OOC: Ah, don't worry about that. ;)

IC:

"Well, we've known the Great Lakes State for a long time, even before New England itself was established, and it is our opinion that the GLS is doing the right thing in the region. Heck, we had done exactly the same thing before. Thus, we feel that it would be in the best of interests to let us deal with it and get it over with. The GLS have stated that they are going to hold the area as a protectorate, so there's nothing wrong with that."

We feel that it would be better for a joint protectorate to be established. My government would gladly send a peacekeeping outfit to the region, and take It's share of responsibility for this failed state. This way, the region will be under joint custody, and will prevent future conflicts over the region.

From: Mr. Oates

To: Disparu Leader

Unilateral actions will not get us anywhere, divided we will not be able to challenge the Great Lakes States' movements. I'm surprised that you would allow one of your neighbors to become more powerful, while you sit around and reject offers from other countries to support your own military adventures into the region. If we act together, as a single political entity, we could at the very least get the Great Lakes States to agree to a joint Disparu/CFNA/GLS protectorate. I feel that this would be in the best interests of all nations involved.

***PRIVATE***

This is the flaw in your argument, you are referring to a military expedition that does not exist. We are not planning on actually occupying Bohovia, since our military expeditions are...currently located on another part of Disparu's border.

As we have said before, we do not view this recent development as a threat, and we will let the GLS take parts of Bohovia and convert the rest into a protectorate, which will be ceded to any new government that wants to claim,= it. The protectorate will not be part of the GLS.

(OoC: I just realized that my border didn't touch any of the Great Lakes *facepalm*)

IC:

***PRIVATE: TO Oates***

"The Disparuean Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just realized that we do not have any land near the Great Lakes. The people responsible for this major mistake has been...dealt with. The "fresh water" and "fishing industries" I was referring to were actually located in the St. Lawrence River, with several fishing industries in the Arctic Ocean and off the coast of Labrador.

Due to this new information, this justifies are current position; we will not attempt to stop the GLS from annexing parts of Bohovia, since this is not a threat at all even if they do try to annex the land around the Great Lakes. You should talk to New England, the Tennessee Federation and Viniland about that.

Well, if you want to. But we believe it would be best to keep it 'low' and get the task done with.

Reply:

Indeed. After seeing that one incident where you extended into your own protectorates, we highly doubt other nations are going to be happy with our invasion.

By the way, avoid deploying any jet planes since we lack an air force. Somebody is going to get suspicious if they are watching us using satellites or radar.

------------

Current Status on the invasion of Bohovia:

The occupation has been going smoothly with few deaths and injuries from occasional gangs that attempted to protect their "properties". Only the northern part of Bohovia hasn't been occupied, yet.

Hence we are using helicopters and transport aircrafts instead of jet planes. But dont worry, I'm sure our actions have approval by several nations (such as Viniland).

The Northern Expeditionary Force, ferried into southeastern Bohovia, went about their job as several companies (200 soldiers) were airlifted into the City of Kingston. Setting out, the troopers quickly occupied the entire city within hours and restored order. However, there were several firefights with various “gangs” in parts of the city; they were quickly crushed by superior New Englander firepower, but the soldiers still sustained minor injuries.

Getting to Peterborough and North Bay was a bit longer, but the soldiers eventually arrived at their destination. An UAV-1 Marauder was used to ‘scan’ the city for any hostiles while troops steamed from the S-22 Hawkeyes. AH-1 Zulu helicopters rolled around above Peterborough, scanning for any threats and assisting the troops if there were any. Save for a fierce firefight with a gang in the northern part of Peterborough that lasted for hours, much of the city was under New Englander control.

As for North Bay, the process was much longer, and it would take over a day—and aerial refueling—for the Northern Expeditionary Force to reach their destination. As soon as the S-22s touched down on the ground, the troopers quickly took to the streets, establishing law and order. The troopers encountered virtually no resistance—that is, if a single group of armed punks could be counted as “resistance”—the whole time.

After Kingston, Peterborough, and North Bay, several more cities and towns fell into New Englander hands and law and order were imposed over the regions once again. Soon, the southeastern portion of the region would be occupied; the northeastern portion hadn’t been occupied yet.

Meanwhile, repair crews were sent to quickly fix small infrastructure damages in occupied areas and report severe damages, such as downed bridges and multiple massive power failures to the GLS department of transportation, energy, and others for future repairs.
