Lynneth
To: Cochin government From: Laura Sieger aka Laura Sostra To whom it may concern, As you know, we have recently been forced out by Germany when we merely wished for independence from the nation - which, in their hypocrisy, they have denied us, but given the Gothic Empire. We request asylum, and a conference to talk more in detail about everything. If you wish, I will bring some of those who you had previous dealings with, such as the CEO of E.ON. king of cochin
To: Laura Sieger aka Laura Sostra The Kingdom has always had excellent relations with South Germany dating to the days of the German Democratic Republic and then Vereinigte Deutsche Länder. Though by the activation of the treaty we had been forced to wage a war in Germany, we hold no ill will towards the people of Germany. The Kingdom of Cochin grants asylum to your people. You are welcome to hail port at any of the various ports in the Kingdom of Cochin, though the port of Colombo would best suit the purposes for now. As regards the meeting, you are welcome to Cochin City. Of course the presence of an official with whom we have had prior interactions would greatly contribute to the bonhomie of the occasion. Lynneth
To: HH Kerala Varma, King of Cochin From: Laura Sieger aka Laura Sostra As the majority of us currently resides in the former GDR Space Station Bismarck, we will take a shuttle and land at the space port closest to your capital. This should be SLC Dagring. Please advise us on whether another location would be better. Meanwhile, we will notify all ships with refugees on them to set course for Colombo. Please not that the fleeing population may outnumber the current population of Sri Lanka. We'll do our best to live peacefully with the natives. If one does the math, the Elevator would cost more than 3,000 dollars per kilogram at a yearly payload of 2,000 metric tons. This is far too expensive to be economical. Thus I'm glad that you've imitated the GDR's efforts to build a launch loop; The large version at 2,000 kilometers length should be capable of launching material into space at a mere 30 dollars per kilogram at up to 300,000 metric tons per year. For this, proper power plants are needed though, and I believe those you currently utilize aren't sufficient. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways, as we've secured our important technologies via several paths, amongst them taking it with us to the space station and sending stealth bombers onto a west-southwest course to Madeira, we have full access to everything relevant. Luckily, even if we hadn't done this, everything would be in Estuaire as well, where Sostra is currently building a branch right above the relevant territory. Only to secure it and do some business over there. At the moment, we're planning to re-establish a proper presence in space, meaning we need to start up a new space program. This has the second-highest priority at the moment, highest being the construction of enough homes for all the refugees coming in. In the short term, we wish to re-establish supply runs to the Bismarck space station, which we'll rename. In the medium term, we plan to establish at least one permanent outpost on the Moon. This includes mining operations, because there's plenty of materials abundant on the Moon, but rare on Earth. In the long term...Well, we're still planning. Cooperation can only help bring both of us further."
