CZTO Representative arrives at IPE and waits to be escorted to where the talks will be held.

NAIA Terminal 1 - Arrivals

A limousine escorted by four police motorcycles would pull up in front of the NZTO representative. A man wearing a military uniform came out of the limo, offering his hand to the representative.

"Greetings. I am Juan Fernandez, IPE's Minister of Foreign Affairs. You must be the NZTO representative. How are you?"

"I'm Jacob Kallens, Nice to meet you. We are interested in gaining relations with the nations that use our trade network in order to prevent conflict in the future. I'm sure you would like to as well. We propose an alliance, as we would like to take the rest of New Zealand back to the New Zealanders, we could use the help. In exchange we would grant you some... shipping rights and a piece of stock in our company. You stand to make a great deal of money and mutual protection with us."

New Australia recognizes our neighbor and would be interested in pursuing relations.

"Thank you. We are also interested in pursuing relations with New Australia."

The Greater Korean Empire would be glad to establish ties with a fellow imperial monarchy, and Asian neighbor.

Perhaps talks in the future are doable?

"We would be more than happy to pursue relations with Korea. We can send representatives of the IPE to Korea."

"It is also nice to meet you. We can talk about the details as soon as we get to the Convention Center. This is not the right place to discuss these matters.", said Juan.

Philippine International Convention Centre

The ride to the PICC had been largely uneventful. The limo arrived in front of the Centre after half an hour of driving. NZTO's representative and Juan Fernandez were escorted into one of the PICC's meeting rooms.

Juan thought about Jacob's statement for a while, before saying, "We would be interested in having economic relations with NZTO, but I doubt that we would be able to help you in annexing New Zealand's South Island."

"Hmm, what problems might you have with helping us? We have thousands of ships, any vehicles, troops, airplanes could easily be transported in a few days, with no charge on your nation might I add. And if in the future if you are ever threatened you have the might of the NZTO on your side. Unless you wish to remain neutral in the conflict, which is ok of course, but we are not seeking purely economic treaties at this time."

It was a hard decision. On one hand, they could gain the support of NZTO and demonstrate their military power, but on another hand they could make a lot of enemies and/or get destroyed.

"Tell me, sir, what's in it for both of us if we somehow managed to annex South Island?"

"What would you like? We can provide aid to your nation and its peoples, let you create a joint company with us, we could help fund your military, the possibilities are endless."

"You are missing the point. That, I think, could be accomplished without obtaining South Island. But what is the benefit of having South Island itself?"

"For us, a unified New Zealand. For you, our respect, gratitude, and debt for your help. Also Another reason we want it is as a large portion of our workforce resides in the entirety of New Zealand, not just the north."

"Ah, if that is the case, then we feel that it will not be in our best interest to help you at the moment. We shall remain neutral, for now."
