Keep fighting until you run out of money, tech and nukes. Then they cant make any demands for tech and cash.

In theory, they could still make the demands nevertheless, being in a comatose state would not be enough to remove the terms, I sense.

2. The Order of the Paradox started this war and was the first onto the field... they should, therefore, reap what they sow and be the last off the field of battle no matter the duration.

If you do not like the terms you have been submitted, what exactly did you expect?

Just take the beating and continue whatever you guys are doing.

So you just declared on GOONS because one member didn't want to give you peace? Brilliant political move.

edit: I see now that you're a one man AA. Could have fooled me (and did) with all these announcements you made. Still think taking this up in private with someone in GOONS gov would have been a much better idea.

OOC: If it's null and void OOC, then why are you writing about it IC? If you go with that IC response, then you'd need to admit that the island had been actually completely desolate. However, if you void it OOC, it means that the island was not abandoned and this means that Germany moving into the island never happened, then there's no IC response to the non-event. What would you prefer to do? I don't mind it either way.

IC:

As time went by, the reason why the RatComs had sided with the Demos seemed to suddenly become obvious when Southern Companies moved in. In the following months, big changes would continue to happen. Many German Businesses, including traditional companies, would be forced out of business and so unemployment would rise. The lucky - and most capable - ones would be able to get a job in the Southern German Corporations, while the unlucky ones would be forced to settle for far less rewarding jobs from other foreign companies, and even from some German proper companies which had suddenly modified their policies to commence explotation.

In spite of this, the Democratic Propaganda Wagon continued to proclaim freedom. For some, things were better, for others, things were worse. Some were starting to become rich, while some were starting to become poor. The Martencists would continue to fight against this tide and in the end again found themselves siding with the RatComs in a number of laws, arguing both in favor of protecting the workers. But as the Government had to put forth more social aid to try to help the poor, it had less to spare for propaganda.

Later that year, the Parliamentary Ellections were around the corner. The Chancellor still had more time in office, but these ellections would change it all.

OOC: Ahh sorry, I apologise as I was a little... carried away in making a In-Character response. If possible, I wish to nullify my In-Character response and hope that the Heligoland issue is resolved. Therefore, could we consider the movement of Germanic troops into the area never happened?

I do not believe they should be punished. Mark them as on probation; their next move actoin shall be taken.

New Canada has ordered the return of the army to the border until further notice, and Blue Heaven can confirm its status.

and transgression of Canadian Airspace by the reich will not be tolerated.
Same goes with the NTR,
We do not want war, and to lower tensions have moved out the army, and we are preparing a civilian delegation.

You claim that there is no government, that their nation is in anarchy. You then say that you will leave only if the government - which you claim does not exist - requests you to do so.

This is not amusing.

"This well-informed fellow has just destroyed the entire argument of the belligerent invaders. It looks like New Canada has just initiated a Catch-22 situation, and I really would like to see how they shall get out of it."

If the Blue Heaven Govt, wishes us to leave, we will do so with haste.
They have a direct line of cummincation from their location.

"How do we know that you won't influence them in a way which forces them to back whatever you say and as a result, will give you full control through unscrupulous means?"

9. "The state of Lübeck is outraged at this act of imperialism by this third-rate operation. From what we've heard, that area is quite operational, and all you are doing is invading it without any real reason. We support anyone who attempts to kick out the invading army made up of these opportunists."

10. In response to the RP by Kaiser Martens, I wish to clearly state that the island of Heligoland is still under the control of Lübeck and not Deutschland. According to various sources on the Internet, said island is part of Schleswig-Holstein and therefore falls under Lübeckian jurisdiction. This is to clear up any more confusion on the matter.

A convoy of government and civilian ships has arrived to Heligoland, an Island long unclaimed by any country due to its small size and the loss of its old strategic relevance. The small but beautiful Island is abandoned, and some houses are still standing after the territory was abandoned when the Nordland collapse led to economic difficulties which prompted people to go to different countries. So quickly had it been left that still a few old ships were found, and even some old Nordland equipment, such as a Nordland flag on a pole - very old, and damaged.

The Germans moved forth and changed that flag for their own, and looked around. The Houses are to be demolished and rebuilt, although not many are to be allowed. A few corpses of people who refused to leave the island have been found, quite decayed. They have been since burnt accordingly to German tradition.

Regarding the military, it was mentioned that only a small police force would be there. The Althing has decided to make the region a non-military zone due to its importance in Germanic Religion and due to its unusual natural beauty, it will be, like Asgaard, cultural centers.

Germany seems to continue with a new brand of expansionism, definately more peaceful than all of its previous incarnations, having added small sectors of land without violence over the beginnings of the Martens Administration.

In other news, the Althing approved a Government effort which stemmed from a civilian initiative to provide assistance to the neighboring French Nation after it suffered a National Catastrophe which sent it back to the stone age for several weeks. (OOC, He had his nation reset)

Contact had been established with the Government to help the situation improve. The idea is to help both the Frenchmen and the Germans and Nordlanders - former Rheimarkers which have found themselves forced to be annexed by the French State.

OOC: I've just noticed this, I've held Heligoland for some time. Heligoland is part of Schleswig-Holstein, and as a result, I've got full control over the lands. Therefore, I declare your RP of controlling it as null-and-void. The link to the treaty can be found here: Treaty of Heligoland.

"The state of Lübeck has just been made aware of an illegal occupation by their... neighbours to the south. We demand that this unlawful invasion of our sovereign land is repulsed. Therefore, we request that our... rivals in the south please leave our lands peacefully and return all the things they have plundered from us. The state of Lübeck has been ruling over said island for a long time, and you just can't waltz in here and claim that it was 'abandoned and unclaimed' when the land has been part of Lübeck's heartland for such a long time.

In addition to this, the Treaty of Heligoland which was signed some time back with the Third Republic of the Netherlands was in fact, signed on the island which our friends in Deutschland claim to have had no connection to the outside world at all. By their reasoning, does this mean we could claim Rügen and say that 'nobody ever claimed this'? Therefore, we demand their immediate withdrawal and a public apology over this entire mess. We, along with any other nation, do not like our sovereignty to be impeached in such a way."
