal you back. I just want to be sure to welcome any who have fond memories of the old alliance to have access to its new iteration. Again, PLEASE do not consider this some form of recuitment, we are glad that you have found new homes, and wish you and them good luck, I simply want to make sure that the Reformed Fifth Column Confederation honors your prior commitments to its history. http://w11.zetaboards.com/FCC/index/
  5. The Fifth Column Confederation will be now selling Tech. Rates are to be agreed upon between individual nations, and the FCC will abide by the agreed upon rates. Your tech is guaranteed by the FCC alliance so long as you purchase through one of the posted nations. This list will be updated as need arises. 6. Congrats and welcome to the Cyberverse Blue Mountain Devils.
  7. Welcome Back Halsa! As Director of the reformed Fifth Column Confederation, I wish you the best of luck!
  8. The Fifth Column Confederation is happy to announce that it has begun filling government seats. We have been lucky enough to secure several re-roll nations with prior experience, and a clear understanding of what the FCC is about. We still lack an experienced Minister of War however. If you are looking for an alliance, and in particular if you are a soldier first and foremost, you might just fit that role for us. Pm, join us on IRC at #FCC, or come by the forums for more information.
  9. Agreed. This is how it SHOULD be done. Good luck to you mate, sorry I didnt get the chance to get to know you.
  10. Congrats DB4D! Way to take it to 'em.
  11. Hey Methrage! Happy to see someone else remembers the glory that was the FCC. I was a member for a year and a half back when I joined in '07. Under the nation Bjorkland. It was what made the game fun for me, and I always regretted leaving to start my own alliance. I left CN a few months later due to RL, and when I finally mustered up the time and energy to rejoin CN, I was absolutely heartbroken to see it had shuttered. I started up an homage as a clan in a different game, and when some of the members expressed interest in CN, I felt that there was no true CN without an FCC for those few of us who still remember it. I left NATO (though they were a wonderful alliance) to found the FCC, and I am happy to say that we are growing well so far. We still stand for Strength, Liberty, Honor, Unity, and Growth. Our format is a little different, but the ideals that made the FCC live on. Please do stop by the forums, and if any others have lived on this long, they would be welcomed as honored guests as well. Best of luck to you, and it would be our pleasure to form a diplomatic relationship with your current alliance.
  12. Yes Lurunin, we are using FCC as our AA rather then the full Fifth Column Confederation.
  13. A good day for the Fifth Column Confederation and Pax Romana. Happy to be making good friends with good people so early in our re-birth.
  14. Good news! we were fortunate enough to add 3 more nations last night! We are still seeking some experienced mid-level nations who want to be an active participant in the forging of a new alliance, and we'd also still love some younglings seeking a personal touch in their alliance.
  15. Meh, congrats TIO. Happy to see some courtesy on the Interwebzz, and as a recent NATO member, its nice to see Sir Humphrey get some due. Good luck in the future!
  16. haha I enjoy this. Can't help you out unfortunately. but I enjoyed it
