1. "Indeed, I believe that cross training our soldiers would definitely be of great benefit, as well as encouraging tourism. Give me a moment, and I'll write the treaty up..." Drawing a pen from within her coat, Aurelie quickly wrote down the treaty and put it before Natalia. "Is this all agreeable?"
Hanseatic-Wallonian Treaty of Helsinki Article I. This treaty is agreed to by the governments of the Hanseatic Republic and the Republic of Wallonia, with the intent of bringing these two nations closer in friendship and cooperation. Article II. The two nations agree to cut the costs of importation and exportation to and from one another. They also agree to cut rates on air travel between their nations, encouraging tourism between the two nations. Article III. The two nations agree never to conduct war, economic sanctions, espionage, or any form of hostility against each other. Article IV. Should the Hanseatic Republic or the Republic of Wallonia wish to cancel this treaty, they are required to give a 48 hour notice before the treaty is cancelled. Signed, for the Republic of Wallonia, Aurelie Desmarais
OOC: I'm supposing that cross-training soldiers wouldn't need to be put on the treaty.
  2.
Nobody likes losing. Some people don't want to put forth the effort when they know the obvious outcome.
Myself, if I got invaded without planning or permission, I'd RP no matter what the outcome looked to be. Just to be a thorn in whatever hyperpower is invading me XD
  3. Aurelie Desmarais stood with a number of files held in one hand, a cigarette dangling between the fingers of the other. Her eyes swept swiftly over each word, each word its own harbinger of good news, and a smile began to creep upon the ever-frowning lips of the president of the Republic of Wallonia. "All very excellent," she said, turning her desk chair to face once more towards Allan Chevalier, who sat with one leg over the other, apparently admiring the Charleroi landscape that was visible through the window behind Aurelie. "Our developments astound even myself. It has been a month, perhaps, since we declared independence, and already we are making progress with our own satellite, and an IRBM project." "Indeed," Allan agreed vaguely, nodding his head almost drowsily. "I mean--so far, we have only the engine and the mobile launch platform prepared, but it's a start. As for the IRBM, once we produce and successfully test the first, we can begin mass production. In the mean time, we have begun the construction of up to 20 Raduga Kh-55s and 80 BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles. We can expect for these to be finished within the upcoming year."
  4.
OOC: There seems to be a misunderstanding on the rules...RP aircraft = maximum what you can have IG, times the appropriate multiplier. In this case, times six. NOT what you actually have IG.
OOC: ...>_> I dunno, I was told that RP aircraft=IG aircraft on #CNRP. Hell, and I spent some good money (not really XD) on that aircraft too. Thanks, I'll edit my information.
  5. OOC:...yeah, I do have aircraft IG :/ "Madame President..." Allan was looking over reports from the border patrols. "Aurelie. Look at these reports. Our aircraft patrols are reporting a possible buildup of troops and tanks in the area around the border between Wallonia and Germany." "...such buildups are common, but..." Aurelie paused. "Germany? We've not even had any communications with Germany. But Burgundy...they're certainly close. We may have a problem." "Regardless, our military is superior to Burgundy's in every way," Allan smirked. "We have superior tanks, more troops, superior weaponry, and superior artillery. Should Burgundy attempt anything..." "You forget." Aurelie interrupted. "If Germany gets involved...we cannot stand up against the German military. Burgundy alone, yes. Should Germany aid Burgundy...we will find ourselves under heavy pressure."
  6. Classified to Kettenheim INC Perhaps we are interested in commissioning you to design a weapon for us. A superweapon vehicle--if you are capable of it, then respond to this message with an expected price. --Wallonia
  7. "Burgundaholmr continues to insist that we accept the Wallonians who left for Germany when Lorraine became part of France again," Allan Chevalier spoke with an almost disgusted tone. "Why we should accept such people, who are no better than traitors and cowards in my eyes, I do not know...but the ultimate decision lies with you. I'm not sure why Burgundaholmr is so eager to give them to us, but I don't trust them--not in the least." Aurelie was silent for a moment, and then she spoke up once more. "What is the state of our military currently?" "48,840 soldiers are currently employed in the Wallonian Armed Forces, including the Sentinels," Allan said as he glanced over a number of files in a folder. "Also in our armed forces are 484 tanks, including 150 M1A2 battle tanks...the rest are T-72s. Ten 5-22s, ten F-35s, and ten Typhoons bought from Selenarctos comprise our air force." Allan looked rather proud. "Even if they're bought from another nation, they're still a modern airforce. Even if we couldn't repair it if a bit of paint chipped off." "And the rest of the air force?" "Sukhoi Su-35s," Allan snorted. "I mean, they're not bad. But we should probably purchase more modern equipment." "Navy?" "Nonexistent. We haven't the capacity for such an endeavour yet." "And what of the satellite?" "We plan to begin work soon. Once it's done, if Burgundaholmr makes a move, we'll see it..."
Fine. An American kid whos found Daddys gun. srsly, whilst North Korea are a destabilizing factor in the far east, they dont threaten the west, not yet anyway. Now Iran? Im iffy about those fellas.
North Korea is a threat to the entire world, east, west, north, south, all of it. They have weapons of mass destruction, and has consistently proven that they are not a nation run by reason and logic. What happens when you combine nuclear weapons with a lack of reason and logic? Nothing good... Iran, on the other hand, while politically unstable within itself, the government itself is not nearly as much a threat as North Korea.
  9.
Christ Almighty can you guys not be negative to people for once. Lordliam, if you want to do a political RP, you're more than welcome to do one with me in France. Shoot me a PM with what you're looking for and we'll hook it up. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I'm sorry, it just so happens I spent the past few days studying Hobbes XD But hey, I'm willing to try this out.
  10. Indeed. If people were willing to be mature and cooperative about it? This would work well. Unfortunately, there are some people who just can't bring themselves to be either of those.

They're more than 'just' a kid who found daddy's gun. They're a really irrational, aggressive, and unpredictable kid with daddy's gun.
  12. Our condolences go out to Pravus Ingruo in this difficult time.
Americans?
Not quite. I admit that the United States is a constant threat to global stability--with their apparent idea that the best way to attain peace is to go to arms--and that they certainly aren't helping the political stability of the world. However, one state poses a serious and direct threat not just to global stability, but to the world in general. Shouldn't be difficult to guess. Hint, they have attempted to extort world governments by demanding money on pain of nuclear attack.
  14. "Thank you," Aurelie seated herself at the chair across from Natalia, crossing one leg over the other. She took the iced sweet tea gratefully, and took a sip of the drink. "Indeed, I agree with you in that respect. Our two nations have much in common and much to offer one another in the way of economics and trade, and perhaps that will pave the way for further friendship and trust between our nations." She took another sip of the iced tea, appreciating its cool refreshing taste. Such a drink was certainly welcome after the long and shaky plane journey. "So certainly an economic and trade agreement is in line, I believe, as well as a Non-Aggression Pact--just to make it official. And if you have anything else that you believe should be added, or changed, then of course, please do so."
  15. "Nevertheless, Wallonia has changed dramatically. Industrialisation, the new regime...they would take time to adjust, and in the end they would only wish to return to what they are familiar with. Anyway, concerning the treaty..."
Burgundian-Wallonian Friendship Treaty Clause I This treaty shall encourage friendship and trust between the nations Burgundanholmr and the Republic of Wallonia. Clause II Neither Burgundanholmr nor the Republic of Wallonia shall engage in activities that may in any way harm or damage the other nation. This includes, but is not limited to, military actions, economic sanctions, and espionage. Clause III Should either party wish to terminate this treaty, they must give a 48 hour notice before the cancellation clause comes into effect. Signed, for the Republic of Wallonia, Allan Chevalier, Minister of Foreign Affairs
OOC: Who's angry? I'm just RPing IC.
  16.
"An NAP would be enough. In addition, I shall try to have some of the former Walloons in Germany immigrate to your new republic, with investments also." OOC: Basically, offer of free aid.
"Indeed, an NAP we can agree on," Allan nodded. "As for the latter offer, however, we must pass. These Walloons who emigrated from Wallonia to Germany..." Allan worked to keep a tone of anger from entering his voice. "...they are probably better adjusted to Germany than to Wallonia as it is now. Anyway, if you would write up a treaty, we can sign it."
  17. "Perhaps, Mister von der Goltz, perhaps in the time of the Hohenzollerns, Liege was the cultural centre.. However, I would truly have preferred if you had simply come to Charleroi. Your sudden decision to meet in Liege threw me quite off schedule, though I was able to arrive in time for...preparations." As Allan said this, the three soldiers around the door stiffened somewhat. "And anyway, Charleroi has been the cultural centre of Wallonia since the fall of the Hohenzollerns. But as you said, enough of history. Concerning an MDP or an NAP...I suppose an NAP may be agreed upon. An MDP...I cannot be certain that President Desmarais would make this decision, so I must decline that offer for the time being."
  18. Allan raised an eyebrow at von der Goltz's reply. First of all, Allan found it highly rude and unprofessional of von der Goltz to go to the entirely wrong city to meet Allan himself. Second, Allan had no idea what von der Goltz meant by 'ture capital'. The capital of Wallonia was Namur. Whatever that meant, it would be cleared up in their meeting. As von der Goltz arrived in Luik, he would be escorted to the city hall, where Allan waited as though he had been waiting all year--no sign of a hurried arrival. Only a well-masked irritation hiding behind the charming facade of professionality that Allan wore. Allan sat at the end of a long conference table, and around the city hall were several soldiers and guards. Clearly, Allan was taking no chances. Inside the very room in which he awaited, there were three guards. "Good evening, Mr von der Goltz," Allan greeted the man as he was escorted into the room. "I must say, it is very interesting that you would decide to meet me here. Especially when I had set the meeting place for Charleroi." He emphasised the word; his annoyance was getting the better of him, but he quickly quelled it. "Anyway. While I am unsure why you wanted to meet me at the, er...'ture capital' did you say? The capital of Wallonia is Namur." Allan hadn't expected to give the Burgundian delegate a geography lesson. "Anyway, I understand you wish to discuss something."
  19. Allan Chevalier read the message from the Burgundians with a bit of surprise, and not a little suspicion. It was no secret of the Burgundian connection with the Hohenzollerns who had once held power in Wallonia, and their sudden desire to meet with Wallonia caused Allan a bit of concern. Thankfully, the Burgundians had deployed much of their army away to fight alongside the French--surprisingly--and if they tried anything in this meeting, they could expect a Wallonian military reply.
Classified to Burgundy To: Burgundy From: Allan Chevalier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr von der Goltz, Your message comes as quite a surprise. Nevertheless, I would be willing to meet you in Charleroi--President Desmarais is currently preoccupied in other areas. Sincerely, Allan Chevalier
20.
Not something I would normally do, but maddy is complaining when its completely "her" fault that she got into this situation. It's getting tiresome.
Still, what one should not do is make more such 'offenses' against the respectful way to RP. To be fair, maddy, indeed you probably should have talked this out with Tidy Bowl Man; it would have been resolved much better, and perhaps both parties would be satisfied.
  21.
Like you're mature, maddy. I'm tempted to declare war on you if you were in Asia right now. Stop the whining.
That would be a really bad example of crossing OOC and IC, which is also (in my opinion) a pretty bad thing to do.
  22. Soon after receiving the Hanseatic reply, Aurelie boarded a plane bound for the Hanseatic Republic, accompanied only by a couple of guards who would probably not even be needed once they arrived in the Hanseatic Republic. It was a short flight of only a few hours, though Aurelie allowed herself a couple of hours of sleep towards the end, so as she awoke they had still an hour before arrival in the Hanseatic capital. Thus, when she arrived, she looked surprisingly well for someone who had spent the last few hours on a plane. A long white overcoat guarded the Wallonian president against the cold of the Northern climate, which caused her short, light blonde hair to drift around over her blue eyes. Soon, she had been driven to the Diet Hall and escorted to the room where the Prime Minister awaited her. "Prime Minister, it is a pleasure and an honour to be able to meet you," she said, bowing slightly to the Prime Minister.
  23.
Classified to Hanseatic Republic To: Natalia Elizabeth Pons, Prime Minister of the Hanseatic Republic From: Aurelie Desmarais, president of the Republic of Wallonia Esteemed Prime Minister of the Hanseatic Republic, My name is Aurelie Desmarais, president of the newly-founded Republic of Wallonia; it is an honour to be able to get in contact with you. It is my hope that as two newly-founded nations--though of course the Hanseatic spirit has persisted for far longer--and as two nations with, perhaps, similar views and goals, we can meet to discuss the future relations between our two nations. Sincerely, Aurelie Desmarais
24. "Madame President..." a harried-looking Allan Chevalier burst into the presidential quarters of the Wallonian State Building, several papers in his hands. His typically neat and posh appearance contrasted with the shock in his eyes and the lines of concern on his face. "Aurelie..." "Yes, I've seen the announcement." Aurelie Desmarais sat at her desk, a single hand on her chin, as if contemplating the news. "And I am compelled to agree with France's actions." "But we surely cannot support them militarily..." Allan interrupted quickly. "After all...we'd be annihilated...we haven't the strength..." "No, we have nowhere near the power to make even a dent in any nation. We are, for the moment, the weakling of the world. It is unfortunate," Aurelie added, as she saw Allan wince somewhat at her words. "But it is the truth, and it will be changed. For now, however...as much as I wish to help, we can give France only our moral and, perhaps, economic support."
Classified to France To: Claire Delacour, president of the French Republic From: Aurelie Desmarais, president of the Republic of Wallonia Subject: War Against J Andres Dear President Delacour, As Wallonians and as a sibling nation to France, and a fellow opponent of foreign imperialism in Europe, the Republic of Wallonia would desire nothing more than to stand alongside France in its battle for Europe against the American occupation of Britain. However, in our current state, underdeveloped as we are, I cannot bring myself to openly declare military action against J Andres and its allies when I know Wallonia cannot possibly stand against the forces of these nations. We can only offer France passage through Wallonia should you need it, and our sincerest moral support. And France will always find a safe haven and a friend in Wallonia, regardless of what should happen. Sincerely, Aurelie Desmarais
Later, after the fiasco with the Hohenzollern regime in Wallonia, she was stationed there, but later became involved in the independence movement a few years later. The movement proved successful, and Aurelie secured the position of president in the subsequent elections. Name: Allan Chevalier Title(s): Formerly president of the provisional government of Wallonia, currently Minister of Foreign Affairs Age: 28 Gender: Male Date of Birth: November 29, 1982 Eye Colour: Black Hair Colour: Black Affiliation: Republic of Wallonia Description/Life Story: Allan Chevalier was born and raised in Wallonia, where he witnessed first hand the effects of the ineffective and clumsy reign of the foreign Hohenzollerns. From youth he traveled often through France and abroad, and came to realise that perhaps he could help Wallonia recover from the lingering effects of the inefficient Hohenzollern reign. It was some time later that he came to learn of the movement for indepedence for Wallonia; despite popular belief, the movement did not originate with him nor with Aurelie Desmarais. However, it was these two who spearheaded the movement. After independence was secured, Allen ran for presidency but narrowly lost to Aurelie Desmarais, and is now serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
