Captain Enema
The Sudanese Republic, thus named by popular vote, is pleased to announce that elections have been held. The people have voted and the Honorable Thomas Mbombe has been elected the President of the Sudanse Republic for a term of six years. The Moderate Sudanese Party has secured the majority of the seats in our parliament and has vowed to work closely with the Honorable Mbombe in order to bring about a smooth transition from military rule to civilian self-government. Mr. Mbombe earlier remarked, "These are exciting times for the people of the Sudanese Republic. We couldn't have accomplished this without the hard work and support of the military lead by Mr. Denard. He's been a wonderful help and I look forward to working with him closely in the future to ensure the security and prosperity of the Sudanese Republic." Mr. Mbombe is available for questions for a limited time.
Subtleknifewielder
"First, may I congratulate Mr. Mbombe on a successful election. Second...after the transition, what is your first priority for improving your nation? And what will your Foreign Affairs policy be?" ~Benjamin Wallace, Duke of Darwin
Captain Enema
"Our foreign policy to begin with will be to develop friendly relations with our African neighbors. That is those neighbors who do not seek to impose a foreign belief system upon the native population of Africa. Those that do we'll politely ignore until such a time that we can no longer afford to ignore them due to their own belligerent actions. Our first internal priority will be a comprehensive building programme to upgrade the Sudanese infrastructure. Novak and UMS both did quite well in maintaining the roads, sewer, power, and such. However, there is work that needs to be done and we'll be doing it with all possible speed," replies Mr. Mbombe.
