  1. What you are forgetting is that this does not happen exclusively to older nations. Nations of all ranks get into wars and lose NS.
  2. A nation that is currently at 5k infra might be able to become nuclear capable within a few months. But what about a nation that is at 2k infra? He definitely has to buy a Manhattan project once he reaches 5k because he probably wouldn't even be in the top 10%. I also think the upkeep for nukes is overrated, btw. With Labor Camp swapping I still make enough money to buy an average of 40 infra per day. That means I can grow just as fast as a 1k or 2k infra nation if I wanted to.
  3. What? I already have 20 nukes and I'll be back in the top 5% within a week. I can assure you that removing the top 5% privilege would not be in my nation's best interest. It would, however, be fair to everyone who now has to buy a Manhattan Project to become nuclear capable without having to play catch-up for a year. And you are wrong. Not buying a Manhattan Project when you're a ~5k infra nation well outside of the top 5% is stupid. Nukes more than double your damage output (Vs 1 nation) in a war. If you don't have them at that point you are screwed, because chances are the people who declare on you will be nuclear. Unless you're in a 100% neutral alliance, you are indeed practically forced to buy a Manhattan project.
  4. Once again the only argument I see is "I don't want to buy a Manhattan Project!". "Punishing" big nations with a Manhattan project? Unfair? Please..
  5. That's my point. If the newer nations outside the top 5% have to purchase an MP to become nuclear capable within a reasonable amount of time then why shouldn't the top 5%? In the end, everyone should purchase a MP because it's a good strategy, but nations in the top 5% don't necessarily have to to get a stockpile of nuclear weapons. That doesn't make sense. If new nations have to purchase one to get nukes then everyone should have to do the same. It just sounds like you are opposing such a change because you don't have a Manhattan project. Anything that happens to this game is fine unless it has a negative impact on YOUR nation, right? Ridiculous. You've played this game long enough to deserve that older date next to "Nation Created:" and more time to build your nation. Other than that, playing longer doesn't mean anything.
  6. The MP is a good absolute requirement. The problem I have with the current system is that those in the top 5% don't have to purchase it, which doesn't make sense and is quite unfair. They're already bigger.. Why give them free stuff too?
  7. Dismissing everything down to 20% soldiers would cost you about 1750NS. That, combined with the loss of nukes, would put you right outside the top 5%. Or maybe you'd be at exactly 5% if you're lucky. Why is this relevant anyway?
  8. Not a chance. http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=130694 5625 infra, 1571 tech and 20 nukes won't even get you into the top 5%.
  9. 4999!=4000 and you do have a lot of tech. Also, you already have nukes which gives you more NS.
  10. Nations with 4k infra would need a ridiculously huge amount of tech for their size to be in the top 5%. That will happen one day, with the way this is going.
  11. I don't see how that would make it any easier for you, since you don't have to buy an MP at all right now.
  12. The main purpose of buying infra and tech is to increase your daily income, get a larger military and to get a more powerful military. The nuclear capability you get when you're in the top 5% was just an extra, there is no cost directly attached to it. Kinda like how you get the right to vote in real life when you turn a certain age.. Did you endure life on earth for X years just to gain it? No, it's just a bonus you got. It's widely accepted that the amount of tech sellers is decreasing while the amount of buyers is increasing. From a seller's perspective, I can tell you that there are so many nations out there looking for tech everywhere because they can barely find any. You should consider yourself lucky you can fill up all of your slots. Yes, and this shouldn't change. Why should it be overcome in the first place? Why can you become nuclear capable just by catching up to bigger nations? It doesn't make sense from ANY perspective. There should be an absolute requirement for nukes, one that doesn't go up over time. Without buying an MP many nations won't ever get nukes. They have to sacrifice $100 million and a wonder purchase to become nuclear capable. High-ranked nations don't. It's just stupid to penalize smaller nations if they want to fight with the same weapons as the elite of the game, something they must do if they want to do some meaningful damage in a war. Any 4999 infra nation can buy a MP within 30 days, or they're doing something wrong. Since you can only buy one wonder every 30 days and since you should've bought a wonder before 4999, it's really not a disadvantage. They do spend a larger chunk of their income on the MP but it doesn't take them any longer to buy it.
  13. Lol, no. 8 months ago the NS requirement was 20-25k and that was when tech was still worth 20NS per point. The NS requirement has been rising quite fast, I have no doubt that it will hit 50K NS within a year. The amount of tech sellers is also getting smaller by the day. Eventually tech will cost $3m/50 and you will have a hard time filling up your slots due to a lack of sellers, which means it'll take even longer to get into the top 5%. The fact remains that the average "older" nation has more NS than the average "younger" nation. They are not necessarily better, they have just played longer. The game already gives an advantage to older players in the form of giving them more time to grow. Why would they need free nuclear capability in the top 5%? And economical wonders are better than an MP for EVERYONE, not just older nations. Yet most younger nations will have to buy an MP while most older nations in the top 5% get free nuclear capability, even though it is much easier for them to buy an MP than it is for the younger nations. Making an MP the only way to become nuclear capable would stop giving some older nations an extra advantage and it would prevent the NS requirements for nukes to spiral out of control.
  14. Older players already have an advantage because they're older, that shouldn't change. However, older players are given another advantage in this game, namely free nuclear capability in the top 5%. That makes no sense when you think about it. Unfortunately the tech supply of both nations is bottlenecked by their aid slots and not their funds, so it really doesn't matter. Removing the top 5% thing and making a Manhattan Project the only way to become nuclear capable would be a good start. Giving free nuclear capability to those in the top 5% doesn't make sense. If by "relatively quickly" you mean "hundreds of days", then yes. Because that's where this is going.
  15. Because Cybernations is rapidly losing players and making things harder for new nations won't help.
  16. A SSS might be the best wonder for him right now. It increases your daily tax collections (before bills) by ~7.1% (30/28 = 1.0714), which may or may not be more than what a stock market would give him.
  17. Why have you earned something because you've had more time to build your nation? How does that make sense?
  18. And the new NS calculation has increased that inflation. It's pretty obvious that the current system is just broken. Right now it might still be acceptable, but it'll keep taking longer and longer for new nations to become nuclear via the top 5%. Nearly everyone will eventually be forced to buy a Manhattan Project if they want to be nuclear capable, while the top 5% gets free nuclear capability simply because they've had more time to build their nations. It's ridiculous.
  19. I'm looking for a $20 donation for May. The donation would have to take place in the first week of May, I'll PM you with the exact date. I'm willing to pay up to $18 million dollars. A combination of money and tech is also possible if you want. This would be a single-slot deal, I'll send you part of the payment every 10 days. Please PM me in-game or on the forums if you're interested!
  20. And what about people who are not close to the border? People who have 20k NS a year from now when the top 5% has 50k or higher. They have no choice but to buy a MP because there's no way in hell they'll get free nuclear capability from the top 5% anytime soon. Just because they started playing the game at a later point in time.
  21. So if everyone had a proper aid program, everyone would be able to get into the top 5%? No.. The 5% NS requirement would just rise like mad, like it has been doing for the past few months. I wonder why..
  22. There is a point where it becomes factually impossible to reach a certain amount of NS within a certain amount of time, even if your nation management is completely flawless and you get a lot of lucky events.
