Yes, Argent elects the Regent and Vice-Regent, as well as its councilors. The only government members not elected are the Minister of War, Internal Affairs, and Foreign Affairs.

Is it better?

In Argent, I think so. In order for a democracy to be good, the number of members in an alliance does not matter. However, the percentage of active people in an alliance that understand what's going on. That's why democracy in Argent has been effective.

We don't have Democracy in GOD. Never saw the need for it. Our leaders lead through trust, and we have a decent view of whats going on. I talk to my leaders daily, and get the scoop about the happenings. We are a dictatorship, and I am very happy under my leaders. Part of being in an alliance is inherent trust in your leaders. I do not need to elect them, any how.

It depends. Democracy can be really good for some alliances, if done right, while absolutely terrible in others. I think meritocracy is a safer bet for most, but that doesn't make it the best for all.

Yeah I like meritocracy. It is flash-in-the pan types of leaders are frustrating. People need to work their way up, imho.
