With the situation concerning the Pan Asian Party coming to a close, and our recent Haruhiist neighbors getting settled, the time has finally come for Zargathian elections to take place. The entire population is called to vote, and even though the Monarchy will remain in place the government that will be chosen will nevertheless be an important executive factor within Zargathia.

As per the custom, the largest faction is granted the right to appoint a President, in most cases the party leader. The current president, Ishima Ryu, has stated not to be available for this election round. We wish him all the best.

Currently, the three main factions are:

Zargathian Liberals (Conservative Liberalism)

Siu Qingzhao, ZL Party Leader

A true 'law and order' party, the ZL is in favor of higher sentences for criminals, and strongly supports the economic and defensive treaties Zargathia has signed. It supports interventionism, though will restrict these interventions to sending out military units on White Cross missions. Due to the former PAP's riots in Buryatia, and the current terrorism in Yuktobania, the ZL is willing to give up some civil liberties in favor of public safety. Though supportive of a free market economy, they are against privatization of public transportation, banks and basic public services like gas, water and electricity. They also support the separation of church and state as an integral part of the constitutional freedom of religion.

Spirit of Kangxi (Royalists)

Shen Jianyu, SK Party Leader

The SK support Amyante's current policies, and feel that the Queen would be the best leader Zargathia could have. They therefore do not support the making of a new government and wish for Zargathia to become an Enlightened Absolute Monarchy instead.

Green Democrats of Zargathia (Social Democrats)

John McFadden, GDZ Party Leader

The GDZ wishes for a more regulated economy, focusing more on environmentalism rather than unregulated free trade, and wants to have a stronger government regulation on social services such as child welfare, education and health care. They are also supportive of increased customer protection programs against fraudulent businesses and want to make trade unions mandatory, going as far as to create one if the subsidy offered proves no incentive to workers to set one up themselves. One of the main points of their policy is giving more power to local authorities as well as the privatization of banks, which are fully government regulated at this point.

Halfway through the elections, all three parties remain locked in a neck and neck race. The GDZ, after an absolutely stunning start, has faltered somewhat, allowing the ZL to catch up to it. Out of nowhere however, the SK managed to pass both, though their lead can only be called slim at best.

Currently, the standing is as follows:

Voting charts

PARTY - CODE - VOTING %

Zargathian Liberals - ZL - 30,77%

Spirit of Kangxi - SK - 38,46%

Green Democrats - GDZ - 30,77%

And at the end of Day Two, the SK appear to be getting a lead on the other two parties. Though their 25% lead on both the ZL and GDZ can be called comfortable with only one day left to go, the elections are still far from decided. One thing is certain however, if the popularity of the Spirit of Kangxi is an indication, the Monarchy is well liked amongst the electorate.

PARTY - CODE - VOTING %

Zargathian Liberals - ZL - 25%

Spirit of Kangxi - SK - 50%

Green Democrats - GDZ - 25%

The elections have ended with a surprising victory for SK. Though initially starting out slow they managed to get into the lead around the second day, and strengthen their hold on the third. With them as the winners of the election, Queen Amyante has honored their request that her rule is now absolute, with no democratically elected government beside her. After hearing this news, the Queen gave a press conference in Harbin City Hall.

- "Yeah, i'm feeling... Flattered, mostly. With all respect to the SK, but i felt bad about stalling the elections for so long, and hadn't been counting on this result at all. Still, i would like to ask miss Siu, mr. Shen and mr. McFadden to be my personal political advisers in the time to come."

Effective immediately, Zargathia is now an Enlightened Absolute Monarchy. Upon her request, the constitution will remain in place, although it can still be overridden with Royal permission.

Voting charts

PARTY - CODE - VOTING %

Zargathian Liberals - ZL - 29,41%

Spirit of Kangxi - SK - 47,06%

Green Democrats - GDZ - 23,53%

*Note: Percentages are estimates, please allow an error margin of 2-3%.

Overall, an estimated 85% of the electorate has voted in the elections.

Zarfef: This is a great day in the age of Zargathia, soon they will rise to power and even Teanus will tremble at the thought of their might strength. We were right in seeing great things in Zargathia, right indeed.
