Agora: the crumble begins

The recent DoW against UBD is an example of the serious trouble that Agora is facing.

Now, to be clear, it looks like there were members of UBD who made serious mistakes. And, these mistakes necessitate serious consequences.

I thought, however, that the DoW which will end up punishing the entire alliance for the actions of a few is a powerful example of how little Agora is respected diplomatically. Instead of a decent amount of reps, MK is rolling all over them like a dog in feces. UBD, who are treatied to Agora along with MDP's with NADC and GDA, are currently being blasted by the Kingdom. As far as I know, very little fight was put up by Agora.

Agora has been in trouble for a little while now. It has failed to attract more than the charter members, and the only non-founding signatory to join is now being attacked by MK.

Honestly, things did not pan out the way we planned them.

Too bad.

Umm.. UBD spied on MK; MK is nice enough not to declare an all-out war on the alliance. UBD's allies, including Agora, were presented evidence and consented to the final decision. Also, an economic treaty is really not the #1 priority during a diplomatic crisis.

No, Stonewall. This was a rogue action that should have been dealt with accordingly. Nothing was government sanctioned. There were better ways to work this out. Expulsion terms, heavy reps, and leadership changes would have been a more appropriate culmination to this fiasco. Why are members punished?

Back to the subject of Agora: I think it is pretty clear that the major problem was a reluctance of some of the signatories to commit to the idea of the bloc. Activity levels were very high among some alliances and almost non-existent for others. Economically this was inefficient, and diplomatically this was untenable.

Agora was a bad idea, and has failed.

Did most of CN not call this a long time ago?

I don't know about the rest of CN, but yes it seems like Agora had the cards stacked against it.
