The assailant, Nikolai Vyarhet, broke off from a tour group to enter the Kaiser's office, removed a small 3 shooter pistol from his groin, and shot the Kaiser. The man was subsequently taken down by members of the tour group, where they removed a small cyanide capsule from his mouth. Then, he was taken into custody by military security agents. Vænsynn will be sorely missed, and his wife Andrea has allowed the government to conduct immediate elections, after alÞing offered a week of mourning while they ran the show. She wanted the government to be led by someone who can run the country. Therefore, two candidates have been chosen from two parties that offered their brightest. The Elections Constitutional Nationalist Party The Nationalist party of Varangia has a history of keeping the hands of the government out of the lives of the people, and keeping a god-like structure to the government and even moreso, it's leader. The government will intervene only when it sees fit, while the leader, in this case a Kanzler/Grand Feldmarschall, called the Kaiser, much like Vænsynn, would remain as the speaker of the people and government to everyone, intervening with unlimited power wherever he saw fit. However, if the alÞing saw him gather too much power, he would be removed from power. Candidate: Kristoffer Valdmark Social Views: Libertarian, Government has no role in victimless crimes and incidents where nobody was harmed. Political Views: A god-like, hands-off government who is separated from the people, but has the power to intervene whenever. Economic Views: All essential industries are subsidized and government owned. This includes food, water, electricity, and housing. Foreign Policy: Keeping the treaty with Martens' Greater Germany, membership in the EU, and good foreign relations. Military Policy: Continue as planned. Other: We are for continuing the massive city project on the Crimean Peninsula, which is halfway done. Sudrdrengr Party The Sudrdrengr party is a relatively new party. They wish to follow a model known by many to be a Liberal Authoritarian model. The economy is fairly free market, with government agencies monitoring each organization and making sure they are practicing within the confines of national law, via a Government Liason monitoring the business. Their social and foreign policies are the same as the Nationalist party, but the government model is completely different. The head of state is a monarch with very high power, given the title of Allvadr or Kaiser. Candidate: Vinzent Vardmatr Social Views: Government has no role in victimless crimes and incidents where nobody was harmed, government police Statsgrid instated under direct control of Allvadr. Political Views: Most all power is redirected to Allvadr with AlÞing acting as a small provincial decision court and an impeachment board. Economic Views: Capitalism with firm laws enforced by the Statsfevald. Foreign Policy: Continued alliances with similar Norse cultures, membership in EU.
