  1. it is only the Hegemony that has ever tried (and occasionally succeeded) in driving people from Planet Bob.

Are you being genuinely honest in this, or is yours an intentional revisionism? While the Hegemony has been accused to having sometimes persecuted players rather than characters, they were and they are not the only ones. Every time this subject is mentioned the name "Barakady" starts glowing bright in my mind...

(I apologize if this has been addressed already in the thread: the Search function doesn't seem to work anymore and I can't read everything!)

You may not do anything about it!

    Subject: Warning: VOGON POETRY inside!

    Message: "Harmless! Harmless!

    Burning bright

    In the forest

    of Traal's night!

Marvel at the juicy glowing sky,

see its big acid greenish vault.

    Tell me, DevastationStation,

Can you see the square ships,

    Half-chewed-splattered-corn-yellow

Stinking even in the vacuum of space

    Coming on your cities,

    Coming on your armies,

    Nuking your lands,

    Devastating your Stations,

    Asphalting your orbit?

Your Gurganblash Dhant Woek nose growth

    May look like cheese,

    May smell like venomous mushroom,

And can worsen with our Radiating Gift

But you'll always be just a turkey

No match for the armpit charm

Of even a single Vogon soldier,

    Or his mother's.

    Little armadillo-like IRON foot soldier,

Who put you in that crap?

Dost thou know who put you in that crap?

Everyone under the big acid greenish vault

    of the juicy glowing sky

Asks why, why do you even bother?

The Vogon Destructor Fleet was on you,

    And your hopeless cause revealed

    Itself

    As hopeless."

    Subject: Vogon Poetry Report

Message: You have been delivered Vogon Poetry by jerdge. Even if you're not at war with him anymore, 12,347 of your soldiers are now sick and 1,078 tanks suddenly rusted. You captured one Vogon soldier and other 35 of your soldiers needed medical treatment as a consequence.

The Vogon Poetry depressed 12.321 of your land, rendered useless 1,907.984 of your technology and painted green all your infrastructure that didn't suicide. The Vogons looted $50,000.000.04 from you but they later dropped it (because they were irritated by the .04 change) and you gained an everlasting disgust for poetry. In the end the Vogon Poetry was Really Horrible. Any existing peace offers that were on the table jumped down and ran away screaming in terror.

    New Reverie,

the (once) mighty are losing because they based their power only on the use of force; rather than trying to convince they were satisfied with having intimidated: the hostility just accumulated and eventually came to claim its revenge.

Monopolarity and hegemony isn't bad (or good) in itself: the Hegemony renounced to try and civilize CyberNations and were content of just sitting at the top of it, but if they had instead tried to establish new multilateral, fair regulations ("global rules"), they could have remained hegemonic for a long, long time...

At the very least, they would have had something constructive to be remembered for.

Multipolarity isn't "more likely" to bring any good to CN: the quality of the leadership(s) is the key factor, the number of leaders isn't critical in itself.

(Though a multipolar world certainly could enjoy more discussion, and not only more conflictuality.)

  4. o/ MHA FAIL

The fact that you don't know what that was for doesn't mean that...

Well, in fact it is fully understandable that...

I mean, we're so nice that...

*throws his hands up, shakes head*

OK, OK, I give up. You discovered that we make mistakes. As starting this discussion was probably a mistake as well, I think we drew? :)

    [ooc]

It's rumored that craftj2 was in a topless bar playing CN on their wifi network and a girl walked up to him and, with her hands on her breast, she whispered in his ear "Honey, wouldn't you like to have me free these from their Hegemony restraints?"

    [/ooc]

(Credit to Bernardo for the original joke, and too bad that I can't post here the picture...)

  5. They are equally guilty, but IRON actually had the power and strength to challenge the NPO if they wished, but instead they went along and supported the New Pacific Order's reign of terror.

You're really overestimating Pacifica's responsibilities. They're not worse than the average alliance (in fact, their civilty is above average). They're just generally good in doing whatever they do, and the consequences of their actions are thus of greater magnitude.

Did they make some critical mistakes? Sure. Are they the "terror of CN"? Heck, NO!

Of course, IRON isn't especially "guilty" neither.

(You brought me to agree with shahenshah, and that's quite an accomplishment... No offence sha! :P)

  6. (OOC, for the Mods: as this is meant to be a permanent multilateral international "treaty" that anybody can sign any time, I respectfully request that it is exempted from being locked for "gravedigs", since its "activity" can't be reduced to having had some recent post.

In case it is instead locked, I ask whether a new issue of the same document - to allow other rulers an opportunity to publicly sign it - would be considered a "repeat topic".)

  7. To the faction leaders in Karma whom keep contacting me, I have answer for you. You have requested that I convince members of the The Hegemony to concentrate their nuclear strikes on members of the Citidel and not on you in return for easy peace terms. My answer is no. If you want to convince them to do it yourselves, I am done. Don't get me wrong I have no intrest in protecting disloyal opportunists like Gramlins and TOP. But I am done and I don't care. If the Hegemomy wants to do your dirty work for you for light peace terms so be it. Just don't expect me to help with that. Don't bother me about it again. And don't come crying to me about how I have betrayed your trust I have give no names nor logs and their is nothing Citidel can do to stop you anyway. So what I am saying very publicly is, leave me be go talk to them directly, I am done.

Is it supposed to be funny, cunning, or both?

Excuse me but I didn't quite get it (probably I am just a il bit slow...)

  8. The members of the Church of Walford have found themselves at war with the greatest of enemies, but my children, I say to you, we shall prevail! Never forget that Walford so loved the world that he gave multiple nations to save us, and also made sure we knew it. Pacifica is the enemy. Your swords, guns, tanks, and nuclear arsenal are all blessed in the name of franzjosef. Your nations shall achieve access to the great NONE in the sky. You are martyrs. You are saints. You are Soldiers of Truth! Never forget this, and you shall win.

    [...]

I'm not quite sure that the non-raiding NPO, the alliance that declared Red off-limits for raids on "none" nations, is "the enemy".

I distinctly remember the last enemies of the last publicly know project (allegedly) linked to Walford, and they're all on Karma's side ATM.

    Anyway, whatever floats your boat...

  9. I support my Härmlins as I've always done, but I am also sad that it had to be against IRON.

On the other hand, the two alliances were probably doomed to be on opposite sides in this war: they will both enjoy a fair fight against an honourable opponent, at least.

I imagine that somebody will take my support for our Härmlins as a "proof" that the MHA is taking sides, and I am glad that I can clear that misunderstanding beforehand: I am not in the MHA government and I am not talking in any official capacity.

  10. I see your good intentions, THBN, but you're confused and confusing, and probably quite, though not completely, not right.

    Archon,

You have proven time and again that you stand for what is right in the world. That is why it surprised me today to read the logs (that should probably not have been dumped) of you and your Karma allies discussing peace terms with the NPO on Tuesday. Why was there such a rush to come to terms? If you were genuinely interested in peace, why did you not have the decency to reconsider the wording on the third term that seemed to not be very well stated/written. Why did you not act with forgiveness in your heart and why are you not quick to bring peace to the NPO today?

    You probably answered that yourself:

I understand your history with the NPO and I can understand why you and your allies would want to watch the NPO burn.... but watching the NPO being abandoned by its so-called friends must have awakened something in you that made you realize that this is not how the mighty should fall. The logs are enough, you had the leaders of Pacifica at your knees saying they would accept terms.
You and yours rushed out of that negotiation. That is not the Archon I know and that was not the honorable move. I am not in anyway backing NPO's war on OV, its obvious they made a mistake. Why then are you not big enough to allow them to make up for it? Why would you rush negotiations? For blood?

Well now you have your blood and I hope it is worth it.

    THBN

This is a game and talking of "honour" from an Out Of Character perspective is quite weird.

  11. If Pacifica did not give the 24 hours notice, then this treaty could be null and void right now.

However, we still like the NPO, we're worried for them, and we'd like to be put in a position in which we can substantially help them again. We don't forget our friends this easily: the Pacifican certainly have been outstanding friends for years, they still are, and hopefully they will be for other years to come: I for one am deeply concerned for the troubles our Pacifican brothers are currently facing.

We Hitchhikers may do mistakes and I don't claim we must certainly be correct, but our position on the current events is that a succession of Pacifican bad judgments made it impossible for us to support them in their current policies and actions. This can very well change and I hope that it does soon, with the NPO correcting its course and creating the conditions for a satisfactory diplomatic solution to this conflict. Our door isn't shut at all.

  12. Would you rather that the small identities continue to be the only ones that lose? I thought it a rather noble thing to see alliances that dont have to lose anything begin to step up for those that everything to lose.

Yes, I would like that the small (and big as well) alliances were set free from the continuous threat of aggression, and hadn't to fear from any intimidation.

In fact, all my CN career has basically been devoted to this goal only.

Anyway all of this has nothing to do with my previous comment, and "little" to do with this Imperial Decree.

I am sympathetic with OV that is a small alliance obviously finding itself in bad waters, attacked by the biggest alliance in CN, but my knowledge of the matter doesn't consent me to go beyond a generic wish of good luck in getting peace soon.

My (also limited, but a bit wider) knowledge of Pacifica and Moo tells me that - while they're certainly not immune from mistakes - they are not "probably" guilty of all these sins they're being accused of [/understatement].

I wish them also good luck in getting peace soon. I'd also be happy to fully support their side but I honestly know almost nothing of the whole matter and I would be insulting theirs and everybody's intelligence if I just showed blind support (in fact, mindless hails would probably be even detrimental to their cause, at this point.)

Also, nobody that knew me would believe that I can sincerely blindly approve anybody, and the others would just skip my words (something many recommend anyway...)

If the NPO wishes to enjoy the MHA assistance in whatever good cause they just need to call us, as usual and as I wish they did even every given day, if needed.

While I can't here speak officially for the MHA I am sure that everybody knows that we're always happy to be of help for our friends' good initiatives.
