  1. You have managed to rise to 1.3% in 484 days. Do you really think a nation that registers a few months from now could do the same thing? By then, 1.3% equals well over 50K NS and it'll keep rising.

  3. So basically, joining a strong and peaceful alliance will soon be the only way to get free nuclear capability via ranks within a reasonable amount of time for new nations? Everyone else - the majority of the people in this game - has to purchase a Manhattan Project for $100 million? And again, how does it make sense for everyone in the top 5% to be nuclear capable just because of their rank? Why should they not be forced to buy a MP like everyone else will be soon?
  4. Older nations already have an advantage due to the fact that they have had more time to grow. Please give me one good reason why they should be nuclear capable without having to purchase a MP as well.
  5. Sometimes it is impossible to stay out of a war when others are out to get you and your alliance for no reason. And you're lucky enough not to get hit by rogues, which can put a large dent into your nation.
  6. Number of Soldiers Lost in All Wars. 34,853 Attacking + 189 Defending = 35,042 Casualties That's probably why. I don't know about you, but I've lost ~5000 infra in wars during my time here and I'm pretty sure that's nothing special compared to other nations. So if there were no nukes in this game you would've stopped growing a long time ago? I think not. Older nations have the same "short cut", namely a Manhattan project.
  7. Tell that to a new registrant one year from now, when he'll have to work his way up to 50K Nation Strength if not more. Becoming bigger is not free. The nuclear capability you get when you're big enough is free. You do not pay for it, it just comes naturally after a while. The point is that you get free nuclear capability for growing, while others must stop growing for a while and pay $100M to become nuclear capable. Growing into the top 5% can take months or even over a year and it will only become harder over time. Eventually, the MP will be your only viable option if you want nukes.
  8. And yet your tech significantly strengthens your ground forces and lowers your infra bill. I don't think the MP does that. The funny thing is that a Manhattan Project is much more expensive than the tech you have bought too! Everyone pays that cost, not just you. People who buy a Manhattan Project have to pay for nuclear weapons upkeep as well. You did not pay the 100 million cost for nuclear capability, something others will have to do. The cost of holding nuclear weapons and the cost of becoming nuclear capable are two completely different things.
  9. Being older (and bigger) is, by itself, an advantage. Why should you get free nuclear capability too? EDIT: You did get it for free. You got it by becoming bigger. Don't pretend that nukes are the only reason why you kept growing, you did it for the extra strength and money. Nuclear capability was just a gift you received after passing the 5% mark.
  10. You seem to be assuming that nations with a Manhattan Project do not have to carry 20 nukes at all times. This is incorrect. You can only purchase 1 nuke per day.. What if that nuke is blocked by an SDI? Ouch, there goes your opportunity. And what if you lose your uranium trade in the middle of a war? Ups. Nations who choose to (And will soon be forced to) take the MP route have to endure the income loss of carryign nuclear weapons AND the $100 million purchase cost of an MP with no economical benefits.
  11. Those nations have to invest $100 million, enough to buy well over 1k infra at that level, to become nuclear capable. You became nuclear capable by buying infra/tech, which give you other benefits as well. In that sense, you got free nuclear capability. The nukes were not free, no one gets free nukes. However, you did get the capability to buy nukes for free. You did not have to buy a MP for $100 million, you just kept advancing your nation and becoming economically and militarily stronger and stronger until you were strong enough for nukes. The difference is that an MP by itself does not make your nation stronger and it does not increase your daily income. It costs $100m with no economical benefits.
  12. So new nations should be forced to buy a Manhattan Project if they want to become nuclear capable within a reasonable amount of time, when you get free nuclear capability just because you're older and bigger? The NS requirement for nukes is only going up. Soon, it will be 40k.. 45k.. 50k.. Any new nation joining at that time has no choice but to buy a Manhattan project, or they might get caught up in a nuclear war with no nukes of their own. You, on the other hand, still get free nuclear capability. Think about it. One infra level will allow you to buy ~10 extra soldiers and ~1 extra tank. Before this update, 1 infra effectively increased your NS by 3 plus an average of 2 potential NS. That's 5 NS per infra level. Now this has been reduced to a tiny bit over 3 NS per infra level. It's going to take significantly longer to get into the top 5%, and eventually it will take too long before you can buy nukes this way.
  13. Personally, I'd start buying my own tech at 2999.99 if I were you. At that point, getting into a war without any tech is suicide. Your ground attacks will be weaker and you won't have a decent airforce.
  14. What? Nations now have to buy a friggin MP AND suffer the 600k/day loss. The loss of daily income you suffered was so that you could nuke the hell out of another nation, which is obviously worth it. It doesn't suddenly give you the right to keep your free nuclear capability.
  15. That's what I'd call harder, especially because making the 5k jump is pretty much a requirement now and everything slows down after 5k.
  16. I already explained why that didn't matter. Sure, you may have moved from 10% to 9% but if the guys at 6% have a higher NS than what was required for nukes before the update it doesn't matter. 37K base NS now vs. 32K base + military before the update. It's pretty obvious which one is harder to reach.
  17. You're acting like nuclear capability was the only thing you got from purchasing infra. The fact is, you got a larger army and a higher daily income. Nations who must now purchase a MP to become nuclear capable within the next year don't get either of those benefits even though they still have to spend a lot of cash on it. This has not changed at all with the update, so I fail to see how it is relevant in this discussion. The fact still remains that nations need to get to 37K NS with just infra/tech purchases, whereas 32K NS + military would've been sufficient before. Not a single non-nuclear nation has gained NS with the update, so every single one of them that was outside of the top 5% has only been knocked down further. Sure, they may have gained a few ranks, but that's all relative. They have been moved further away from the absolute NS goal they need to reach to get into the top 5%, which is all that matters.
  18. You gained places because the people above you had large armies and you did not. The NS requirement for nukes, with a peacetime military, has gone up about 5k. That's 5k extra NS you need to get via infrastructure and tech purchases. Not only that, but the NS requirement will only go up over time. It most certainly is a lot harder to gain nukes now. EDIT: Why? You got your free nuclear capability already. To me, it just sounds like you don't want any changes to be made to this game that may have a negative impact on you.
  19. He obviously received a lot of aid. The problem is that the Manhattan Project offers no economical benefits, unlike the infrastructure you could've purchased with that money. Nations that are currently in the top 5% won't have to buy a Manhattan project at all. 2 years from now, the NS requirement for nukes could easily be over 60k. It was roughly 20k when I joined less than a year ago, and that was with the old NS value for tech. It's extremely hard to gain such a high amount of NS within a reasonable time period. The MP would be your only option to become nuclear capable, but it's very expensive. Older nations never had to buy one in the first place. The only "fair" solution would be to remove the 5% requirement entirely, and make a Manhattan Project the only way to become nuclear capable.
  20. I wouldn't call a 5k infra nation "new".
  21. In the future, the top 5% will consist of old nations who have access to free nuclear capability while everyone else of decent size has to buy an expensive Manhattan project that uses up one of their monthly wonder purchases. That doesn't sound very attractive.
  22. It's not supposed to be easy, but right now it's getting harder by the day and this update made it even worse. How would you feel if you were a new player and then found out that it's probably going to take more than a year before you could get nukes? And what about 12 months from now, when it'll take even longer for a new nation to get nukes? Something has to be done or this will get out of hand.
  23. Then perhaps the requirement for nuclear weapons should be changed, because the system is still broken. An NS requirement that goes up over time and is hard to meet because of the extra NS that existing nuclear nations get just isn't fair to new nations.
  24. Yes, but it would quite literally take over a year for me just to catch up to an 8k+ nation. Actually, since I cannot afford to do 6 tech deals, I'll probably never catch up. And that still doesn't change the fact that it is now harder to get nukes. You need to grow a lot more to get into the top 5% -> It's harder. It wasn't nearly as hard before the update.
  25. Why not? Nations now have to grow all the way to 37K NS without military inflation to become nuclear capable. Before this update, ~32k NS before buying a military would suffice. To me, that sounds like it's harder.
