I have no nominations for the blank sections.

  2. To be fair the world is probably over 75% smaller than it was in 2008/9.

Not that it matters anyway as going off the last war not many of the people who are left have anything to fear from Oculus.

The attempt of the boogeyman bloc is sub par at best.

Without trying to further fan the flames here - I agree with you but not because I think any given Oculus member is incompetent.

Rather, over the past two years or so our world has begun to accelerate its own doom and we've seen the disappearance of many active players as well as active alliances.

MI6 did it in the form of an alliance - Pulled away active people who were helping hold up their respective alliances into one group causing instability in multiple groups inadvertently.

Oculus and Doom both did it in the form of the current treaty web - Pulled the majority of the active game into one clustered group of alliances. Even Polaris or "Polarsphere" is not blameless here but we are much less attached to the main grouping than the rest of the game.

It's not some failing on the part of Pacifica, or Doom, or Umbrella, or any one alliance that the treaty web has become a black hole - collapsing under its own gravity via a lack of any (viable) outside competition.

It's simply a problem that has to be fixed one-by-one with each alliance. Many still play this game like we have massive numbers to play with, we don't. I would point to other [ooc]games[/ooc] where there are maybe 1000-2000 nations in the largest comparable worlds to CN and how their politics work. The treaty web must split apart by necessity or risk strangling the political piece of the game, thus losing the overwhelming majority of players.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through Bob, not a nation was stirring not even Tenbob.

The government positions were chosen with care, in the hopes that St. Rush would soon be there.

The players were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of a real war danced in their heads.

When on IRC there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my WoW raid to see what's the matter.

Away to the keyboard I flew like a flash, tore open the queries and joined in the clash.

When what to my wondering eyes did appear, a troll in the public channel calling me queer.

With a WPM and insults so quick, I knew for certain it was a false nick.

More rapid than eagles his reinforcements they came, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

"Now Mogar! Now Chim! Now Tywin and Italia! On Frawley! On Rab! On Baltus and hades!"

To the topic of the chan, to the bottom of the brawl!

Now troll away, troll away, troll away all!

Up to the housetop the coursers they flew, with a sleigh full of nukes and St. Rush did too.

As I drew in my head and was turning around, St. Rush came onto Skype with a sound.

He was dressed in slacks way up to his chest, and told me to bring him Pepto as his behest.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly elf.

And I laughed at him, in spite of myself.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
    Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
He nukes all the trolls, and turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
    And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

I got lazy towards the end yet I tried my best. Now I can't seem to stop rhyming, I don't even jest! Warm wishes, happy holidays, and peaceful new years going out to all of you from the New Polar Order.

Stop by #polaris if you need some company during the holidays, we're happy to chat. Just don't bother hades, he might just snap.

  4. Let me begin by saying, anyone in the world with a pulse knows that I have ZERO love lost for Mi6. I would not piss on them if they were on fire.

That being said, there are some real idiots in Oculus. Not for fighting this war, not for blowing Mi6 to smithereens, but for the sheer unbridled arrogance that so many people who never accomplished anything on Planet Bob, have displayed with their words throughout this fouled up abortion of a military action. So so many of you are bending and contorting what is left of your twitching bodies in an effort to either pat one another on the back for a job well done, or to engage in a circle jerk to celebrate your "victory." I know not which it is. Nor do I care.

Let us be clear on one thing. It is EASY to win a game of chess when nobody is in the other chair. That so many nobodies throughout the annals of Planet Bob History now sit at the big kids table is not , in any way, shape or form, an accomplishment on even the most small level. Long ago the T-Rexes wiped out the Raptors. The falling corpse of the many Brontosaurus smashed the last of the Dilos. What 90% of you clowns in Oculus fail to realize as you all rush to one another to congratulate yourselves, is that you amount to nothing more than  the last of the Dodo's walking along a decaying beach pecking at the last of the trilobites. You are nothing. You have accomplished nothing, you are capable of achieving no more than nothing. Your lone accomplishment is that you managed to care, longer than anyone else. Enjoy your... reign. King of all Dodos.

  5. Propaganda implies there was actually a reason for war besides "Do something about it  :smug: "

I feel like this war attempted to have a small backbone with the whole "we dislike you and you're annoying" theme..

But we've had plenty of wars coming from Doomhouse or other parties with similar reasoning and the propaganda flowed.

  6. I just noticed my current nation hit 1000 days old two days ago. If anyone cares, this is my third nation and the original was from May 2010. Without doing a lot of math, that puts me at a little less than 6 years total, or around 2000 days of CN.

Normally I'm not incredibly active on the OWF, nor do I interact with a large portion of CNers regularly, but I feel like I should type a little post out here.

6 years ago, I was 15. I was in Legion, would log onto the OWF, and get trolled by MK or GOONS. It's crazy to think back on how CN has been a constant throughout a lot of my "growing up" years. A lot of you people have, at some point, been the only people I've felt comfortable turning to when needed. Despite my alliance hopping ways, I do still hold a soft spot for everywhere I've been a member of and I hope you guys don't hold it too harshly against me at the end of the day.

Cheers to y'all for being a cool community that was worth sticking around 2000 days with. Don't you pre-karma people feel old yet? :P
