There's no grand paranoia here when I say that I wouldn't put it past the people in charge to try it, and the follower-alliances not to care. Idiocy and apathy have long gone hand-in-hand, especially from your corner of the world.

Why do you have any expectation that we should treat you with respect, especially after posts like this? I keep seeing this: posts that simultaneously cry about not being treated properly with tinfoil theories about our coalition structure. One or the other, brudda.

Why is it called 'terms' it's punitive reparations. Call a 'spade a spade' and be honest.

I am. You're free to call it what you like, as am I. Of course at the end of the day my opinion on the matter means far more than yours, but you did ask me to be honest, so here it is!

  2. There's always one alliance out there that practically hands our protectorates as though they were free. It was the Apparatus for a while before they merged into Pax Corvus, seems like TTE has taken up that mantle ever since.

So, good luck, I guess? I always want there to be more successful alliances out there but this announcement isn't an indication of any sort of quality or characteristics beyond existence.

  3. Tragic. It is times like this where it's difficult to see this world as anything more than a collection of fragile creatures. Terrible things can happen by the hand of a monster or just by nature itself. For these times it is necessary to set aside in-world struggles and unite as a community.

Rest in Peace, Andrew. You won't be forgotten.

  4. Now Bob, I'm not sure what kind of Kool Aid TOP's been making you drink since you joined but you were once capable of rational thought so I'm assuming that part of you still is. Even you have to admit that there's no comparison between the two people.

The first is a clueless blowhard who once non ironically called everyone who disagreed with him sheep.

The second is a fairly competent technocrat who, although he has more of an attitude than you'd expect to see on most alliances' governments (he is Non Grata after all), doesn't say that many inflammatory or off the wall things. Sure he's not too happy with you and your friends now but you are taking part a coalition that's crushing his alliance so what do you expect, a gift basket?

Sure, Steve is better then Tywin, the setup was more for comedic purposes.

But I'd by lying if I didn't point out that he's been making my truther friends jealous with his level of conspiracy claims as of late. Everything left, right, and centre is some sort of elaborate plan by someone on our side (usually TOP) to take over the world. It's not that I don't find it flattering (I truly do) but it veers past credibility after the first dozen or so times and just becomes pure comedy.

  5. The reality here is... the opinions expressed by Umbrella members are only as relevant as their present position in the alliance. For example, if those are the words of Daikos, they are much more indicative of a path and prevailing attitude going forward. Whereas if they are the words of say.. Silver Empress... they are passing opinions of a detached member. Everything has perspective, so without knowing the specific who's of these statements, they really do not mean all that much at all. But they are fun to read nonethelesss.

Doesn't this apply to just about every alliance though, save for government-less ones like LSF?

  6. I must admit, you are doing an excellent job as your coalition's leader.

Who can win in #conspiracyoff 2014?

In the red corner- Tywin Lannister, with his "global stability" and claims that he ran his coalition while second in command of HB!

In the blue corner- Steve Buscemi, with his infamous "It's all TOP's fault" and his "why don't you get out of peace mode" shenanigans!

Two enter, but only one can leave. Let's see which one leaves the Octagon, pay-per-view for only $19.95!

  7. Shut up we have to hate each other [ooc]or the game isn't worth it[/ooc].

Honestly, though, you used to seem a lot more humble back then. I understand, it can be more fun :v

I'm convinced that the amount of time I put into alliance politics is negatively correlated with the amount of shit I spew on the OWF. Take that as you will.

  8. I have no doubts as to the authenticity of this, hell I probably helped write it.  What does it prove/solve/inspire?

This seems to be standard forum talk for just about every forum I've ever had the displeasure of visiting.  It's not particularly damning, and if there wasn't so much truth to it, I'd actually be tempted to be resentful of it if I was one of those aforementioned AA's.

You're better than this D1, but other than stirring the !@#$, what is the point of this remarkable revelation?

Dude, how is this not damning? They called some of our members "strange people"!

I'm glad to carry the motion forward to cancel this treaty, you parasol monsters.

  9. Bob continue on with your delusion....these are not the droids you are looking for....

Excellent retort. We can't all be as clever as NG- whether with their OWF "revelations", their diplomatic prowess, or their choice of allies. I can only dream to one day fuck up a strategic advantage as well as you guys did!

  10. Is this your opinion based on OWF posturing and disagreements with what he says, or based on actual discussions you've had with Rey where you've determined he's mentally incapable? :|

Rey is only as mentally incapable as the rest of us, in that he continues to exist on this world in the year of 2014.

Seriously though, most people who sound like idiots on the OWF (myself included) are totally normal, rational people outside of it. It's just this venue that breeds vitriol and trash talk.

  11.

I think there are some faulty assumptions here.  First, you say we should set the expectation what terms are acceptable but we haven't actually done so.  We have.  It's white peace.  That's the expectation of what's acceptable.  When NPO, or any alliance, comes in on a treaty to defend an ally they know is on the side that's going to lose, that's the reasonable expectation.  The expectation that we'll cave to terms when we're called upon to join the losing side is not acceptable.  We don't have Tywin Lannister's commitment to only joining the side we know is going to win.  I would understand it if we were central to the CB, or if we'd actually been beaten.  But if we're going to be singled out as the prize that got others to join the winning coalition, we're going to have to actually be beaten before we quit.

Second, our other option is to continue fighting.  We don't need peace from them any more than they need peace from us.  We don't want peace any worse than they do, certainly not judging by the declarations coming from each side.  TOP can stay in peace mode.  Polar's lower tiers can keep taking a beating.  And, as Caliph says, we'll let the terms play out this way.

You think it's acceptable, we don't. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't mind continuing to have your teeth kicked in. We're ready and waiting for when you see the light.

  12. Even if this is real (which is completely suspect given the biases of the source and the lack of factual evidence), so what? Umbrella has the right to have their own internal discussions, some of which may not necessarily be positive towards their allies.

I, and I'm sure the rest of TOP as well, have nothing but the utmost respect for Umbrella. They've done an excellent job this war and I couldn't ask for better allies. If you think we're going to fracture as well as you and IRON did, then you underestimate our resilience.

  13. uh, RoK kinda committed to one side then flipped with nothing changing about the war. GOD's ally was directly targetted unnecessarily after GOD threw their weight in for your coalition.

Jesus Christ you're so dense these days.

And what has changed here? If you're going to criticize RoK for supporting Polar, feel free to do the same for GOD. I really don't see what the difference is here.

But hey, you only really support the people on "your side", so your response isn't exactly surprising.

You mean that time we DoW'd a RoK ally against a prior agreement, then posted the DOW with a message taunting RoK about their inability to defend allies?

    Oh, wait...

You missed the point and picked up only the ad homium there, numbnuts. Try to read through the insults and learn something for once in your sordid existance. See this line? Ignore it. It's for my benefit. And the practice in ignoring irrelevant bits will probably be good for your reading comprehension. Certainly can't hurt it.

    The point:

    The personal attack:

See the substance in the first quote? The acknowledgement that sometimes we have to fight coalitions containing friendly alliances? Followed closely by the actual reason that I might be annoyed? Yeah, try addressing that. The insults are purely for my entertainment.

If you're annoyed by the realities of coalition warfare, then you're an idiot... But then again, you're in GOD, so wasn't that clear already?

Feel free to make your own decisions... now that you've made your bed, feel free to lie in it. Enjoy your surrender, I know I will.
