  1. I've noticed many of the people defending IG stat based Spy odds are those that already HAVE the stats to spy on most of the world.

If I have a door that is sealed by a god damn 500 lbs steel bar, 90% spy odds doesn't magically lift that bar and allow a spy in.

If you're not creative enough that day to find a way around that obstacle then don't try to claim you're spying.

The only thing IG spy odds should mean is that if you have 90% on me I can't claim I have super detection powers on your spy and find them as soon as they set one foot into my nation.

Rather they are extremely difficult to find, and thus gives them that chance to succeed and time to plan how to go around the obstacles placed before them.

Or perhaps no one has thought about WHY the game stops at 90% spy odds. Ever think that even Admin realized all spying isn't going to work on even weak nations?

    Blow torch anyone?

  2. Yeah, thats fine, however so many people go far too far and just get into godmod areas.

I did say a bit more, thing like expanding it could render it quite impregnable to anything but brute force.

Nah, overloading your security system is possible, even though you have the most advanced ones because I have never seen a program without any security holes in it.

  3. Ok, a few simple likes of RP will stop anyone placing spies in my country.

"Whenever anybody enters room, they place their finger, a blood sample is taken and if their DNA is not on the database, the are instantly executed by lethal electric shock. (Max one test per hour)"

One line of RP, an extra paragraph or two to explain, two more posts to fix in stone, and not one human spy will get in.

I think he meant months of RPing a security system that will reduce the chance of a spy getting in, not stopping all of them.

EDIT: You do realize that a hacker might able to force the security door open remotely, correct?

  4. Alright, I really disagree that we should use only in game odds to determine spy success. People who RP greater security should have the benefit of it influencing their RP. This is CNRP, so RP quality and quantity should count for something. The people who put time into RP should always, in my book, have some benefit against the big, bad, lazy RPers who just happen to have higher NS.

I'm not saying throw in-game out the window, but really, RP has to count for something.

Agreed. RPers who put efforts into RPing the spying of another nation deserve to have a better spying odds, rather than simply stating the sentence I posted above.

  5. Here's a thread from long ago on RPing economy.

    We should restart the discussion.

That topic was shot down a long time ago, and will get shot down again. No one wants to give out their IG nation's info in fear of their enemies using it to their advantage.

  6. Although IG spying odds should be still be used in the RP spying, the RPer can also twist the spying odds a bit with creativity rather than saying, "ZOMG! I HAZ SPIED YOUR NATION! LOLOL!"

  7. I don't agree with saving stats for the most part but I can agree to a compromise; they have to gradually RP the effects over a month or two, dragging themselves down to the level they're left at. Because even though we don't translate everything directly in CNRP, it's still CNRP.

I agree. If we were to lose about 2000 infra, we will have to RP the loss of our infra over a period of month or so.

  8. A loud boom coming from the Georgia is heard soon after the boarding parties left the ships.

    **USS Georgia**

    "Who the hell just fired!?!?!"

"I don't know sir, but the #2 gun on the #3 turret is the one that fired the shot."

Just then, a loud explosion is heard as the 4th TUO ship is hit with the 16 inch HE shell...

"Don't tell me they are going to sink us..." sneered a TUO member who was in the 4th ship.

    ----------------------------

    Meanwhile...

Radio transmission from the GLSIA ship:

"We are 200 miles away from your position. We should arrive around in 3 hours. Please prepare the TUO members for boarding onto our ship. Also, we are wondering if you can get the 300 TUO operatives off of the land since we have been ordered to arrest all TUO members."

  9. Private, TUO new HQ:

"It seems that we are having trouble trying to carry out our attacks now. The non-TUO members in the law enforcement authorities are arresting our members who are in the law enforcement agencies left and right. Without any support from our members who are in those agencies that are busy trying to avoid arrest, we will have a much harder time attacking. We lost nearly 400 members in trying to rescue our operatives who were training. On top of that, we are running low on cash. Any ideas people?"

"I say we should stop attacking, buildup our cash reserves and memberships, and attack later when the time is right."

"I agree, we made a fatal error of attacking at the wrong time and when most of our field operatives were under-trained."

"Alright it is, we end all attacks for a year."

All TUO representatives nod in agreement

    ----------------------

OOC: I decided to continue RPing this when I feel like it. I can't think of anything interesting.

  10. IC: The survivors retreated to the safe house, to dress their wounds and assess their losses. Three wounded, all told, though in a coule days those people could be up and about again. Two dead.

The captain shook his head. "Time to interrogate the prisoner again, I think."

This time, when he woke, Garand would have 4 operatives in the room--the same two from when he woke the first time, and two more that he hadn't seen before. All of them were staring at him intensely, their expressions, if not hostile, not welcoming, either.

"You don't know names. how about faces?"

OOC: not sure where to go from there...

"I told you the only thing I will tell you is the location of that meeting. Too bad for you if you didn't get a chance to see their faces, you mother(insert cuss word). If you really want to see the pictures, why not walk up to anyone who works for the local police force, and the military in this city and see it for yourself? Everyone in the police and military in Detroit is part of the TUO, if you haven't noticed."

  11. OOC: Depends on how you intend to use it, and how it's deployed.

OOC: The insect repellents would be used to get past though checkpoints and searching. A certain type of explosive would be converted into insect repellent for smuggling, and then reversed when it reached it's destination.

The second type of chemical I am planning on is to be fired by plastic shells at enemy jets during dog fights. The chemicals stick onto the enemy's jet, would amplify radar signals, and glow bright neon green during nighttime to give away the enemy's position. If sprayed on the windshield, it would block the view of the enemy pilot, and if sprayed on where the radio transmitter is located, it would mess up the radio signals.

  12. "What are the casualties?"

"30 were killed, 64 were injured, lost 12 vehicles, and lost 10 helicopters."

    "(insert cuss word)!"

    ------------------------------------------

    GLS national news report:

The TUO members had escaped from the gun fights in Distract 456, where the central police station was located. 30 people were killed and 64 were injured, including police officers, soldiers, and SWAT officers. 10 police and military helicopters were shot down by the TUO members' missile launchers, and 12 vehicles were destroyed. The TUO members were nowhere to be seen, but security will be increased in Detroit.

  13. Outside:

It looked like it was time to bring out the big guns. After losing a man to the rocket launchers, and two others sustaining wounds of various seriousness, the bigger operatives retrieved launchers from their backs. While under cover, they fed heat-seaking missiles into them, then in near-perfect coordination sprang out of cover and fired on the helicopters.

    Inside the Bathroom:

"Of course, it is hard to recognize someone when the light is in your eyes." The light would be too bright for the captain or his fellows to see what they were doing before it was too late. In unison, the agents raised pistols with silencers on them and picked their targets, firing in such quick succession that second and third targets were hit before the first that were killed had time to fall.

The men in the office waited until the inspection had passed them by, then cautiously made their way out the door, killing anyone they came across. They shot only with silenced pistols.

    Outside:

When a heat missile is fired, dozens of police officers and soldiers stormed toward the direction of the missiles being fired. They would use ladders to climb onto low roofs, or use long wires with large hooks on the end, fired by guns to reach long roofs. The snipers would have to defend their roof, because swarms of angry SWAT officers and soldiers are going to attempt to storm their roof.

Meanwhile, the police forces' and military's snipers were arriving in armored trucks and vans, ordered to set up their own positions and started firing at any operatives who expose their position.

    ------------

    Inside:

The operatives' luck was sort of over, the backup generator finally started up, but it was malfunctioning so the lights were flickering and due to the unstable power supply, the security systems still couldn't start up.

    -----------------------------------

    The bathroom:

There were plenty of officers still alive, and they noticed the shooting when the lights came on. They pulled out their own pistols and started firing, and some of them radioed for backup.

    ----------------------------------

    The office:

Several police officers noticed the operatives walking around and shooting the other officers when the lights came on. They shouted, radioed for backup, and started to also fire. Several armored police officers armed with automatic shotguns or assault riffles stormed in and started firing.

    -----------------------------

    The garage:

The TUO representatives were getting away, fast. The armored police vans had already started to move. The operatives would need lots of luck in order to stop all of the TUO representatives.

    --------------------------------

    GLS National News Report:

Breaking news, the TUO strikes again, this time they knocked out the power supply in the area around the central police station in Detroit. Moments later, snipers started firing at the patrolling soldiers and police officers. Backups and helicopters arrived, and the snipers started firing heat seeking missiles at the helicopters.

    More information will arrive.

  14. OOC: Ok what if I just deleted that part? I know that he's frozen, so I wrote it so that it really doesn't matter whether or not he actually IS frozen. But since everyone seems to care so much, why don't I just delete then?

OOC: Have you told President Rothenberg that you have attacked his CNRP nation? He hasn't even responded yet, so I am assuming he has no idea that you are invading his nation.

  15. **The TUO ships**

The boarding parties tied the TUO members down so that they couldn't move. They then took anything of value to the counter-terrorism agencies (photos, chain of command lists, etc.) with them which would be handed over to the GLS once they arrived.

One of the TUO crew members shouted, "You are so (insert cuss word) screwed!" as they were tied.

    ----------------

    Private:

"Bad news sir, The United States had arrested our rescue crew at a checkpoint and are going to turn them in to the GLS authorities."

    "How do you know?"

"You dumb (insert cuss word), you do know that I am the high officer of the GLSIA (Great Lakes State Intelligence Agency). That is how I found out."

  16. **USS Georgia**

"Alright crew, showtime. Where's TF 13?"

"20 nautical miles to the south, that's 1 hour."

"Close enough. Once the boarding parties are on the ships, we have them search through the cargo holds and the cabins. I want to be sure of who we're dealing with. They'll radio back their findings and remain on board until I give the command to recall them."

    "Aye, captain."

    **The TUO ships**

The boarding parties quickly searched through the ships and found nothing of note besides pictures of the men the TUO was trying to rescue. They secured the ships and then waited for orders to come.

    *To the GLS Government*

On of our naval vessels has captured 5 ships from a group calling themselves the TUO. We believe that they are a terrorist organisation operating within your nation. Would you like us to hold them for extradition?

    Reply from the government:

"Hold them. We have already sent 4 ships to arrest them. We do have to warn you though. Even though they are horrible a fighting, they seem have a nasty habit of damaging everything around them.

  17. **USS Georgia**

"Who the hell is the TUO?"

"Sir, I think they're a terrorist group from somewhere. read it in the news a while ago."

"Hmm, interesting. Prep the boarding party. Give TF 13 a call and see what they're up to. We may need some support. Plot firing solutions for the first four ships, one turret for each ship. Bring us five miles to the nearest ship and we'll launch the boat."

    *To the TUO ships*

This is the USS Georgia of the Unites States Navy. You will immediately cut your engines and come to a stop. Your ships will be boarded and searched. Failure to comply will result in being fired upon.

    Radio transmission from TUO ships:

We have stopped, make it quick.

    -----------------------

    600 miles north:

    GLS counter-terrorism agency ship, private:

    "Can make it in time?"

"Not sure, even if we don't, we would still have plenty of time to arrest or sink them since they also have to head back to GLS. If they get around us, good luck to them getting back into Great Lakes State."

  18. OOC: I hope you don't mind me jumping ahead to when they run into my navy.

    IC:

    **USS Georgia**

"Captain, new radar contacts, running at high speed southward, they appear to be heading straight towards Xaristan!"

"How many and can you identify their origin or their identities?"

"Five contacts and no sir, nothing."

"Alright, I'll alert the rest of the crew. Navigator, plot us a course to intercept at 30 knots. Engine room, make turns for 30 knots."

    "Aye, Captain."

The captain picks up the PA system mike and begins speaking.

"Attention all crew, all hands to battle stations, repeat, all hands to battle stations."

    Radio transmission:

"This is the TUO, we are here to evacuate our field operatives that were being trained by Louis Egon, and we only have 24 hours before they all get slaughtered. Attack us or delay us to the point where our under training operatives get killed and you will regret it. We are not armed and just need to evacuate our operatives, I repeat, we are not armed.

Meanwhile, four other boats armed with torpedoes also left GLS and headed for Xaristan. Their mission? Capture or sink the five TUO boats.

  19. Response from Louis Egon:

You have 24 hours. Any left after that time will be considered enemy combatants. Have fun with the blockades.

Five ships left the harbor and begin to steam toward the location to pick up the operatives...

    ----------

OOC: Raritan, its up to you if you want to keep the ships from entering the area, but if you do, you might have the TUO breathing on your nation's neck.
