This here is the problem with this game.  Lots of people talk about wanting a war but few are willing to nut up and do what it takes to start one.  Then, when someone (read: MK, NPO) consistently goes out and starts them, those same people complain about us starting all the drama.

I picked you, but this goes for everyone.

People have been repeating this for years, but it still doesn't capture the full picture. If you start wars outside certain concentrations of power you are intentionally ostracized and placed into a position where you can never repeat the action again. Then the action is immediately squashed so that those in power can maintain their power.

It's not that TOP, Polar, MK, and NPO are the only ones with enough cajones. It's that they are the only few who achieved enough power to not have their wars squashed by greater powers.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult to attain a level of power so that your crusades become unsquashable. Arguably as other have mentioned elsewhere VE, GOD, RoK, and maybe a few others have achieved that middle relationship between Top dog and pawn.

Anyway, it's not that others do not have the skill, desire, or mentality to have game changing schemes. It's that conformity to the line you guys are all shouting has been pushed to the fullest for at least as long as I've been here and from what I understand, even before that.
  2. But you're gov, aren't you? Work something out then! I assure you if there was an alliance that we felt strongly enough about rolling to actually post on the CN forums about it, we would just go ahead and get the rolling done with (as has been customary in the past).

I doubt it. Considering you and yours a year or two ago was speaking publically about rolling everyone from ponies to Valhalla to NPO (post pre-empt) and not doing it. I mean biggest hole in your argument is when you all shit yourself when VE told you not to hit GOD. It was then followed by lots of whining and bellyaching on these forums.

But since this is an OOC forum I'll save you the list of cowardly things you and your allies have done. Ultimately though, the amount of joy I'd get from seeing you rolled isn't close to the amount of interest I'd have to put into the game again in order to get anything out of it.

If we could roll anyone I'd like it to be you guys though. I really have no huge beef with NG or NPO. I've always been semi-friendly with Polar and I've never had a bad opinion of TOP even though because of their support at you; we're usually at odds. The others on the list I either like or don't care one way or the other.

Oh, that was a mistake. I was making a list of the important/big Alliances that I considered that were likely to engange in wars... and whilst I was doing it I changed the system and started to follow the "score order" as to avoid getting confused. The MK remained on the top of the list because I had scrolled down the page and I was lazy to fix the whole thing. That's why the  MK is on the top... but I don't think it's so important, since people are expected to read the whole list... and following the "score order" was simply something I was doing to keep myself organized and try not to forget or repeat any Alliance.

I don't think it should be a big deal.

No big deal, just thought it was worth pointing out.

Valid CB as any to roll MK. Someone get to work.
  4. The first two of your three examples were responses to hostile propaganda either in part or in whole and are thus inappropriate for your argument. Only the last "fits", and even it was so wildly bizarre and (though few admit it) pervasive that it transends the "lulz" distinction into its own screwed plane of reality I hope we never again visit.

How does this undo my argument at all? Are you guys missing some chromosomes or something?

I'm glad you have forsaken the BIOdad affair. I hope you guys never do that shit again too.
  5. If your criteria for "lulz" alliance is those that sign treaties, at least ostensensibly, for parameters largely outside of playing Planet Bob's game of thrones*, than the majority of alliances would be "lulz" alliances.  Alliances who don't have any expressed purpose outside of self existence and having friends, notably alliances like MHA and others.

*OOC: Not a reference to CN as a game, but the in game "game of thrones" of alliances vying for political position and dominance, that some in-game alliances don't participate in, most clearly neutrals.
Just a note that it was Umbrella, not NG.

That's not even close to what he said. He said a "lulz alliance" views Planet Bob as secondary to a different plane's shits and giggles. The era pre-Equilibrium of the sort of humorless humor "loloooololol we're ADHD kiddies" "Doomhouse is doomed house" "BIOdad 5ever" and whatever other shit you guys came up with are actually great examples.

I mean just look at the images you guys (used to) wear. You'd never see NpO, Pacifica, or GATO sporting a pill for ADHD as their pip now would you?

I think he went too far on GATO, ODN, and TLR (maybe NG) though, but you and GOONS are spot on.
  6. Yeah...these are my favorite. Since Omni left Dreamweaver has taken most of the brunt. He's such a terrible leader we got canceled on by half our allies outside CnG within a day of him becoming AC. I win only because I had been calling for one of them to be dropped for months.

I really miss me and my friends+new guys vs. you and the old guard. I don't think I ever took "most of the brunt" though, since my friends always kept me safely out of reach of everyone no matter what impulsive thing I wanted to do. Fun times.

Internally, Lucius and Os had a little spout there for a while. ODN is the most civil internal alliance I've ever been in, but that still was cool.

Sponge vs. Moo is a good one.
Didn't Xiph and Chefjoe have a pretty tense one for a while?

    If I was being mean:

Sardonic vs. courage would be a good one.
    Ramirus vs. sanity
Dickos vs. actual words in his treaties  Dickos.
