Gideon Medical (GiMed) is proud to announce a new program.
With the recent wars and the call for medical assistance in thousands of nations Gideon Medical of the Aredan Nation has vowed to create a new program to provide medical assistance for nations in need of aid. Doctors of Critical Situations (DoCS), as the new program is called strive to give the best assistance to any affected nation. The doctors, nurses, medicine and all other staff and equipment are dedicated to providing this aid equally and unbiased to any nation requesting their assistance. GiMed spokeswoman Elyan Gieston announced the new program yesterday evening at a company news conference. She would go on to say about the program,
“Doctors of Critical Situations are an association of medical staff and equipment dedicated to help the innocent civilians affected by war or natural disasters. Wars and natural disasters both can destroy entire towns, communities, cities and even sometimes nations. While the sudden emergence of this program has been during a time of war we have been supporting and planning DoCS for a while.
The medical staff of the program, are men and women who have dedicated their time for helping those across the planet in need of the assistance DoCS can give them.”
Later questions would ask about how much money actually goes to the program and more importantly those actually affected by the wars and disasters. As well as since the company is an openly Christian company how much religion will be played into this program. Gieston would answer both of those by saying,
“Only 10% of the money and donations will go to the staff of the program the rest will go to benefit the victims through medicine, equipment, travel, and other necessities that the victims may need. She furthered to say that the medical staff actually receives very minimal pay and most of them do it out of their own free will and have other jobs elsewhere.
As far as the Christianity concerns of the company, we recognize that while the company is Christian it will not preach or teach the gospel to the victims. The most that DoCS will spread Christianity is through our actions, Ministers are not allowed to travel with us unless the nation affected permits ministers to come as well, but the medical staff themselves are not allowed to talk about Christ or Christianity unless the victim openly wishes to discuss it. We take Christianity very seriously but we also take the right for people to not have any religion thrown into their face and we will not do that.”
The Government of Aredan supports the cause of this program it does not take any responsibility to the actions and decisions of the DoCS. The Governments spokesmen Laeth Restan stated
“We applaud Gideon Medical for their dedication to help all the nations involved with the recent conflict, while GiMed is headquartered inside Aredan we do not control or make decisions for the company and the new Doctors of Critical Situations. The government of Aredan may give occasional financial gifts, but it will never give material gifts and will never request DoCS to spend the money in specific or influenced manner.”
Some requirements of Nations requesting aid from DoCS include nations that are in anarchy, lost over 60% of their infrastructure, and currently at peace with all nations. Nations that have been hit by natural disasters will also receive aid no matter what the political status of the nation is, unless it will severely risk the lives of DoCS staff. Eventually GiMed will create another program to follow up after the initial shock of the situation. This program will rebuild communities and help the victims through the suffering caused.
GiMed stated that DoCS currently can only support helping one nation due to its small size, but hopes that this will become a planetary program that will be able to help hundreds of nations at once. Hanlyn Ship works has told GiMed that it will create a small medical ship to donate towards DoCS and expects nothing in return. The ship will have 2 Surgery rooms and 50 rooms for patients to be watched at. Other Aredan companies have also donated items such as helicopters, cargo planes, and ships to move staff and equipment.
